Take Me to Church 🐾 Ursita

If it had been five years earlier, or even three years earlier, Rita would have been speechless upon walking into Ursula’s home. It was gorgeous, absolutely mesmerizing. But Rita had become used to such things being with Roscoe, being a part of the Sykes family. And, if she were honest, she was far from interested in the home. No, her attention was on the woman leading her into it, holding tightly to her hand.
Again the severity of what was about to happen crashed into her. It made her heart speed up and a fine sweat cover her body. Could she do this? Did she really want this? Ursula was offering her a chance to slow it down some, perhaps even get drunk. It’d make the decision to do this so much easier.
But clouded judgement…
“No drinks,” she said after a moment, though the words came out brash and hurried. Almost as if she didn’t get them out in that moment they would never come out. It made her cheeks heat as she looked down as Ursula stepped closer. “I just– I mean– Ain’t we waited long enough?” She gave Ursula a timid smile as she stepped closer, bringing them chest to chest. “Was an awful long car ride, ya know.”
Ursula’s eyebrows twitched up at Rita’s blurted declaration, but she simply smiled. It did not matter how it was done. Quick and dirty. Slow and sensual. She was adaptable.
That smile grew wider as she saw the faint blush on the girl’s pretty cheeks, watching quietly, carefully as Rita stepped closer. She looked up, just a touch, and her free hand wound around Rita’s waist. Her body was warm and small and pretty.
“Yes, it was. Good thing there has been no second thoughts, then, hm?” she hummed, but before Rita could reply, she kissed her, slipping her tongue against the seam of her lips. When Rita’s mouth opened beneath hers, though, she pulled away and raised her eyebrows.
“To the bedroom then?” she turned and began leading the woman in that direction. It did not take long to climb the stairs and head to the master bedroom. It was plainly decorated, but no less extravagant than anything else Ursula did. The sheets were deep purple, the headboard wrought iron, painted white. There was a silver vanity in one corner, a lovely consignment find. Simple. Elegant.
Ursula smiled and tugged Rita closer again, her hand coming up to her cheek this time as she kissed her.

Seaking Solutions | Babette & Ursula
babette-durandd:
The kids, too. Babette couldn’t just– hit on someone right in front of them. Thomas wouldn’t pick up on it but Abigail might and if she told her parents? That was inappropriate, that was a one way ticket to getting fired. Again. For hitting on people she shouldn’t. Again. Maybe she flirted too much. She had gotten away with it with Sweet, but the focus had been on Thomas that day and really all they’d done was exchange numbers, harmless enough.
Babette didn’t want to take the risk though, something told her it wouldn’t be quite as harmless this time. She’d been careless, it was time to be professional. Chatting about the job was good, she was used to these sorts of questions. It wasn’t such a common profession these days, she understood that.
“Thank you. I enjoy it very much, travelling was beyond my means when I was young but through this work I’ve been all over France, and now it has brought me here. I don’t deny that leaving families can be… Upsetting.” Incredibly so, in some cases. Leaving children you’d grown to adore, and a woman you’d grown to love. “But I keep in touch with many of them, and I consider it an honor, frankly, having the chance to watch so many children grow up into good people and knowing I have been part of what influenced them, I’ve made many good friends through my work and I would not choose to do anything else.”
The girl was holding something back. It was hard to tell beneath the cloud of the curse wrapped around her like shackles, but still, all the same, she could see it. She knew it lurked, even beneath the secret of the curse itself. Perhaps, the reason for that curse?
Perhaps it was just her own curiosity for the conversation.
Ursula watched her steadily, only half-listening to what she said. She did not care much for the woman’s work, only for figuring out this puzzle that lay before her. It was decently done magic. Was it another sorcerer from town? No, Ursula didn’t think so. The girl was French. That much was glaringly obvious. Which meant, perhaps she had fled.
It was hard to tell.
“Well, that is lovely. I move around myself, and I know what that can be like. My employees become like my daughters. Leaving them is never easy. But, it is worth it to see them blossom without you, isn’t it?”
What is Idle Babble For?|| Ursula&Arawn
arawnprydain:
Rumors.
If that’s what she wanted to call them then he was not going to stop her. He would not fault her for not looking into it further, with the way she had things tied up around her. It looked as if she was comfortable, content to sit around while those with lesser intelligence came to her looking for…whatever it was their feeble lives desired, then far be it from him to judge her way of life. Some people had motivation, others didn’t.
He was under no impression that he would be able to compete with her should she really put her mind towards the task, but that was why he was here to ensure that would not happen. Arawn needed her to know he had no intention of provoking her so she would have no reason to end his endeavors short.
Arawn could hear the boredom, but he liked to think he knew better. At this point though he decided that he didn’t care. Nor should he. If he was able to win her over then there would be no one who could stop him.
“Well, when you put it like that it all sound so trivial,” he sighed. Did no one really think about how bringing those who had died, even those long dead, back to this plane could be more than just a bunch of bodies hungering after flesh and bones?
“The cauldron is more than just it’s uses, you see. If I were to obtain it then the world might finally be able to see what has been deemed wrong by our uninformed precursors.” Cowards is what they were, putting their fear into their kin to carry the torch to make people like him the outcasts because they did not understand. They couldn’t think beyond the small bubble they didn’t dare pop. “The world is at a standstill right now. Should the cauldron be found, I think it would be able to bring about real change. Death will no longer have to be the greatest fear or unknown.”
Ursula chuckled again at the trivial comment, her dark eyes twinkling from the dim light of her office. She didn’t like things too bright, sensitive eyes, you know. So it was lit warmly by only a few lamps, strategically placed to cast long shadows about. There was a window behind her, undressed, with the light of the moon pouring onto her shoulders.
Her white teeth flashed in a smile and she took in the information that Arawn was giving to her greedily. Ursula had no real use to wake the dead, but she was always curious. Hungry for knowledge. You never knew when it could be useful. That was something every sea witch learned early--
Things worth trading, things that meant something to others, were the only real things that mattered.
“Well,” Ursula said, after considering a moment. She leaned forwards, out of the shadow, though her teeth still glinted like a blade in her mouth. “I have always respected innovators.”
She leaned her chin on the back of her hand.
“If you are expecting any resistance from me, you will not find it.” She waved her hand dismissively. “Though, a cut of the spoils would go a long way to keeping that little fact in tact.”
Her breath is like honey spiced with cloves, her mouth delicious as a ripened mango. To press kisses on her skin is to taste the lotus, the deep cave of her navel hides a store of spices. What pleasure lies beyond, the tongue knows, but cannot speak of it.

“I think we both know this town is far more than humble,” he said, amused at her ability to down play what he knew they both could feel. Even sitting here in this room he could feel it, like a live wire. The people here only increased the feeling.
“But, as I’m sure you know, there have been rumors running around for years that the Gates are here,” he continued, sighing and flicking his wrist because that had caused so much controversy among those who practiced. “Of course now there’s more substance to those rumors as of late, no?”
Arawn smiled then. This was going far better than he had hoped it would. If only everyone was this reasonable, then he wouldn’t have even had to be here. His head tilted to the side as he considered her offer. It would be beneficial to have someone of her power on his side, but was he really willing to trust that she would not double cross him? That he could ensure that she would be on his side should he tell her the truth of his vision for this world?
“I believe that depends entirely on you, Ms. LaPieuvre,” he shrugged. “There is an artifact that has been said to reside beyond the Gates that I wish to collect. Have you ever heard of the Crochan?”
Ursula chuckled and lifted her glass at the humble comment, because he was certainly right about that. Nothing about Swynlake was humble. It simply masqueraded under such a guise of hospitality and mysticism, purely for the tourists. Most the residents didn’t even know how deeply the magic truly pulsed through this town.
She nodded at the mention of the Gates. Personally, she had no real interest in them. Ursula was powerful enough without having to dabble in outside sources. She could raise the dead, if a price was met. She could change the weather--if a prince was met. Her power was practically limitless. If the prince was met.
But, she could understand the appeal for lesser sorcerers.
Ah, the Crochan.
Yes, she had heard of the powerful cauldron said to be able to reanimate the dead. There were several rumors as to where it lay, but the most common was beyond the Gates. Some Ambassador a few generations ago had located it and hidden it away. Those stupid Ambassadors were so uptight about their powers. Thought they were better than everyone, pah.
“Oh, certainly. Though, only through rumors as you have, I am sure.” She raised her eyebrows. “An impressive piece of hardware. I’m sure you could do many wonderful things with it if you got your hands on it.” She chuckled a little.
“Is that your plan then? Find the cauldron? Raise the dead?” Seemed rather boring to her. Her voice betrayed this boredom. Though, that was a plan too, hoping he would be insulted and divulge his real plan to her.
SELL YOUR SOUL
Take Me to Church 🐾 Ursita
theycallme-rita:
Was that what she would like? For a moment Rita questioned herself, questioned what she was doing. She was a married woman. That had to have meant something, right? But she was not necessarily in love. No, more often than not she was pissed off at her husband, fighting with him over stupid little things. (It didn’t matter that things were getting better, that the fights were coming less and less. She was tired and wanted affection; wanted to feel wanted). So yes, she did want this. Would like for Ursula to take her home.
“Yeah,” she nodded with a deep breath. “I’d like that, yeah. A lot.” Another pause as she looked around before letting her gaze fall back to her boss. “Uh, lead the way?”
Ursula waited patiently, she didn’t take her eyes off of the other woman. She knew what the answer to her question would be--or, she hoped. There had always been a sense that Rita was not entirely happy within her marriage, and, well, Ursula was really just doing a service, helping the poor thing.
So, she grinned and took Rita’s hand, kissed the back of it and pulled her towards one of the cars idling outside. It did not take long to cross down to the southside and her house in the neighborhood there. Her heels clacked on the marble steps as she led the way into her home. The lights flickered on by themselves and Ursula nodded to the living room.
“Can sit down and have a glass of wine, if you would like. Or--” she stepped closer and tilted her head upwards slightly, “--we can head up to the bedroom.”

Seth raised an eyebrow when Ursula welcomed him aboard. Was that it? Really? He was honestly expecting more of an interview or something else, but he wasn’t complaining. At least he now had a job.
As soon as the woman mentioned his “particular skills” his expression instantly dropped. That was unexpected to say the least.
“Well uh sure? Honestly I don’t care which ever one is best I guess?” Seth replied awkwardly. He didn’t quite know what the woman was talking about — Well he did know what she was talking about the look on her face made it obvious that she knew about what he was. But it didn’t mean he actually wanted to acknowledge that. Plus it just weirded him out that he was basically an open book to a lady he had only met a few moments ago.
A boy who did not like making decisions. That worked wonderfully well in her favor. Perhaps he was a wolf, but hadn’t wolves one been domesticated and trained? Man’s best friend and all that. She had the utmost confidence that he would do well.
If only for the provision she’d slipped into his contract. The one that said he was magically bound to carry out her wishes. That guaranteed her success, and his, when it came to the Court.
“Excellent, excellent. A bouncer would be preferable, I would think. Now, I know you don’t have any experience, but it is quite easy. Monitor the people in the crowd--especially the men--if any are too drunk or rowdy, and especially if any of them touches my girls--or any girl without their permission--they will be removed from the premise immediately, by whatever means necessary. I spare no expense when it comes to keeping my girls safe. You will be paid well and Pascal will begin training you at two PM tomorrow afternoon, if you do not have other plans. Your training will also be paid. Any questions?”

At her compliment, because that is what is was to him, he smiled and shrugged a little as if he were of the humble sort. It was good to know he was within the company of someone who was intelligent for a change.
Arawn followed her movement with his eyes, staying still until she motioned that he should follow. He kept himself a step behind her, his eyes glancing out to the room before they were within her office. He nodded in thanks to the offering of the chair and, again, took a seat.
“Oh, no thank you,” he told her pleasantly. There was no telling what could be in the bottle. And even if there was nothing more toxic than the alcohol contents he would say it was better to play safe than sorry.
He chuckled and gestured openly before placing an elbow on the arms of the chair respectively, his fingers lacing together to settle at his chest. “Consider me an open book. What is it you would like to know?”
Ursula knew why he denied the drink. Instead of feeling annoyed, she was mildly flattered he thought she might mean to kill him. Ursula was not the violent sort. Perhaps it was just because of the nature of her magic, but she did not enjoy perpetuating stereotypes. She would have no quarrel with this man if he had no quarrel with her.
She poured herself a drink and shrugged in a “suit yourself” motion before making her way to her desk, settling in her chair and taking a sip of her scotch. She was sure he could see the curiosity flitting about her head.
“Well, I think the most pertinent thing on my mind is what has brought you to this humble little town? Surely nothing good.” She smiled, lips curling up wickedly. “And my second question is: can I get in on it? Whatever it is. I do enjoy a bit of mischief.”
