A week. Pacey had only been gone a week and a few hours and everything had gone to shit. It goes to show what happened when the assets didn’t have someone to keep them in line and he realized for a moment, just how lenient he seemed to be getting. It was unacceptable, really and the more he seemed to be shuffling through the rooms, doing this weeks random search, the more shit he seemed to find. “Jesus christ,” he grumbled, more to himself then anything. If he found one more pocket knife, or one more used up needle, he was going to explode.
Just as he leaving a room, tub full of contraband in his arms, he heard a noise followed by some shouting and he was on it in an instant. Of course everything had to happen on his first day back. There were never any breaks when it came to his job, not that he expected such. When he rounded the corner and caught an asset holding a gun to someone else, Pacey reached for his own weapon at his hip. “Drop the gun,” he said, pointing his pistol at the attacker. “I swear to God I will not hesitate to shoot you if you don’t drop that fucking thing.”
“I um yeah yes. Please listen to him. Please put the gun down and don’t shoot me.” Bradley said as he stared at the asset his eyes wide. Without even thinking he scrambled over to the blond man hiding behind him and getting up. “I’m not really a fighter I am just going to leave this to you. Um. Thanks for saving me though.”
“Well thank you. You’ve very complimentary.” He said with a laugh before smiling easily at the other. “Of course, you can have whatever you want on the menu. One thing about the Tower is they do pay well.” That and the money from the most recent Olympics. He wasn’t worried about buying a handsome fellow a drink. “We can even get a bottle of wine to bring home.”
“To bring home?” Bradley smiled at the statement and hid his face behind the menu as the color flushed back into his cheeks. But he composed himself and pointed to what he wanted. “S-so what do you do? If you don’t mind me asking? I mean I want to know more about you.”

Bellamy just kept staring at Bradley for a few more moments.. “I’m not scary. You’re scared. Not the same thing,” he said with a simple shrug of his shoulders.
“I don’t know how to be lonely. I’m doing just fine.”
“What is the difference? If you are inducing my fear. Doesn’t that make you the epicenter? And thus- scary.” Bradley wondered if he could simply leave now. Would that be rude? Frowned upon?
“It’s not really a thing one learns to be or not be. It just is. So I guess you just aren’t. What do people taste like? Is it like regular meats? And does it depend on the person?”
Oliver didn’t care for the Tower and the sex-slave thing so treating the assets like normal people came easy to him. He liked it when they enjoyed being around him too, meant he was doing something right. “We can go back to my place later then,” he assured Bradley. When the massage started Oliver’s eyes closed and he almost moaned at how good this felt. “Weird? You must be very tense, wait until your muscles relax and it just feels amazing,” he said, letting a moan slip out of his lips at the end. “I love massages.”
“I-I can see why you would love them.” Bradley trailed off as he closed his eyes letting the other person rub his sore muscles. It was a strange sensation for sure. To have hands all over his body like that. But not unpleasant at all. Relaxing even. Which was the point he supposed. “It’s lovely really.”
Troubles in Paradise. // Wyatt + Open [Event]
“Good.” Wyatt says as he gathers his belongs that he’s bringing back to his suite and places them in his bag before he clacks a sequence away on his keyboard; effectively locking everyone but himself out of the device till he came back the next morning. “Shall we head out then?” He asks the other with a smile and hums at the praise; there was something to be said about hearing how brilliant one’s work was that was utterly satisfying. Despite knowing that he was one of the best in the western world, Wyatt’s ego was something that never could be stoked enough. “I’ll see what I can do about getting some teachable material for you then, but I won’t lie I will push your limits and more than likely not be nice about it.” Wyatt warns the other as they leave his office.
Bradley watched as Wyatt prepared to leave for the day he stood by dutifully waiting for him. “Yes sir of course.” he nodded and followed behind the handsome associate. “Well sir if you were kind enough to teach me something. Being a critical teacher would just mean I would have to do my very best and if I can’t get it then well. I don’t deserve to be taught by you.” he said simply following behind Wyatt, admittedly staring at his ass as he walked.
“Aha. So I’m supposed to perform tricks and stuff until you find one of them clicks?” Rigby laughs, because that is not very likely to happen. “Believe it or not I hear that a lot, but handsome people can be pretty smart sometimes, too. I mean, you’re evidence of that yourself. I have a brother who’s into computers & hacking and I know firsthand that it’s a very complicated craft.”
“Nooo no you don’t have to do anything of the sort. I just like. What is happening right now is something. I just hate the nothing. The waiting.” Bradley smile and gave another soft laugh shaking his head. “No I um. I’m not anything special. You’re much nicer to look at Rigby. I promise.”
Troubles in Paradise. // Wyatt + Open [Event]
“Don’t shake out of your shoe kiddo, I’m leaving the office and I honestly don’t really care outside of the work aspect of things.” He tells the boy whom seems to be fairly nervous. “Shush okay. It’s not just one person, and it’s not so much you or any of them teams of tech. I can easily fire the non-assets and rehire; but it’s easier to teach and direct than to find talent.” Wyatt rambles for a moment and nods. “Have dinner with me? My suite gets lonely and 8Bit could use some attention.” He shrugs, as it wasn’t so much anything more than him not wanting to spend the evening alone at this point.
“I um. Yes. Yes I’d like that.” Bradley looked down and nodded but he was smiling. He was sure he was a disappointment. That he could do better. He said stupid things and did stupider. But the other was being generous and he would take it, it calmed him a little bit. He stopped shivering like a dog knowing he wet the carpet. I um. I’d like for you to teach me something. Sometime. If you wanted I mean. I’d love to learn something from you. All your work it’s well. It’s brilliant. Obviously.”
“Or maybe your intervention would have pissed him off and he would’ve killed you,” Tam said wearily, tossing the two ends of his broken cane aside. “You can’t predict the actions of these assholes.”
He was glad there was an asset who didn’t stand up for others. Was it noble? No. Bradley would not be called brave or bold. But he’d survive, and that was better than the alternative.
“Tam. Previously Doctor Kinney.” Tam smiled wryly. “Well, the title’s still legally mine, I suppose, for all the good it does me.” He held out a hand, palm up. “If you could haul me upright, that’d be much appreciated.”
Bradley put his hand into the one held out to him so he could haul the other up on his feet. Tam was right of course, the other could have killed him. And that is what kept Bradley clinging to walls and darting glaces around every corner. Because he was scared all the time.
“That’s impressive. I always wanted to be a doctor. Not like of medicine though. Like a doctorate.” he said with a little laughed as he held onto the hand of the other even after he had gotten Tam on his feet. “What now? I can take you anywhere you like. Well you know what I mean.”
Troubles in Paradise. // Wyatt + Open [Event]
“Well you couldn’t of truly known well peering in from the outside could you now?” Wyatt purposes to the man, watching him as he moved into the room; the nervous exterior bringing a small smile to his face. “Thanks for the update, but I already know they didn’t get in and nor will anyone get in unless that person is me. I designed the system that way for a reason.” Wyatt says as he gets up regardless to retrieve the reports; it’d be a shame to let the boy’s efforts and time to be wasted this one time. “Not upset, just disappointed is all.” He sighs with a shrug. “That’s not a problem though, there’s nothing I can do about it right now and so it’s out of my hands.” Wyatt chuckles as he’d go up firing people another day.
“Y-yes of course sir. That is why you are in charge after all.” Bradley smiled a nervous smile as he scooted back just a little bit waiting to be dismissed. “I am sorry you are disappointed. I’m sorry if I disappointed you I um.” he shifted from foot to foot. “Is there anything I can do to make it better? I will I promise. If I can.”
Emery raised an eyebrow and shook his head as a strange expression fell on his face. “No, of course not, I don’t hit anybody.” He stated simply. “We’ll get one of those really meaty pizzas.”
“You don’t seem the sort. You seem so kind and just. I dunno. I like you .” Bradley bounced in his chair a bit. It was a longtime since he expressed liking anybody. Most people scared him, even other assets. Everyone seemed so much more intimidating than him.
“A meaty pizza and pasta. Haha. That’s going to be good. Can I maybe. Can I have a drink? Like an alcoholic one? It’s been a long time since I got to drink alcohol.”
As the broken cane was pressed into his hands, Tam bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from visibly reacting. Finding the ends, he prodded at the splintered wood. No chance of just taping it back together, then.
Feeling utterly defeated, he let his head thump back against the wall. But despite his frustration, he summoned up a smile for the other asset, even if it was on the wan side. “It’s fine,” he reassured tiredly. “It would’ve just pissed him off. No sense in two of us gettin’ smacked around, yeah? Self-preservation’s a bloody smart thing to have, here.”
“It’s not because I am smart. It’s because I am weak. I’m too weak to stand up for myself...for you. For anyone. A-and I know. You don’t need me to. But it still...would have been the decent thing to do. Maybe. Maybe he wouldn’t have broken your cane then.” Bradley said softly looking at the two broken ends of the cane.
“I can help you back. Back to your room if you want. Or wherever you want to go since um. Since your cane is broke. I’m Bradley by the way.”
The fact that it’s an asset nearby makes Tam relax a little, at least, his shoulders slumping from their rigidly tense position. Even now, there’s a scrap of his pride still stubbornly clinging on to life, making him want to refuse all help.
The bleeding nose he can deal with – he just can’t stand the thought of trying to find his cane. He’s done it often enough. Apparently watching the blind slave grope around on the floor to find his cane is a hilarious game for some masters.
“If you could find my cane, that’d help,” he says reluctantly. “It’s probably somewhere nearby. Unless he took it. I don’t know.”
“Oh ok if it will help. I’ll look.” Bradley looked about, a cane. It shouldn’t be so hard to find a cane, right? But apparently it was. He got up and went further down the hall. He found it but when he saw it his stomach sank. “I um. Here it is.” he said picking it up. Both pieces of it.
“I’m sorry but th-that guy. He broke it.” Bradley said a frown coming to his face unsure what to do now. He held onto the pieces though putting one end of them into the other man’s hand. “I...I’m sorry I didn’t say anything.”
Emery laughed. “And what would you say if I loved Hawaiian pizza huh?” He teased before nodding. “I’m the same. I like all kinds I probably need some protein though so one with a lot of meat would be good.”
“I would be very sad for your taste buds. But you won’t hit me for disagreeing right?” he asked a little tilt of his head as he watched Emery for signs of anger. “A lot of meat sound good to me. B-but anything you like will be fine. I can even pick off pineapple if I have to.”
