Long Time Coming || Sebace

For some reason, the knowledge that Ace had already wanted this - the knowledge that Sebastian had shoved away and, in essence, run from just days before - now brought an immediate smile and made his heart race within moments. To think that accepting permanence, or at least the idea of it, could have such a huge impact on Sebastian was daunting to him, but if it meant the difference between fearing the love of his life and being able to breathe into his presence, he wouldn’t question it. The kiss that came next was slow and yet overjoyed, filled with all of the excitement and the promise that Ace deserved. Flexing his hand, feeling the ring shift snugly on his finger, Sebastian whispered an “I love you” into Ace’s ear.

Arms still woven tightly around Sebastian, Ace made sure to keep their bodies pressed together as tightly as possible. Heart fluttering with every breath, his entire being was full of so much happiness he felt as if he was going to explode at any minute. Sebastian Smythe, heartthrob extraordinaire wanted to marry him, Ace Carlilse, some geeky guy from London, or at least that's what he thought of himself. Shivering from the warm breath on his ear, Ace giggled a bit and nuzzled closer to his fiancé. "And I love you."

Watching Sebastian with fond and loving eyes from where he was kneeled on the ground, Aces heart rate was picking up as he waited. Seconds seemed to last like hours as he watched. Knowing it was unexpected and that they were already engaged, Ace wasn’t worried like he normally would’ve been, he was excited. When Sebastian nodded ever so slightly, Ace jumped up happily and beamed at his now fiancé before grabbing his hand and sliding the ring on. “I—I bought it a while ago and I’ve been waiting to give it to you, and I just felt like now was right for obvious reasons.” The boy whispered softly before his emotions over came him and he pulled Sebastian in for a kiss, desperate and needy, Ace pressed their lips together with force and pure happiness.

Sebastian couldn’t look down at his hand just yet. Staring at Ace’s was more than enough, and just feeling the weight of it on his finger, the completely unfamiliar feeling of wearing a ring at all, was exciting and unnerving all at once. “Why’d you buy it?” Sebastian asked quietly, a dreamy haze coloring his words as he smiled. Looking back, he’d never heard his own voice quite like this, lacking the weight and venom and arrogance that he could admit it usually carried. This was different. This was light and soft, like whispers beneath the covers or murmurs in sleep, and the kiss that came next contrasted it in the best way possible. Losing himself against Ace’s lips, Sebastian wrapped his arms around him and held him close.

Pulling away from the kiss just enough so he could speak, Ace whispered softly. "Because I've known that I wanted to spend my life with you for a long time, so I bought this and was going to give it to you as a promise or even engagement ring. Just as something." The boys heart was racing with pure undeniable happiness and he wouldn't trade this moment for anything. Kissing Sebastian again, Aces arms wrapped around the mans neck as he clung to him with his life.

Kissing Sebastian back with ever fiber of his heart and soul, Ace was on cloud nine. Nothing could ruin this moment for him, he was happier than he had been in a really long time and it was all because of Sebastian. Breathless, the male nodded and held out his shaky hand, a small squeal of excitement falling past his lips when the ring was on his finger. Admiring it for a second, Ace grabbed Sebastian’s hands and smiled at him. “You just made me the happiest man on the planet. I love you with every part of me, everything about you is something i’ve grown to love. You are the only one I need and the only one I ever want,” he whispered as he slipped a hand into his pocket to grab the ring before he himself dropped down to one knee. “Sebastian Smythe, will you marry me?” He asked as he held out the ring for the other male to see.

Sebastian couldn’t find it in himself not to smile at Ace’s elation, a weight lifted from his own shoulders as well as Ace inspected the ring and continued to smile. Blushing as Ace spoke, Sebastian looked down, eyes flashing back up every now and again just to reassure himself that this was, in fact, happening - that he wasn’t completely losing his mind.Then, of course, as Ace fell to his knee instead, Sebastian’s eyes widened and he twitched back, confused until he saw the glint of metal between Ace’s fingertips. He was left reeling after that, gasping and becoming lightheaded all at once, attempting another deep breath shakily as he wrung his fingers together. “You’re…” he laughed a bit, shaking around it. “You’re— why are you asking? A-at this point.” Completely unable to shake the dazed grin stretching his cheeks, Sebastian looked down fondly, his head twitching with an almost imperceptible nod.
