Tim took a step back out of habit. He was so attracted to this ma—… Conner,that he almost forgot to be cautious. Not that he felt threatened at all. But better safe than sorry. It was being too trusting that he suspects got Jason killed.

"I’m Ager," Tim answered. His favorite go-to alias. Maybe later he’d reveal his name was really Timothy. "The city is that way." Tim pointed to his left to where his boulder was.

"Well I can see that," Conner answered with a light grin. He crossed his arms over his broad chest and tilted his head at 'Ager.' "I don't only want to see the city though." He shrugged. "There's not much too see, since I don't anyone who can show me where to go."

"You seem a little lost," Timothy answered with his own smile. When the boy turned around he lost his thoughts for a moment. The boy was… stunning. He swore this was like one of moments he used to read about in books. Now he knew the boy wasn’t from Gotham. He would have remembered a face like that. ”You’re not from here… are you?”

Cautiously he took a step closer. If he was staring, he didn’t notice. Those blue eyes… this stranger took Tim’s breath away.

"No, I'm not," Conner answered. He tipped his head a little, curious. "I was just looking around. I don't really have anywhere I'm trying to get to." On an impulse, he shifted a little bit closer. This guy was cute. Really cute. He seemed like he'd be interesting to talk to, too. "My name's Conner," he introduced himself lightly.

Timothy would be the first to say how big Gotham was. There wasn’t a chance in the seven hells that he had seen every face. Or even close to half of them. But this boy he spotted on the path by the riverbank was… well… different. The way he carried himself, the grin, the very essence of this boy was very different from anyone he’d ever seen in this part of Gotham. His father had always told him he was extremely perceptive.

Deciding to investigate, he used the shadows to appear somewhat close to the mysterious boy. He had done this many times, and that’s how he found all his friends who weren’t highborn. What’s the harm of trying to make another? As he appeared from the shadow of a tree, he quickly walked out onto the path and walked behind mystery boy.

What’s the fun of coming out here if you can’t meet new people?

Conner, oblivious to the shadow skulking behind him. It was not in his primary nature to be cautious. He tended to go blundering blindly into whatever was ahead of him and had to hope he would come out for the better. It helped that he had fairly good luck.

Striding along down the street, it wasn't until he turned a corner that he realized there was someone following him. He caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and turned around, startled, to face his pursuer.

"Hello?" he asked with a light sort of bemused half smile. "Can I... help you?"

Occasionally -and by occasionally it’s really all the time- Prince Timothy would explore his Kingdom in disguise and visit with his friends who weren’t nobility. It was a huge deal if any of the royal family were to wander the streets and today was one of those days he just didn’t want to attract a lot of attention.

The clouds were sparse today and the sun was bright and -most importantly- casting lots of shadows. Timothy discretely traveled through the ones that he could and returned to his favorite place. A boulder. But to be specific, a boulder that overlooked a river that ran alongside his kingdom. It was a very dim spot, with light poking its way through the trees.

He found this place after his brother was assassinated. And since then it’s become somewhere that brings him peace. So whenever he feels the need to relax and rest himself, he comes here. Sometimes he sees other people walk by on their way to somewhere else. But he never gives them more than a moment’s thought.

Conner really, really wasn't supposed to be here. It wasn't one of those friendly reprimands. Those "it's dangerous, you could get hurt" or "you shouldn't go there alone." Kon wasn't supposed to be there at all. He was never supposed to be here. This was Gotham, the mysterious kingdom of their rival family. He was, in many ways, an enemy, and if he was caught across the border he could be in serious trouble. There may even be the threat of death. After all, one of the Gotham princes had been assassinated, and Krypton was still on the list of possible perpetrators.

Kon knew he wouldn't be caught, though. No one here knew his face. Without the amulet to identify him, he was safe. Mostly. He would still get the lecture of his life if his father ever found out he did this. The thought put a jaunty grin on his face as he sauntered along the path by the riverbank. Gotham was just so much nicer than he had expected it to be, with all that talk of shadows.

By having a character that you are not using, you are taking up the opportunity for someone else to use that character.

Our main goal has always been to have an open environment where people can RP with as many people as they can. If you feel like you cannot keep up with your character, please let us know. No one will be upset with you or disappointed.

In addition, if anyone has any suggestions for plots you are ALWAYS welcome to submit it to the main RP or for Season 3 related plots to http://gbsnews.tumblr.com/ . The RP is a group effort and plots can be created by anyone, not just certain people.

When Conner hit the ground it shook. He was no longer a human, and landing in the midst of a bunch of flailing Titans was not a frightening thing. It was not as easy, perhaps, as it would have been with the others nearby, but he only barely remembered them. That time was distant and gone, and he knew how to fight.

Rising out of the cloud of steam, Kon towered with, and a little bit above, the Titans that surrounded him. His face was grim, freakishly human, with none of the eerie innocence of these mindless beasts. He was bigger and stronger, his huge muscles bared as he swung his arms and knocked two Titans clean off their feet.

Tim immediately drew his swords in fear. His eyes wide with terror and disbelief. What? Where… Where did this Titan come from just now? He focused on the tall, lean, and… surprisingly intelligent fifteen meter class that had appeared out of thin air? And why was it attacking its own kind? But what worried him the most was that he couldn’t find Conner among the chaos.

It wasn’t until he caught a glimpse of its face that it clicked. This… this was Conner. But that didn’t make sense. Humans can’t turn into Titans. Or vice-verse. So how… what IS this power? Conner’s words rang through his head once more “trust me”. And Tim HAD trusted him. But now… this wasn’t… how could he ever go back to the way things were?

Conner launched himself at one of the Titans he had not managed to push aside. His fighting style was trained, but it still relied on brute force, something he had in abundance. Tossing the Titan to the ground, he fell on it, digging his teeth hard into the back of its neck. It died as he ripped his head back, tearing out its flesh.

As soon as his opponent fell limp, Kon clambered back onto his feet and drew himself up tall. The other Titans were on him, now. One grabbed onto his arm and bit down hard. Kon threw it off with a wide swing, smacking another across the jaw. These Titans were hardly a threat to him, especially when there were so few. In a few minutes of rumbling, ground-shaking fighting, they were dead.

Conner took a long, deep breath and shook his head. There were no jokes here. No smiles. The fun that had come with their friendship was set aside. Kon was grim, his jaw set, his eyes hard. He wasn’t going to take no for an answer. This was survival.

"If you trust me you have to stay here," Kon told Tim firmly. He glanced towards the ground, towards the flailing Titans. It was a long way down from here… "Do you trust me?” he asked again.

"What…?" Tim’s eyes widened. What was Conner planning on doing? He did trust Conner. He did. But right now he was so scared and on edge that he really didn’t know what to make of the other boy’s change. “Y-yes. I do.”

How much was he going to regret those words in the next few seconds, he wondered.

Conner nodded again. He glanced towards the ground, breathing hard. He would have to jump at an angle, project himself. Otherwise he would never have the time to stab himself before one of the Titans snatched him out of the air. Breathing hard, Kon pulled the pin out of his pocket and flipped it open. He ran his thumb carefully over the tip. Sharp as always.

"See you later," he murmured. The same thing he always said when they separated for the night, or when they went out to do separate chores. It was no sort of goodbye, and yet in the next heartbeat Kon launched himself out over the Titan’s head, abandoning his anchors.

Conner was looking down, and he could see the Titan’s eyes follow him. One reached for him just as he sank the needle deep into the skin between his thumb and the rest of his hand. The pain was deep, but it was gone fast as the world erupted in hot steam.

Tim cried out as Conner leapt off the tree. For a second, just a second, he considered jumping after him. But that’s when he realized… that whatever was about to happen was going to change the way he saw everything.

There was a loud cracking sound. A color flashed before his eyes… yellow? That was before he was suddenly enveloped in burning steam. The tree heaved in the wake of the explosion next to it. This was it. These next few moments decided everything.

Swallowing hard, Conner slipped his hand into his pocket and fiddled with the clasp on the old brooch hidden there. He was not sure where he got it. He was not even sure what it was supposed to be. The enamel image had worn off the front long ago, leaving behind nothing but a gold disc and a needle. It was the needle he kept it for. Just a little bit of pain, a sound stab. The needle was all he needed.

Taking a deep breath, Kon got a better grip on the tree. He could feel it wobbling underneath him. Any second now it was going to break. Clenching his jaw, Kon looked over to Tim.

"Do you trust me?" he demanded in a harsh voice, shouting over the clatter of the Titans underfoot.

"Of… course," Tim answered hesitantly. He could see the sudden change in Conner’s behavior. The way he carried himself changed. The boy he’d gotten so close with over the past three years was… a completely different person. Maybe it was because they were both about to die. Maybe Conner was trying for some blaze of glory. “I don’t know what you’re planning to do, but if you want to try fighting those bastards alone then forget it. I’m not gonna let you throw your life away. At least not alone.”

Conner gripped the trunk of the great tree harder. His heart was in his throat. Nothing could have prepared him for this ending to their first mission. Separated from the Corps, surrounded, treed by Titans. He found it… humiliating, honestly. How many times had he fought them off on his own? And yet because Tim was here, he couldn’t. He had to stay put…

Anxious, he glanced over at his companion. They were both barely clinging to this tree, and it was only a matter of time before the tree itself would snap. They would die. Or not. It all depended on Kon, in the end.

Tim’s anchors were holding him upright on the branch. He was petrified. Sure, he had joined the Recon Corps. And sure, he was prepared to die for the sake of humanity. But what exactly was he about to die for? Another expedition outside of the walls… and for what? The trainees weren’t let in on the purpose of this newest expedition. Were they even heading towards Shiganshina?

"Dammit… I thought I’d make it farther than this," he cursed under his breath. The four titans beneath them were clawing mindlessly at the tree. They’re smiles peering up at them with a sickeningly innocent demeanor. "The one time I’m full of gas and blades… the one time I can’t use them."

"We’re gonna be fine," Conner answered Tim tensely. It sounded stupid, he knew. It sounded foolishly optimistic. Perhaps it was. Maybe he was in denial. Kon had no doubt he could survive this if he tried, but could he try? And would Tim trust him enough to survive if he did what he had to do? "We’ll get out of this."

There was a distinct growl of tension in his voice. Kon looked up at the forest beyond them. Even if they did get off this tree, even if they could kill these Titans, how would they get back? Clark knew him, but if they went back to the Corps there wouldn’t be time for him to stop them from attacking. And he could hardly walk them right up to the wall…

"Our horses ran off," Tim said flatly. "We’re going to die. Screaming and afraid." The tree gave a sickening lurch as it started give way. Part of him wanted to give up. Just unhook his anchors and fall right into one of their mouths. But he couldn’t. He’d promised himself that he’d survive this. At least this first expedition. "It’s only three… just three. But we can’t take them down. We have nothing to anchor ourselves too."

He felt so pathetic just standing there. Waiting to die. His dad would be so disappointed. Especially considering he didn’t join the Military Police like he was expected to.

A Night Out

"I’m not broody right now," Conner pointed out, frowning a little. "Am I…?" He was having a good time. Why would he be broody?

"No you’re not. But it’s your default expression," Tim teased. His scanner wasn’t picking up anything that really needed Robin’s attention. It made some gears start turning in his mind but he quickly dismissed them. "Come on let’s keep moving.." He shot a line up and zipped off to the next rooftop.

"Ugh!’ Conner protested and zipped after Tim. "Stop doing that!" he complained. Sure, he could catch up easily, but it was the principle. Tim enjoyed leaving him behind too much.

Tim came to an abrupt halt on the edge of a roof overlooking an alleyway. Below was a typical occurrence at night in Gotham City. One that made him sick to his stomach. The thugs were nothing special. So without hesitation he jumped down into the alleyway and into the fray.

Conner sighed and landed as softly as he could on the rooftop. Grimacing, he ducked into cover. He didn't usually try to hide but it was a risk just being together in public. One registered, one unregistered, it was too dangerous to get caught together.
