Name: Sasayaku Shinsei

Mixed Japanese/Irish/Chinese

Father: Japanese

Mother: Irish and Chinese

Specializes in using cursed talismans, as she did not inherit her father's cursed fire technique, to the best of her knowledge. (Mun is still working on her cursed technique. Right now, this creature is metaphorically gnawing at my brain to be utilized as inspiration. We'll see how badly this plays out. XD)

She is an orphan - both of her parents were killed by a curse spirit that Shinsei is convinced her father's family sent after them. And now she is currently trying to escape an arranged marriage that will essentially be a death sentence for her if it goes through.

Ah...um... It's n-nice to meet you... M-My name is Sh-Shinsei... M-May I ask your name?

The man notices the girl stutter, and makes himself smaller to seem less intimidating. He smiles warmly and speaks softly.

"Nice to meet you, Shinsei-chan. My name is Katsumichi Kuroka."

He bows politely, and digs for something in his leather jacket's pocket.

"Would you like a candy?"

He hopes the sweet offering will help put her at ease. The poor thing looked very tense.

While her parents, when they were alive, had warned her against taking candy from strangers, Gojo-sensei (her current "guardian") had not.

And she didn't want to offend this new person...when she didn't really have much of a way to defend herself...even if that strange man at the shrine said she had cursed energy.*]

"N-No, s-sir. Th-Thank you, th-though."

Katsumichi nods in understanding and puts the candy away. His smile never falters.

"That's alright. It's good someone taught you not to accept things so easily from strangers."

Katsumichi straightens up and stretches after becoming acquainted, looking around the plaza as he does so.

"Are you out here on your own, Shinsei-chan? Or are you waiting for someone?"

The notion of her being in potential danger did cross his mind. She seemed exceedingly timid and nervous, after all. But if this was the case, he was quite experienced in extracting people from potentially dangerous situations. He makes sure to keep an eye on their surroundings as he makes casual conversation and makes sure the kid's okay.

School? Kuroka did a double take at the teenager's uniform and shook his head at how stupid he was for missing that familiar uniform.

"Well, well, well. What are the odds of finding one of Satoru-kun's students running out and about in the wild?"

The man chuckles, a warm nostalgia tinging his eyes.

"You're welcome to turn me down, but mind if I joined you? It's been years since I've swung by my old stomping grounds. I've heard great things about the students enrolled this time around."

[*Finding that out seemed to relax her a bit.*]

"I... don't think he'd mind...seeing an old friend..."

"Knew him?" Kuroka sighs, rubbing the back of his head as he smiles, "Something like that. He was my junior back in those days."

He nods for her to come along, taking the old familiar paths back to Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School.

"He was just as much as a handful back then than he is now, though. Dunno if I gave him the idea to rebel or if it was his own. But I don't think any of us from that little cohort were a big fan of the rules."

Kuroka glances at the girl beside him, checking in on how she was doing.

"What about you, Shinsei-chan? What kind of impression does your sensei leave on you?"

"He's... eccentric..." She said softly, following him like a timid shadow.

Kuroka snorts, not minding that the kiddo was so shy. "Eccentric. Is that all?"

Kuroka cocks his head to the side as they climb the steps, letting out a quiet sigh of relief when he was still allowed through Tengen's barrier. Yeesh. Talk about bad memories.

The familiar campus soon comes into view, and Kuroka can't help but let his eyes wander. So many memories... all tainted with sorrow and tragedy by now. And even then, he had a feeling that things were still going to keep changing. If the prophecy was any indicator...

"Well, here we are!" Kuroka announces, summoning a wolf-sized hellhound by calling its name. "Amarok. Would you be a dear and hunt down Satoru-kun for us?"

The black canine bumps against Kuroka's leg before scampering off into the campus.

[*She bites her lip, nervously, unsure of how this stranger expected her to respond. He didn't seem upset at her answer, but also seemed...let down? Disappointed? Like he was expecting more?*]

Kuroka notices the Shinsei-chan's anxiety. Did something set her off?

"You okay kiddo?" he asks softly, trying to seem encouraging.

"If you have somewhere else to be, that's alright. Don't let me get in the way of your academic responsibilities."

Without thinking, he pats her head like he would with his younger cousins. "Stay in school and don't skip class, m'kay?"

John-kun? He’s a great Zenin sorcerer in his own right. He’s the only man that can out drink my father. He’ll never be clan heir though, his swagger just pales in comparison to mine… However, I’d say he’s one of my closest friends.

Most of the Hei had already left on their missions for the day, leaving only a handful of grade-two sorcerers and John Zenin to protect us… at first, they had the upper hand, then the special grade appeared…

Knowing they could not defeat the special grade as it stood, John Zenin made his binding vow. He offered up his technique in exchange for the special grade curse’s defeat…

And for whatever reason, the binding vow had that side effect…
