I am Groot

“H-Hey! Don’t touch that!!” The boy rushed towards the small plush, immediately scooping it up into this arms. “Don’t you know better to touch things that don’t belong to you!?” As usual, Syaoran was snappy, turning his back and secretly fussing over the little bear. “Damn it. I can’t lost you. Sakura would be so upset.”

Groot jumps back at that.  He only wanted to see what it was; he didn’t think he’d be snapped at.  “I. . .I. . .”  His back is facing the tree being so showing him his dictionary won’t help.

He smiles at that.  “B !”  He exclaims.  To the giant tree being it’s the best thing in the world since it means he can eventually (may be not) speak and impress Rocket.

          “that’s right, you can call me like that” she said now offering a small smile on her lips.

He smiles at that and shows her the words “I. . .never. . .said. . .B. . .before.”

He just nods his head.  One of his branch hands holds onto Akira’s as he nudges him forward.  He doesn’t want to do this alone but he doesn’t want to get Rocker involved and have it not work

Glancing at the portal, Akira was unsure but the being needed his help. He couldn’t just let Groot fall victim to the Prophet. Whispering to himself, he soon conjured his weapon and looked up to Groot, taking a hold of one branch fingertip. “We’ll find out together, okay?”

He nods and slowly starts walking with Akira to the portal.  He’s hesitant but eventually jumps in, wanting to do good for Rocket

“B?”  Surprisingly that’s the only thing that he can say other than I am Groot

He tries to call her Bev.  His mouth open but with his vocal cords he can only say.  “I am Groot.”  (I can’t say it.”  He looks sad and says.  “I.  . .can’t…speak…normal.”  

            “oh, that’s okay, you can say b? that can always work” she said, looking at him with a kind smile on her lips.

He looks to it then to Akira.  “Maybe…I…find…home…and…do…things…right.”  He says then motions to the portal.  If he can go to the Guardians from here then he can go home with Rocket

“Do things right? What do you mean, Groot?” Akira frowned, glancing over to the portal before realising. “Oh… I see.” He could already tell the need to make things right again. He was a leader, so his struggle was similar to Groot’s which lead him to place a reassuring hand against the being’s arm.

Everything happened in a blink of an eye; a car running a red light, hitting another car, and almost causing that car to fly into the sidewalk where the being was standing on the sidewalk; just several feet away from where she stood. if she hadn’t stopped it out of instinct, everything would have been much, much worse. she stood practically frozen on the spot, watching everything around her like it was in slow motion. she pulled her hand back from the air in front of her, wiping the blood from her nose. another moment passed before she moved, walking right to the center of the problem; staring up at the tree being, and ignoring everyone else. “Are you.. okay?” she asked, finally glancing around and looking at the car that caused it all, and muttered to herself: “mouth breather.”

Groot looks terrified at he seen before him.  He was just trying to find supplies to help Rocket when he saw the car run a red light.  He knows it was because of him because the man never took his eyes off him.  He’s seen battles and fights before but it was this accident that was scary for the tree, since the car almost went in his path.  “I. . .am. . .fine.”  He shows her what he was pointing to.  “Did. . .I. . .cause. . .smashings?”  He asked since it was him that distracted the being.

He smiles knowing it helped.  “I am Groot.”  He says, probably the only time I am Groot will make sense.  

          “groot, well, it’s nice to meet you. i’m beveryl, can call me bev though”

“Do…you…want…portals?”  He meant it as go into the portals.  He really doesn’t want to but if he goes in and ends up back with the other Guardians, then he and Rocket can leave !  He could do something and not be called stupid over it.  

“I am cautious of it, but if you want to go yourself then I will go with you.” Akira grinned, nodding his head as if he would reassure himself. “I’ll keep you safe out there.” Of course, he wanted to go back home to Ryuji, Ann and the others. Heck, he was even missing Morgana’s wise-cracks. Maybe if he slipped through the cracks, all of them could break through and save them. As their leader, he had to get back somehow.
