welcome to my FL/SSea/SSkies/MoTR sideblog :) I post a lot of FL stuff on main as well but I'm gonna reblog a bunch of FL stuff here too (and post my FL-related art here). I have only one character (for now), so here's some info on this guy

Well, what can I say about this guy? They were just a normal person who got into the Neath out of pure curiosity. Everything, EVERYTHING they do is driven by a burning desire to find out. Learn everything they can. Find anything they can. Do anything with it, test it out, even if it means do that on their own self. And Neath is a perfect place for this: there are many, MANY things to find out, and you can't really die that easily. Living in the Neath quickly became natural to them. They love to spend a lot of their time on the Wolfstack Docks, and they were always drawn to the Zee. And there was a chance to explore the Zee in some way before getting their own ship, that is the Icarian Cup. I think they might have forgotten what the Admiral told them during their participation with the other captain. Anyways, as you can probably guess by their title... They became a Sequencer in result. Not very unexpected as they do not have a strong mind, really. Anyways, some time later they've managed to become a captain themselves, which gave them even more opportunities to explore. And they spend a lot of time at the Zee, and Zee is a dangerous place, so they often zail down to the Dawn Machine. Ah yes, normal way to deal with their feelings. Anyways, most of the stuff that is happening to them will probably be here in screenshots anyways. And drawings! I don't know what else to tell about them, really. Well, besides the fact that not only are they very curious, but very talkative. And friendly. And friendship with a sequencer can have... some consequences

(which is also the context for the entire thing because ive earlier misunderstood Kys when he was talking about. cars. like the room on the original image looks like a small parking lot and you could put 4 cars in there. the word for car was in russian and its the same word as machine so ive just. thought of it like This at first. before realizing)

another reminder for y'all that my first language is russian (i'm ukrainian tho, and I semi-understand ukrainian too. sometimes it's weird to realize that I know three fucking languages like ????????? WHEN)

because this thing was purely inspired by the song "эфир/broadcast" by "дайте танк(!)/Give (Me) a Tank (!)"

you can only believe me that the lyrics absolutely suit the tireless mechanic, but! If there's enough feedback on this post, I'll try my best to translate this song for you allll :3x because the main incredible thing about this song and their songs in general is the lyrics

and his pose is literally inspired by the position of the hands on the clock on the cover of the song, HE'S A DORK YOU KNOW

and tbh I really love this art too, though I don't even know how I even made it in the first place akfhskfbjx

but the funny thing is that at some point this thing was looking a bit like the cover of ANOTHER album by this band "человеко-часы/man-hours" and it happened completely unconsciously

what if Tatterdemalion sometimes can be salty on purpose

one of the traits of sequencers, that you can see more than once, is that it's very difficult to truly upset them. If there's a thing that might upset them, they either resolve it right away or simply brush it off, because there are always more important things (the machine, of course)

and i still think that if it's not disguised, it WILL look unnatural to the average person

and considering that it's likely ingrained in their very mindset, Tatter might well be irritated if he notices it in himself literally all the time, about anything, about small and big things

he might well remind himself from time to time of things he dislikes or that annoys him, not only for others (which i think can be common behavior just for sequencers in general), but also for himself

because this guy definitely just can't fucking relax

and i don't feel sorry for him tbh /j

HEY HELLO AGAIN

AGAIN because tumblr threw this post into fucking LIMBO

or I accidentally created an impossible space idk

so I was thinking of making two posts with my findings in Sunless Sea game files, but I thought a little more and I'll make this a small section on my blog for this because I need to teach myself to post more frequently and freely (ESPECIALLY SINCE I FORGOR TO REBLOG THINGS SORRY)

and in general i'm pretty forgetful, so it would be a bit awkward to make small updates later

ESPECIALLY because I haven't played much of the actual game, so I might not even know that what I found is unusual

so one thing at time!

and of course the next several posts will be about the Machine in one way or another, because I'm an absolutely normal human being with a need to worship a huge artificial mechanical sun

so my very first target was the dawn machine sprite sheet

because my primary goal was the sequencer joy to copy the sigils from it, for several days I just didn't notice this huge piece on the right side

AND WHEN I NOTICED I WAS SURPRISED AS FUCK

my working theory is that this part was simply rejected at the last moment, which is why it's not used, but remained in the files because it was too late to remove it from the original sheet

although it's possible (tin foil hat theory time) this thing might appear under certain circumstances, like, because you don't need to be near the Dawn Machine very often, and when you need to get to the Grand Geode it's out of sight, any changes will remain unnoticed

and from thoughts what could become a trigger, at the moment I'm considering the event in the Fallen London when you have 7-9 Supremacy The Dawn Machine, but as I already said, I haven't played SSea itself very much, so I'll be very happy if someone helps me with this!!!!! I can help too!!!!!!!!!!

oh and here's a really quick edit, I just made it for fun and enrichment

and the next posts will probably be shorter, i just wanted to yap here again

and here I'll just leave some other things if anyone ever needs them

im adding a touch of neathbow anatomy to portia and need to know, how did your blorbos gain their neathbow soaked bits, eyes, hands, whatever. i want to hear it cause you all have really interesting takes.

Kys is actually not really touched by the original neathbow in any way but!!! he's pretty heavily influenced by my fanmade neatbow color ultramarine!!!!

It's kind of a weird mix of irrigo, apocyan and viric (not intentionally), you won't really remember the color itself and the moment you saw it, it also makes you feel kinda sleepy and also connected with dreams too, and it also makes you remember things in the back of your mind that you might not even know you have

and it's also produced by bioluminescence, which also can produce only my eldritch zee noodle The Moondial, so the color itself can't be soaked or transferred to any other object or into any other form (though it can be caught in a mirror-catch box i think)

and Kys is probably not even touched by ultramarine as such, the moon leaves a mark on the people it kidnapped (for their memories), which makes the person's pupils slightly blue, and Kys, due to constant contact with it, has almost ultramarine pupils and and even his iris has a blue tint on it (without it, his eyes would be light yellow and still glowing slightly, but this has nothing to do with the neathbow probably)

but in Parabola his clothes are indeed tinted with it in some places, and his eyes become purely ultramarine, maintaining all it effects

I even once thought that if you meet him in parabola, this experience will be very different from person to person, perhaps even from time to time, because each time you can remember different things

actually it's funny that it wasn't intentional but turned out that Ssea officers are really fit into the neathbow colors, the only thing is that next time I'll assign some of them two colors, both in meaning and in appearance, because of two cases here

- the Cannoneer looks VERY good as cosmogone (my sphere of burning gas <3), but in meaning he is actually violant, especially that he is FROM THE FUCKING IRON REPUBLIC (I don't know if he was born there of not, but I headcanon that he lived there at least for YEARS STRAIGHT) and he's into red science

- same as with the Cannoneer, peligin suits the Navigator very well in my opinion, but in meaning gant definitely suits him better, next time I'll definitely add it in the area around ​​his sigil

and of course I can't not say how ironic it is that viric suits the Mechanic and the Heir (and the Magician), the second one doesn't have this in her storyline, but considering my headcanons she is afraid of fingerkinds even more than the Magician

this is still our beloved and adored the Inscrutable Fisher (es the stag & the shark) and the Blind Pianist (Playing With Soul)

it's still pretty fun that they basically have the same portrait (though i don't really think that it fits Fisher well actually), but they're also both sequencers and the first one even BOUND some bound sharks and now a recruiter

i love my eldritch beings and how they interact with each other

to understand the scale of the Moon, because here this zee noodle doesn't seem that huge, the Leader (not Zodiac, which is Kys' officer) is 7 meters tall, so an ordinary person would easily fit on the tip of its snoot

actually i really need to start writing a document with information about all of them, post with Kys' reference is still relevant but a little outdated in details

Sooner or later, we'll all return to Irem. But every captain has visited the Khan's Heart Copper Quarter at least once.

Whether it's another move on the Chessboard on the other side of the mirror or your own will, you're leaving the Khan's Heart. All I want is to spend some time with a nice person." The stranger sets the pieces in their starting positions, offering you the first move. "Of course, you're free to throw me off the first island you come across. But wouldn't it be better to spend some time in good conversation? After all, I know that it's rare to meet a new face during a long voyage. And if you're interested... I have a couple of extra of them with me, if you'll forgive my professional humor. So, what do you say? Will you play a fair game with your old friend Harry?"

He looks at you and smiles. It's as if he's saying, "Your move, Captain." without any words.

but things happened

I wanted to illustrate this whole text in the comic, but changed my mind (I will share the unfinished pages at the end of the post) because Kys' behavior is much more unpredictable than you may think

Kys is actually very sensitive, and his reactions really correlate to his mental state and energy, this is especially very noticeable in firmament, in which he has more negative reactions than usual, and the fact that he's quite spiteful himself doesn't help

usually he starts at the good note, he's actually used to play along to the circumstances even if those are not the best ones from the start, in hopes that everything WILL BE better if he tries hard enough. he tries hard enough and he needs to get what he deserves for his tries, and if everything did get better, all is fine and plan has worked out! you get healthy relationships!!! but if nothing changes it drains him and at some point he'll either lose his temper or just refuse to continue with this

and this specific situation isn't an exception

it's likely he will play again one more time, but next time he will refuse and end all of those games, because it's not fun for him anymore

and it's not even the worst conclusion, I don't think that anyone would like their suit to be damaged with spiky brass knuckles or torn apart in multiple places

though don't be surprised that a few days later you will get a nightmare, think twice before you cross the silverers' road

and yet Kys is still very sensitive in the other way too, because he can't be mad for too long if he feels like others are trying his best for him

for the last year I really wanted to learn how to reneder faster, and it seems I succeeded this time!!

(and also a friendly reminder that everyone draws at their own pace and that's okay, but I personally had this goal and that's okay too ;3)

I didn't time the sketch itself, but I always did them very quickly (and the whole idea was quite impulsive at the very start), but I did the first version with coloring in just half an hour and for me this is a surprisingly good result

and with rendering this thing took 6 hours in total, which is also very good

I usually spend about ~30 hours on my art, which is pretty VERY BAD

and I also don't forget to note that this thingie is also inspired by this video/song (and it would be a lie if I say that lyrics doesn't fits Kys himself, poor Kys and his unlucky heart)

andddd i said i wanted to finish that one comic as fast as possible, but so far it seems like i will not finish it completely after all, it was fun in its own way, but things change huh
