“Faber Day” in Via del Campo - On the 20th of February I took part in the Faber Day, the celebration of Fabrizio De André’s birthday, in Via del Campo 29 Rosso, the music shop he used to frequent, which is now become the museum about him and the “genoese school” of songwriters. 

For this very occasion I realized the drawing “Faber Frog II”, where the shop itself is visible, which is now placed side by side with “Faber Frog I”, which I had previously created. Both of them are currently showcased in the museum, and postcards of both drawings are on sale there. 

Therefore you’re invited here to have a look at my works and get a postcard! The real spirit of Via del Campo that can be sent to anyone through an original arty froggy postcard!

Today at Faber Day - This afternoon, I am in Via del Campo 29 Rosso, “the house of the genoese songwriters”, where I’m displaying two watercolour works about Frog De Andrè, in the frame of the “Faber Day”, to celebrate Fabrizio De Andrè’s birthday (18th February). Come and have a look, if you have the chance!

Quenching the posters - On the adventurous way back after a fun night out, Ida showed a generous attention towards the posters that were thirstily looking at us from the massive walls up the hill.

Laura’s game - Laura loves boardgames. Never met someone so sincerely fond of them. I drew this one for her, and suddenly our other friends and me had turned into little coloured cards, each one with its special powers’ cards and suitable tokens. All this could finally convey the good feeling of being all part of a fun game.

Fabrizio De Andrè, 17 years later - Today it is 17 years since the passing of Fabrizio De André, great songwriter, famous throughout Italy, best known and most loved in the “genoese school”, capable of getting to the very heart of the people, with his frank language, his poetic touch, his attention to the feelings of the common people, to the life of the last ones in the social scale. In our city one still has the impression that everyone knows him at least with some degree of separation, and his presence is strong in the small lanes where he lived and which he sang in his songs, bringing new life and strength to our dialect as well.

I had the possibility to hang around in the museum dedicated to him, thanks to my Frog-drawing (see my previous post), which is there exhibited. This is another recent drawing about him.

The original drawing "Faber-Frog" will soon have the honour of being displayed in Via del Campo 29r, the home of the genoese songwriters, a shop/museum in memory of Fabrizio De André and the "Genoese school”, in the same street where the scene is set!!!

On the 6th January it will be exactly 15 years since "Via del Campo" purchased the guitar "Esteve '97" which belonged to Fabrizio, and was put up for auction by the family to raise money for Emergency, on the 6th january 2001. My Frog will represent a humble homage to our great songwriter and his guitar, which is here on display.

L'originale "Rana-Faber" avrà il grandissimo onore di essere ospitato ed esposto in Via del Campo 29 rosso, la casa dei cantautori genovesi, negozio/museo dedicato alla memoria di Fabrizio De André e della "Scuola genovese", nella via stessa in cui è ambientato!!!

Il 6 gennaio sarà il 15° anniversario dell'acquisizione da parte di "Via del Campo" della chitarra "Esteve '97", appartenuta a Fabrizio e messa all'asta dalla famiglia in favore di Emergency, il 6 gennaio 2001. La mia Rana costituirà un umile omaggio al grande cantautore e alla sua chitarra, qui esposta.

Saranno anche qui disponibili le Cartoline della "Rana-Faber"!!!

All in all you’re just another brick in the wall - Special request for a fan of Pink Floyd, homaging the cartoons of Gerald Scarfe. This time a little frog found itself in front of the this gloomy scene.

Bookowski D.D.D.D.D.Drawings - On the last Advent Sunday we gathered in the Bookowski bookshop with some sweets and prosecco to celebrate upcoming Christmas and my task was sitting and drawing on demand, besides explaining the postcards I’ve illustrated for this shop and other works.

One of the most unexpected results was the flight of a she-engineer (sitting there, but unaware of it) up to the open space, between planets and nebulas. Then, after a sketched homage to the Wall by Pink Floyd (something can be seen) we wished each other a Marilyn Christmas with a card of Santa ruffled by the wind.

Star Frogs - there’s some excitement in the air, waiting for the Force to awaken, and also my frogs have been taken over by it.
