yknow as much as content creators on tumblr beg people to reblog posts more, thereâs a handful of people that will reblog literally anything.
Thereâll be a post like âhm I canât decide whether to have nacho cheese doritos or cool ranch doritos with my lunch todayâ and some of yall will reblog it and not even add any tags or comments. And sometimes itâll be really specific to that one person??? not even necessarily private, but just.. so specific to them that I donât see why you feel the need to put it on your own blog?? Like it wonât even be a funny or interesting story or have a punchline or anything. And Iâm not even saying this is inherently a problem. I just want to study the people that do this
hi, i am a person who does this. i just reblog everything that i identify with and makes me laugh, and fan-content i like bc i love the artists and wanna support them in some way since i don't always have money.
also i'm too lazy to add tags.
ok but you realize what the difference between reblogging fan content and posts that are like âmy mom yelled at me bc I dyed my hairâ is, right? because thatâs what Iâm talking about
I guess Iâm saying a post shouldnât need to say âdo not reblogâ for you to be able to ask yourself if itâs something you should reblogging
Ok but like if you willingly post something on public social media that has a reblog on anything you post you can't be surprised if someone reblogs it. Like you can't have posts that you don't want people to reblog. If that was a feature of tumblr, where you could select certain posts to be unrebloggable as in remove the reblog option, that'd be one thing. Or if you could make certain posts private. But you can't. Anything and everything you post on tumblr can be reblogged by other people. and that's something everyone who uses tumblr is aware of. I've never understood "do not reblog" on the bottom of posts. Or people posting random mundane things and being surprised when others reblog it. Like? You consented to sharing a piece of info on a public website where anyone and everyone can indiscriminately interact with all posts the same select ways: like, reblog or comment. If you don't want someone to interact with a post you're making then why post it? Even if you're just venting or using your blog as a sort of diary or personal record and you dont intend for any posts you make to have relevance to other people, it's still a public website and people are allowed and able to interact with your content just as as much as anyone else's.
It's not my job to ask myself wether someone would want me to reblog something they chose to post. If it's public, i can interact with it how i choose. If you don't want something reblogged then dont post it to a public website where all posts can be reblogged.
you sound like the kind of person that willingly breaks your friendsâ trust by sharing private secrets they specifically asked you not to tell anyone else and you justify it by saying it was their fault for expecting you to be trustworthy in the first place
