Ahh... Of course, my heir. He was...
Well, he was my life's work. Call it narcisism to call your child a project, but that he was. I had trained him to the utmost perfection. Of course, I knew something like a Wyrm would surpass him. It was only natural a Pale being as you or I would bring forth its demise.
Ah, right, I haven't even answered your question, have I? His heritage is... complex. There was this group of bugs. I would have called them common, but... I sensed something within them. And there was this particularly elegant one. I can't quite recall her name - they were all female, in fact - but I do remember partnering with her kind. Though, it wasn't long lived. A group of bugs came not long after, and it seemed to scare them off. Of course, I had the foresight to take some of their essence for myself. Knowing my demise, I (or rather, those under me) mixed my own essence with that of many other bugs including the group of femalw bugs I mentioned, and created him.
I'm honestly surprised he didn't put up more of a fight. Though he still had slim chance at overcoming you, the fact that we has defeated so easily tells me he was holding back. I major miscalculation on my part. Believe me, if he were truly perfect...
You would have survived with barely your shell.
But alas, I suppose it was never meant to be. If not by Blackwyrm, it would be done by my own kin. What is strange is that I never anticipated you. Is the power of a Wyrm truly this powerful...? No, this is much more, isn't it? You have been sent here, haven't you? By who, that's a mystery. And maybe... that mystery is better kept from my mind for a reason.
It's not my problem anymore, truly. I might sound careless, but if it was truly all meant to come down, then I don't have any complaints. Do what you must. Destroy my kingdom, take my people, erase my history. Even kill me, if you come to that decision.
[The Eternalwyrm smiles. That is, however a Wyrm can express happiness. Or is it... Sadness? The bags under its eyes, if a shell could show such a phenomenon, seem heavy. He's old, and anxious, and tired.]
Oh, and if you ever come across an egg, forgive its trespasses, would you? And if you mustn't, then at least hear its plea. I guarantee you it won't disappoint no matter your choice.
And thank you. For helping me realize that no matter how powerful, it's all a cycle. Somehow... I find comfort in that.
