harry potter x fem!reader

it’s valentine’s day at hogwarts and the valentines ball is on tomorrow night. you and harry are both single and have no one to go with.

“hey hermione” you say, as you enter your shared dorm. the week is finally over and you have the whole weekend to relax. well you normally would, but this weekend is different. the valentines ball is tomorrow night and you still haven’t found anyone to go with. hermione is going with ron, luna is going with neville and dean is going with ginny. as you aren’t in a relationship, it’s difficult to decide who to bring. “i cant wait for tomorrow night!” hermione exclaims. it is unusual for her to get this excited about something other than homework. “aren’t you?” she asks. “not really” you reply. “i still don’t know who to go with” you say. you look around the room waiting for an answer but hermione is gone. “she’s probably gone somewhere with ron” you think.

you suddenly remember that you left your schoolbooks in the potions classroom. you decided to go down and get them as you have a small bit of work to do. as you reach the door of the classroom, you hear a scrubbing noise along with someone cursing under their breath. you instantly know who it is. “hi harry!” you say as you walk in. “hey y/n” he answers, sounding tired. “actually, as you’re here, i has a question for you” he says. “do you have anyone to go with tomorrow night?” he asks. “no, i wasn’t going to bother going on my own. why?” you reply. “we’ll, seeing as neither of us have a date, why don’t we go together?” he suggests, looking at you hopefully. “as friends, obviously” he adds, blushing. “i would love to harry! thank you for asking” you reply with a smile on your face. “perfect” he replies, “i’ll come to your dorm at 8 tomorrow night”. you nod as you head out the door. you are halfways back to the common room before you realise you never took your potions book. at least you’ve solved one problem.

xavier thorpe x fem!reader

this is one of my first fics and i just wrote it on the spot without any planning so apologies if it isn’t very good

you and your boyfriend rowan had just broken up. he accused you of cheating on him with his roommate, xavier thorpe. you repeatedly told him that you didn’t see xavier as anything more than a friend but he didn’t believe you. you hadn’t mentioned the reason why rowan had broken up with you to xavier because you knew he’d feel guilty even though it wasn’t his fault.

there was no denying that there was a connection between you and xavier but you figured that it was purely platonic. you knew he didn’t have feelings for you. he was dealing with his own break up with bianca barclay.

you are sitting in your dorm organising your clothes into your closet. your roommate, yoko, is sitting on her bed, scrolling through instagram. the situation with rowan keeps whizzing around in your head. as you finish folding your clothes, you turn to yoko and say “i’m going out for a walk to clear my head, i won’t be long”. you grab your coat and leave.

it’s a dark, cold afternoon. you decide to take a walk down by the lake to see if it’s frozen over. on your way back up, you walk through the quad and under the archway. as you walk, you hear a scraping noise coming from above. you look up to see a gargoyle falling straight down. it was going to land on top of you. suddenly, someone or something pushed you out of the way so the gargoyle landed on the hard stone with a loud bang. it all happened so fast and you weren’t quite sure who or what pushed you. as you begin to drift in and out of consciousness, you could hear someone calling your name. your eyes close and you fall into a deep sleep.

“is she going to be ok?” is the first thing you hear as you wake up. you can see someone sitting beside your bed. you turn to look and see that it is none other than xavier thorpe. “hey” he says, with a gentle smile on his face. “hi” you reply. “are you ok?” he asks. he looks worried. “yeah, i’m all good, a little sore but nothing too bad. who pushed me away from that gargoyle? i want to thank them” you ask. xavier’s ears start to go a little red and he looks down at his shoes. “uh, it was me” he replies. “thank you so much” you said. “when did it happen?” you ask him. “well it was about 4pm yesterday and it is now 11am, so 19 hours ago” he answered. “and how long have you been here?” you ask. “19 hours” he replied. “you stayed all that time?” you ask. “well of course i stayed. you’re here, where else would i be?” he answered, with a small smile on his face. “what do you mean?” you ask, confused. “i love you y/n. you don’t even have to love me back, i just wanted to tell you that. you have no idea how i feel about you” he replies. “sorry” he mumbles, blushing. “ that got a bit out of hand. i’ll leave now”. he’s obviously embarrassed by his rambling. as he gets ready to leave, you quickly put your hands on either side of his face and kiss him. it was a decision made in the spur-of-the-moment but it was worth it. even though he was shocked, he still kissed back. you stop first, and move your head back from his face to look at him. your hands are still on his cheeks. “i love you toi xavier. i’m happy when you’re here” you say. he blushes. “you blush so easily” you tell him while giggling. he wraps his arms around you and gives you a tight hug. it’s one of those hugs that gives you butterflies and make you feel like everything might be alright.

even after everything that happened with rowan, you have to thank him for pushing that gargoyle because if it wasn’t for him, you and xavier would never have ended up together. just like that, you found happiness in your world.
