Is ghost and pals considered problematic now? And what did they do? I’ve only started listening in 2024 and this is my first time actually seeing them active and all of this drama has been kinda discouraging…
Ok so tw since i will mention the same themes as ghost's new song, quote some lyrics and give out some examples that may be triggering. The triggering stuff is after the cut n all.
The new song clearly needed a tw. There may have been reasons why it wasn't included which i cant blame ghost for but you cannot deny the need of a trigger warning.
"you're responsible for your own comfort" isnt valid here, mainly because all songs have their respective tw in ghost's channel, even for the slightest little things such as insects on 2017 entomologists. There's a tw in serial contraption of malice and one in deathbody, two songs with a 8 year difference, meaning ghost wouldn't forget such important thing.
And no, you cannot say "the song gives you time to click off before the part begins" because the lyrics dont hint enough at it. For example, around 4 of my friends were surprised by the sudden lyrics in the chorus.
Not only this, but the song doesn't provide a subtle hint that itll suddenly be so straightforward about SA. The depiction of it is not the problem since i think that its mostly depicted correctly, but with the lack of a tw it should've been at least a little bit more hinting or vague.
The depictions in the song are correct or at least is what I've heard from most people, its crude and straight to the point like it should be. The song shouldn't be sugarcoating it, so it doesn't do so. That's fine and mostly how it should be, because watering down such themes isnt right. People say it should be that way so I'll agree with them.
Considering how many people I've seen not realize the meaning of the song before the chorus yet only proves this further, hell you can even find them all over reddit.
So, therefore, and obviously, you cannot just tell me it doesn't need a tw when it suddenly goes from "we're face to face in all of our differences" to "RAPEBAIT, PEDOPHILES CHILD". And on top of it all with the text on the screen later on.
Its the equivalent of me ranting and then suddenly saying "i wanna rape you". And again, do not get me wrong, the song and the depictions i think are mostly fine, vut with the lack of a tw i think they should've at least made it more vague
So, to summarize. If every song has a tw in ghost's channel, then this one also needs one, specially when is so straightforward about the themes, ghost knows its necessary to put these warnings and has put them for 9 or more years straight. Making you uncomfortable because it's supposed to do so it's not the problem, the problem is how triggering it can be for people that are not warned of the sudden topic.
Also someone misinterpreted what i meant before, this does not imply that ghost is straight up horrible and horrid for the lack of a tw, but you cannot deny the clear need of one.
Also what makes it worse is gnp fans just going around making pins and merch of the guy in the video, which is more obviously the abuser considering his smile. Using him as pfp and making fanart of him without knowing isn't a problem, but if you're well aware about it then i dont see why you would just go "heyy what if i make pins and use as pfp a rapist!!" "Yea im gonna draw a rapist!!". Or even worse, as some people I've seen in tiktok, they're shipping the guy with the depictions of victims such as the uncanny guy, etc etc. You cannot just go and say "Hey lets ship a rapist and a victim!!" when the song is clearly a vent.

‘near is a cheap copy of L 😡’ yes and he knows it. He knows it in his fucking bones. That’s the worst part, right? He was trained to be another person. And he’s not.
There is no way for him to ever fill that role because L, more than being a job, is a human. Who can never be replicated. Who died at 25 years old and left no instructions on what to do after. Near had no interest in Kira really beyond that L must solve the Kira case; he doesnt even really seem to like solving detective cases in general. When all is said and done, Near is a cheap copy of L. Because the tragedy of death note is that no character can ever exist alone, but they all will be when it’s over.
