An accounting cream-puff

There was no helping the laugh at his expression. "Er, yeah, something like that. I'm pretty sure 'RoyK' would be the username. It'd be pretty weird otherwise. Heh, Users are confusing sometimes, I know. Serves ya right, though. Your world's confusing too." ((Aaaah, such a cutie-patootie))

Ram rubs the back of his head, attempting to take it in. Eventually he decides to store it and ask Roy_K about it all later.

"Erm, well, you're the User! You'd be right over me, I'm just a program."

He shrugs, but his intrigued smile never leaves.

  Ram tilts his head. Surely he’s seen him before, maybe he’d just forgotten.

"Well I….I suppose we have. I’m Ram," he gestures to himself, tucks his helmet beneath his arm, "And you are…Glue. No wait! You’re…Cube..?"

Ram. That name did sound familiar, though Clu1 wasn’t sure why. He smiled in amusement, “Actually, I am called Clu.” He searched his memory banks for “Ram”, but came up with nothing. Not that “nothing” meant anything. Lately, his memory had been less reliable than it should have been. He realized that he had just gone very quiet in the middle of what was supposed to be a conversation, and he glanced back up at Ram awkwardly. 

"So…um…have you been here long?"

"Clu!" Ram hisses to himself, clicking his fingers and slapping his hip. "That’s right…"

He almost feels embarrassed, but he figures he was close enough. He’d wondered since the program declined knowing him if he’d actually seen him before, or if a User had more than one program in his image. Ram takes the time to try and remember as the brief silence falls between them.

Then Clu speaks again, and the actuary lifts his head. “A while, uh-huh. In fact my User got another job since he rezzed me. I’m in a different field than that job, though…which means I can’t help him as often as I’d like to.” He pauses a moment to pout, before continuing. “What does your User do, Clu?”

"My User tells me that he is in charge of ‘the company’ now," Clu fidgets, looking confused, "I am not really sure what that means, except that I don’t leave this System anymore. I still perform tasks for him, but…it’s very different. He seems different." He shrugs, looking down, "I have to admit, I am not used to staying in one place for so long."

In charge of the company? thinks Ram, perking attentively. He must be a pretty big deal! Even his very own User worked for him, and the little program already thought largely of Roy_K. 

"We share some things in common," he points out, fidgeting with his helmet. It spins around and around between his index fingers. "So you travelled? Were you a...hacking program?" The idea both mystifies and scares Ram; back in his old environment he faced hackers that were awfully aggressive.

The Glitch - Closed RP - profoundly-niave

The sky lit up the moment it started to rumble and crack. It was so dark out here, so empty and wide and terrifying. 

Ram's legs were aching like they were falling apart pixel by pixel, and perhaps that was happening but he couldn't tell; he didn't want to look down again and see the blackness that had engulfed his once light suit. Well, there was light on this suit, too, but the circuits were thick and they didn't feel like his own. He wasn't at home anymore, he wasn't in a recognizer with Flynn anymore, and he certainly wasn't suppose to be here.

It took him what felt like cycles to finally find a place that looked somewhat alive and occupied, his sore system flickering, desperate for energy. As he climbed the steep, rocky mountainside he hoped with all his might that whoever lived here had the decency to offer him some of this precious energy, and maybe even an explanation.

"Ngh-!" he grunted, hoisting himself up and over the ledge and landing in a breathless heap by what looked like a back-door. You can do it, he encourages himself, attempting to ignore the pain in his dry system as he lifted himself up onto his feet.

"Heh, well it's a safe bet his first name is Roy. And that his last name would probably start with K..." She couldn't not follow him down to sit on the floor opposite; legs folded under. "I think I've heard a Roy Kleinberg offhand once or twice? I know he occasionally steals Alan's popcorn. Heh, sounds about right."

Ram looks incredibly perplexed, chuckling apprehensively. Popcorn. What a strange word.

"His name is Roy_K, sillybit. Not Roy Kleinberg. Oh, do you think that's his Username?"

Evidently, Ram doesn't seem to mind. Instead he just dwells on how interesting the nickname 'pup' is. He sits on the floor and props his head up on his knuckles.

"None taken," he says softly. "..My User's name is Roy_K. I don't know his Username."

"Nice to meet you, Ram! I do believe I've heard of you before.... Hm... Ha! Not the most interesting name by any means... Anyway, um. Yeah, well, most people just call me Rinzlet."

A User had heard of him before? Perhaps Roy_K spoke about his program to others. The thought makes Ram happy, and his smile brightens.

"Rinzlet? If that ain't a cool name I don't know what is!"

"Greetings, User! It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Ram."

The program beams politely, and though he was feeling rather bashful, he didn't want to show it.

"I bet you have a really neat name."
