There was an anonymous ask that I unfortunately can’t find anymore, but it asked why Monarch created the kingdom!

Similarly to Caine, they are a creative ai, and the images fed to it were chess and fantasy themed! They created the kingdom because that’s his perceived programming.

Anyway, sorry for being gone for so long! I was busy with finals for school and I wanted to wait for me to watch the finale before I finalized things for the au! Now that I’ve seen it, I’ll maybe do more stuff now! Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything until the YouTube release!

While I make progress, have some silly art! I’ve improved on my artstyle and made slight adjustments to the character designs! Hope this suffices for now!

Chapter 1 - New Dusk

Design for the abstractions! I made them vaguely bug-like in reference to Kinger’s love for them, but not too obvious what bug is being used to still have the idea that the abstractions are all the same, which adds to the horror of losing yourself to the monster. It also turned more serpentine, which I guess fits the idea of a raging monster in a fantasy castle

Caper has a hard time using his legs due to his worsening mental stability, so Monarch made a cane for him! He uses it to help himself walk when his legs decide the don’t want to cooperate. He forgets where it is a lot, so Monarch has to constantly resummon it for Caper.

The other doodles are Shabben catching Caper when his legs gave out and Gwyn holding him like how straight guys hold fish. Caper is very vulnerable when in this state, so he usually sticks around places that have many things to sit on or are safe to sit on the floor. Gwyn can and will take advantage of this.

I also drew a little wind-up bee! It was one of the first things that Caper made and he cherishes it with all of his heart. It’s name is Honey

Concept art of the Kingdom! It’s basically the same as the original Circus, but with a few key changes!

The tent is replaced with the castle, a vast and lavish building filled with Every amenity you could think of. It is the main home of the Kingdom residents and is the main location for the AU.

The carnival is replaced with the village, a quaint area filled with NPCs that live their non-existent lives there. There are constant festivals and fairs happening, so there’s always something to do!

The Sun and Moon are swapped. Sol is a very romantic and loves putting on a show, while Luna is a lot more spunky and annoyed that she is often outshone by Sol.

It is almost always night in the Kingdom. Monarch claims it is that way to ensure a calming atmosphere for his residents. Luckily, there are dimly lit torches scattered all over the place so that the humans don’t get lost.
