Pleasure to meet you. I'm Dick Grayson, an acrobat - specifically, an aerialist - at Haly's Circus. Some people at the circus call me Gray, but feel free to call me whatever you want. Within reason. I'd rather not be called Elephant Toenail. ( More information on RP character in "Backstory" )

Yeah I never really pictured myself as Batman either, I was definitely a lot lighter and didn’t use the scary voice quite as much.

Well Damian is quite the serious kid, to the point were its just down right adorable really, so yeah theme music definitely not his thing.

Darn. Still, does sound entertaining, like you have lots of fun with your siblings.

And a less imposing Batman would certainly be a sight to see.

*raises his hands in a jokingly defensive gesture*

Hey, in my defense, don’t know him. Though bats aren’t very chipper creatures, so it makes sense. Pretty decent for a guess.

*pauses momentarily, expression impish*

But I bet he could use a bit more corniness. Would be less broody then. 

Yeah no feathers at least not on the Robin costume, my first Nightwing costume well I’m still getting crap for that one. 

Trust me I’ve been trying for years Holy this and that Batmans, terrible puns and I even made a theme song but Bats never really bought into it.

And then when I became Batman I couldn’t get my Robin to buy into it. 

*shakes his head and lets out a wistful sigh*

I see - doubt that it was that bad, though. 

Sounds like a pity, and wow, I can't really picture you as the Batman. I don't think you look particularly dark or menacing right now.

*blinks, tilting his head to the side* 

Huh. The Robins are kids, right? I'd think a kid would love having a theme song at least, even if they didn't really like the puns.

(( In my mind, Dick Grayson probably has one of the worst tastes in fashion, but since he's pretty, he usually gets away with it. Somehow, to the amusement of everyone else, he still doesn't realize that he can't dress himself fashionably, even if he tries. Even when going undercover, the others have to pick out his costumes. ))

*smiles* I'd love to preform again. It's been a while though but it'd be fun. *grins*

I'm sure you'd do great; just like riding a bike, you never forget. Alyssa, the other acrobat, had to leave, so I've been going solo - would be pretty nice to have someone else up there as well.

Maybe you'll get to design your own costume - try to avoid feathers though, or they'll give you something generic instead. I don't see the problem, I think they've just got some enmity towards feathers. *laughs*

Only if you're not in the air, or with the elephants. But I think it depends more on the mindset. If you're in the audience, I think it's different. *shrugs* We're trying to change it up, but that's not too easy seeing as we haven't gotten any new members in a while.

*smiles* Well if you ever meet Barren you're in for a treat... *laughs* What is Haly's like now? It's been so long since I've been back near there....

Haly's has... Seen better days, I guess. We're getting ready to do a lot more performances though, for the holiday season. It should help a lot.

We have a few people who always come to the shows whenever we're in town, though. Don't know who they are, but it's good to know they're there. There's the tall, dark man in the middle rows who blends in surprisingly well for someone who's obviously rich - that usually stands out pretty glaringly - and the boy who got a hug on the night of the Fall. It's great that we still have fans; I don't know how well off we'd be without them.

He does have red hair... *grins* He's not french. He's pretty much a male version of you Babs. *laughs*

Hmm, how did I guess. *chuckles* Not French? Oh well, I bet he's a charmer anyhow.

My Babs? I don't actually know anyone by that name. Distinct lack of them at Haly's. *smiles wistfully*

*raises a brow* Oh? Who's that? Is he nice- well, I don't think you'd be very happy if he wasn't, huh. *laughs, shaking his head* He your secret French lover that wants you to elope with him away to his homeland? That would be a story.

I bet he has red hair. Though I don't believe that's a common color in France, I'd have to go ask Jacques.

Nice to meet you, Rachel. I'm Richard Grayson, at your service. Can call me Gray, though. *bows, winking semi-jokingly* Nice name, where're you from? Since I'm pretty sure I don't have any beautiful, long lost sisters and that I'm not a girl here, I'll say separate universe?

Yeah that makes since, we were the first Robin after all. To avenge mom and dad’s death even the name was because mom called us a robin.  

Being a superhero is the best job in the world! I mean don’t get me wrong I spend a majority of my life bruised and battered, I’ve got scars on my scars, I don’t get vacations and I’ve gone days at a time without sleep but knowing that you saved someone’s life it outweighs any of that. 

Also you get to meet pretty cool people doing this job.

I remember her calling me, er, us that. Kind of miss it.

*smiles dimly before shaking his head and brightening up* 

But it sounds like you really love it - can’t blame you, sounds pretty amazing. Makes sense that it would outweigh the pain; even when stopping things like petty theft or bullying wherever we are, if I get beaten up, it doesn’t bother me as long as the other person is okay. I think it’s just nice to know someone’s got your back, and that they care, so it’s good for everyone.

And first Robin? So, there’s a few? That what you meant by siblings? If Batman cares for all of them, do you call your workplace the Nest or the Cave or something equally corny? 

*barely supresses a chuckle at the image of a character as cold as the Batman is told to be surrounded by kids dressed like birds* 

Yeah there’s been five of us but we’re not all Robin at once, I myself haven’t been Robin since I was 16. The suit gets passed down and modified by whoever wears it.

I still kept the bird motif though, I go by Nightwing now.
