The prison break Part 3 The Epic escape and long term partnership?
As the officers began running towards Fox, he quickly grabbed Dave, tossing the poor guy over his shoulder and wrapped another arm around Rupert’s neck, pulling his taser out from his holster, making the guards stop. “Want him to have all his nerves intact better stay back.”
The officers froze as Fox quickly made his way to the closet door, Henry opened it up so Fox could get in with the two hostages.
Once he was in Henry closed the door behind him, locking it as Fox cuffed the two officers with their own hand cuffs.
“alright, this should buy us some time, unless you think we should keep one with us.” Fox suggested.
“Remember you’re still the boss. I’m just gonna make sure things stay on track.”
Henry nodded confidently as he looked around seeing his options, a belt of grenades and a open air duct they could get into, and with Fox’s strength and flexibility he should be able to move around with a hostage relatively fine.
“I think we should take Dave. Rupert’s a bit to….fiesty.” Henry suggested as he grabbed the chair and moved it under the duct.
Fox tossed the newbie officer over his shoulder and nodded. “Alright, sounds good. But uhh…which way are we going?” Fox asked seeing the duct would go in only two directions from where they were at as they crawled inside.
Seeing they had two directions to go, and Fox gets Dave situated as they crawled in the ducts. Henry thinks on which way to go.
“Where to boss..?” Fox whispered, giving Henry a wink once Henry looked back at him, Henry decided they should take the ducts heading to the right until they found a loose panel which Henry kicked out since he lead the way.
Coming out of the ducts they found themselves on the rooftop with no officers up there at the moment, looking around it was pretty much a straight way down and they’d be home free. “Hmmm…so…how are we getting down there?” Fox asked making sure Dave was properly secure over his shoulder. Henry noticed a crate and checked it out, finding a few things inside.
There was a bag that looked like a parachute bag, two plungers, a jet pack, and a giant rope harpoon device.
Looking at their options, Fox grabbed the bag and took a look tok make sure it was a parachute to find it wasn’t, it was just a backpack with a weird pull string attached to it for some reason, Henry grabbed the plungers kinda messing with them to see how well they stick.
Dave though slowly came to and began to kick a bit and start struggling a bit. “Ah- h-hey put me down!- I-i won’t try stopping you guys if you let me go…!” Fox sighed as he sat Dave down and covered his mouth with his hand. “Ok, first things first. Keep dave quiet.” Fox tried to keep Dave still and get him to calm down, hoping their small friendship they formed can help ease things over.
“Hey, hey Dave, listen to me man, we’re not gonna hurt you, we just wanna get out of here, nothing more nothing less. If you at the very least cooperate with us, we’ll let you go the moment we’re in tge clear and things die down. I’ll even give you some money for your troubles.”
Fox spoke with a bit of softness to his voice, he honestly didn’t want to hurt Dave or get him hurt, and Dave seemed to kinda pick up on that as he slowly stopped struggling by and was now just trying to control his panicked breathing a bit and slowly began to nod after a bit of thought.
Henry came over with some tape to keep Dave quiet. Which definitely made the poor guy more nervous but Fox reassured him the best he could. “It’s only temporary remember that, plus I’ll pay ya after it’s all said and done.”
Dave just looked at Henry and Fox for a moment before slowly nodding, Fox got up letting Henry gag Dave real quick as he checked out the harpoon rope device and noticed the jet pack. “Why the heck do the police have a jet pack?? This seems a bit to…high tech for a in the middle of nowhere prison.”
“Do…do you have experience with a jet pack?” Henry asked lifting a brow as he grabbed the plungers.
“Yeah, I’ve used it a few times, I can do the basic movements and the like. If I’m using that then it’s gonna be a bit tricky with Dave in tow. And probably would be easy to be spotted if ima be honest, but…..”
“Could get us a pretty penny if we brought it with.” Fox suggested Whuch made Henry’s eyes immediately light up.
“In that case we’re taking that…! But if you’re not gonna use it to get down from here, what else are you gonna use? The rope thing?”
“Yep. And….im guessing your gunna try those plungers?” fox looked at the plungers in Henry’s hands a bit concerned and VERY skeptical. Especially since Henry just simply nodded with a little smile. “Yeah, these are pretty sticky. I think they should be able to hold my weight long enough,”
“I…” Fox just stood there for a moment before looking at Dave who had a brow raised and also looked back at Fox in unison, both feeling like Henry was a bit crazy with this idea.
“Hey it’s just me using this I’m not that heavy, so it should work.” Henry said confidently but Fox and Dave had a very different look on their faces.
“Yeah…you kept making creaking sounds from the ducts, not exactly a big vote of confidence there.” Fox looked even more skeptical.
“Come on they look like they’re in good condition!” Henry showed off the toe plungers, they DID appear to be in rather prestige condition for plungers.
“Hmm….fine, but the MOMENT you think you’re about to fall I’m using the jet pack to get you.” Fox said as he got the rope harpoon ready and fired it off into the distance seeing it hit a rock pretty far from the jail.
Seeing it hit a solid target, Fox gave it a good tuck or two to make sure it wouldn’t fall out of the rock, and it seemed pretty steady. Once he had Dave secured in his arm he grabbed the wire and waited for Henry to go down first, not willing to risk him falling.
Henry giving Fox and Dave a thumbs up and doing a quick test on how sturdy the plungers he found are, began to scale down the wall at a rather steady pace which surprised Fox and Dave a bit, and got to the bottom safe and sound.
Fox a bit baffled stood there for a moment in shock before snapping out of it and pointed to where his wire was for Henry to meet him there, Henry vegan to run off to the end of the wire as Fox and Dave began to zip down the line, Fox wearing gloves didn’t burn his hands on the wire sitting in the hot sun and eventually got to the end of it, landing safely on the ground with Dave and giving Henry a high five when they met up.
“That was….oddly smooth.” Henry said chuckling a bit.
“We’re not out of the woods yet, we got spotted by four guards, Dave here being one of them, we gotta keep moving.” Fox looked at Dave who began to slightly squirm a bit nervous on what was going to happen next, yelping a bit when fox hoisted him over his shoulder.
“We can’t risk Dave pointing us out so…we’re gonna have to keep him with us for awhile.” Fox sighed a bit scratching his cheek a bit.
“Well, that’s fair I guess, Dave’s a good guy so shouldn’t be to hard keeping him with us for awhile.” Henry gave a thumbs up before the two ran off into the desert, fleeing the prison with Dave as their hostage.
Fox lead Henry back to one of his hideouts due to Henry’s former home likely being under constant surveillance. The hideout was a pretty nice apartment, he had middle floor apartment in the middle of the hallway so it seemed the least suspicious spot for an apartment hideaway.
Fox had been watching and listening in on the news. Seeing his fake ID he had to give the police when arrested worked and he was being looked for as Benjamin Tomas.
Henry was relaxing, trying to figure out what was going on with his things and helping out around the apartment however he could.
Dave meanwhile was being treated rather well for a captive, being fed, helped cleaned, and even given his own room, where he can be uncuffed and freely roam around, but it is sound proof so he can’t call for help if he tried to. But he got along with Fox and Henry well enough so he didn’t make much of a fuss, he might’ve even started considering them as potential friends if they let him go after all of this.
Though being let go woild be the least of his thoughts, as one evening, fox came into Dave’s room looking a bit concerned, which definitely caught Dave for a loop.
“Hey fox- what’s…wrong?” Dave tilted his head standing up from his bed having been watching some shows.
“Your…gonna wanna see the news.” Fox simply gestures Dave to follow walking out the door, not having Dave be ready to be restrained.
Confused, and worried, Dave followed out just in time to see the news in the living room tv, he was now being concerned a potential conspirator in helping Henry and fox escape so flawlessly.
Dave stared at the tv in total shock and horror. But he noticed Rupert almost going for the reporter but being held back by two other officers. Least some people didn’t believe this conclusion.
Dave just stared in silence, trying to put words together but couldn’t, before feeling a hand gently touch his shoulder, it was Fox. “Guess you’re with us now, we got your back.”
Henry does the same but does a little tap, not keeping his hand on Dave. “Yeah…our way of saying sorry for…dragging you into this mess.”
Dave smiled, but his lips were shaky, he himself began to shake as tears welled up in his eyes.
Fox made a quick text to someone before putting his phone away and pulled Dave in for a hug. Even pulling Henry in to help comfort Dave.
He began to quietly sob into Fox’s shoulder, clinging to him tightly.
After a solid hour of crying, Dave managed to calm down a bit. Lifting his head up looking at Henry and Fox.
“Thanks guys…for not just…tossing me out after I wouldn’t be a good hostage anymore…”
“We aren’t like most chumps. Think you knew that already.” Fox chuckled patting Dave’s back.
“Guess you’ll be learning how to be a thief like me davey.” Henry tried to joke a bit as he let go of the two and backed up with a little shrug.
“Heh…guess so. Hope I can do a good job.” Dave smiled softly as Fox lets him go, but he didn’t for a second to long before blushing and letting go finally.
“Uh-sorry!” Dave looked away scratching his cheek before fox chuckled putting a hand up.
“Not the first time someone took to long hugging me. Trust me it’s not a big deal unless you make it weird. I’ll go make us some good dinner huh?” Fox smiled before walking away to go cook.
Henry meanwhile offered his hand to Dave. “Guess you’re part of the team now, so…welcome to the team.”
Dave turned to Henry a bit nervous as he looked at his hand, before gently holding it and shaking his hand, a soft smile grew on his face. “Thanks for having me. Henry.”
Dave and Henry had a moment smiling at each other before Dave’s face light up. “So….im guessing we plan to still something soon? I heard you two talking about some possible new targets.”
Henry froze for a moment. “Uhhhhhhhhhh-“
