This thing is called a “Recorder”, even though I see no way to switch it on and record anything. It’s also classified as an instrument, but the way Snatcher and Bow Kid reacted when I blew wind into it suggests that it’s actually a secret torture device.

Contractually Obligated to be their friend: Snatcher reads to the kids a bedtime story from his favorite book. Of course he had to skip some parts and reword some lines so the kids can follow along. The kids thought he was a big theater nerd but can see why he was attached to the character "Mephistopeles"
