[The dive barrage quickly moves into the same attacks from before, albeit faster and tailored for several targets, leaving the wayward group scrambling to get out of the way]

NICK: WE GOTTA STRIKE WHILE WE CAN!

GORDON: GOT IT!

Why are there corspes what the fuck did this place do oh wait I know what it did FUCKING EXPERIMENTS USING OTHERS BUGS AS LIVING RESOURCES!!!!!!!!!!!

BENREY: this is what I was talking about. Nasty place. Bad vibes

GORDON: hush for a moment...

BENREY: why you hushing me? Uncool bro

GORDON: I think I hear something..

[At that moment, the unmistakable noise of the Soul Master’s teleportation is heard. It slams to the ground right next to them, before beginning a barrage of slamming attacks]

GORDON: SHIT

COOMER: LOOK OUT GORDON! IT HAS A DIVE MOST DESOLATE!

Omg everyones in! Quick yall need to help gordan!!!!

NICK: We’re on it.

[Coomer and Benrey both descend into the hole, using their wings to slow their fall as much as they can in the rain. Nick readies himself to jump in]

DARNOLD: would you like any help getting down there, Nick? You don’t seem to have any,.,uh.. wings..

NICK: oh I’ll be fine! I’ve gotten pretty used to navigating perilous cliffs like this!

DARNOLD: well if you insist

[Darnold floats down himself, after which Nick makes his own way down, latching onto pillars to slow his descent]

THE HOLE! -🧸

[Gordon lands at the bottom of the pit in a rather ungraceful way, on his feet yet stumbling forwards. The pit is full of the empty shells of many bugs, a rather disturbing sight for the young vessel]

GORDON: ok, ow..

[The vessel’s companions peek over the edge of the pit, looking down at their friend]

NICK: GORDON! Are you alright?!

COOMER: That was quite the fall, Gordon!

GORDON: I think I’m ok guys. It’s kinda freaky down here though.

BENREY: We’re comin down dude. Bro. Gonna help.

(Apologies for the lack of things. I’m taking a little break from this for just a lil!)

You got this, I believe in you!

[Gordon seems to finally make headway when the master screams and bursts, leaving a shower of light. He relaxes, taking a second to lean on his nail and stare at the glowing shape before him. His friends stand behind the still locked door, placing weapon and claw under it. Darnold raises a hand to count them off]

DARNOLD: One!

[Gordon stands up straight. He approaches the light]

DARNOLD: Two!

[Gordon touches the light. He’s risen into the air, the soul colored energy absorbing into him, seemingly]

DARNOLD: Three!

[Just as they all push on their weapons, a loud screaming emanates from the outside. The master is not yet dead. It raises up before slamming into the ground with a tremendous force, shattering the glass below Gordon and sending him into the pit below. The door is forced open by the combined efforts, and the traveling group runs outside in a hurry]

NICK: GORDON?!

DARNOLD: OH DEAR

BENREY: THATS. NO. FAIR

COOMER: GORDON! THE HOLE!

May b u can bite through the bars? Or like squeeze thru them?

DARNOLD: it doesn’t look like we could do that...

DARNOLD: although... maybe....Benrey, do you have a spare Lance?

BENREY: got as many as I want bro. Need one, friend?

DARNOLD: yes please!

[Benrey brings another Lance out of nowhere. He hands it to Darnold]

DARNOLD: now this may be a long shot, but maybe, we can pry this door open! Benrey, put the end of your Lance under it. Nick, do that with your nail. If it won’t hurt you Coomer, please do it with your claws. I’ll do it with this lance!

COOMER: an excellent plan, Darnold!

NICK: this may work!

BENREY: poggers

Hey gordan howre you keeping up?

[Gordon is knocked back by a slam attack before he can even respond, taking a moment to regain his composure and run at the master again. For a bug with few ways of expressing his emotions, his fierce determination is very clear. Wisps of shadow fly off him as his anger rises]

GORDON: DIE ALREADY!

NICK: should we be worried about that? Because that doesn’t look good

BENREY: empty

GORDON: thanks guys

GORDON: I CAN TELL

[The soul master launches attack after attack. Gordon remains determined]

Benrey, Nicl yall know this place right? Is there another way in??????

BENREY: there’s no other way in there. Locked... bad...

NICK: you’d probably have to fly to get over there. I don’t have wings, and the others won’t be flying at all in this rain. There’s no cover from it that leads to there. We’re at a loss here...

GORDON: WOAH

[Gordon dashes to the side as the floating being throws balls of soul energy at him. Something feels wrong about them, especially when compared with Gordon’s own magic. The Soul Master hovers up and surrounds himself with the corrupted soul balls, moving at Gordon with malicious intent. He jumps over a ball and manages to get a slash in, before another one nails him in the chest and knocks him back. He skids on the slick glass ground, managing to land on his feet somehow]

GORDON: what is up with this magic...

[A shape appears in the distance, rising over the tops of city towers. It glows white, before teleporting before Gordon]

SOUL MASTER

[Gordon steps through the doorway and into the rain. The moment he’s all the way through, bars slam down behind him, separating him from the others]

GORDON: Wh-?!

NICK: Gordon!!!

BENREY: bad vibes door bad vibes door

DARNOLD: are you going to just keep going on with the bad vibes without elaborating??

COOMER: well gentlemen, I believe we are in quite the pickle! Gordon may have to fight whatever’s out there without us.

Did you find the boss already?

[The team reaches a room containing a few glass containers of glowing orbs. Dim light comes in through the windows, and the only way forwards seems to be through a doorway to an outdoors area, where rain pours down]

BENREY: Really really bad vibes here. Really bad. Bad bad bad

GORDON: Judging on Benrey’s reaction and the way out there.. looks. There’s got to be something dangerous out there.

DARNOLD: Well... no turning back from here is there?

NICK: Looks like the only way is forwards.

COOMER: Onwards, Gordon!

GORDON: ok...

DARNOLD: I’ll be just fine! I have magic on my side! And potions and charms!

BENREY: No. Not fine. Bad vibe. Really bad

COOMER: Sentry Boper are you alright? You’re looking a bit.. blue

BENREY: no
