Today I faced a whole heap load of fears and had to just go for it.

This is me at Go Ape in Peebles Scotland, a zip wire adventure through the forest. it’s pretty amazing and a LOT more than I expected. It scared me, I am not afraid to admit. We were sometimes over 150 feet in the air and traveled down zips wires that were up to 50 meters long. We had to crawl through wooden tunnels suspended above the forest floor and walk along tightrope with just a safety harness on. *note- the security briefing is intense and thorough*

So, that there is the reason I had to do this despite the fact I was absolutely terrified. Safety measures state that you need 2 adults with 3 children so I had to go-I could not let my children miss out on an amazing adventure just because I felt scared. When you have children you have to know that they watch your every move and I am always telling them to keep going and trying even if they are afraid-I couldn’t then do that could I? There I was, me and a harness and a lot of feet up a tree. #ohshit I am not too proud to say I swore a lot, I was shaking like a leaf and when we went down the 50 meter zip, I screamed for the first third of it-then I noticed how amazingly beautiful it was and I shut up and just enjoyed the ride, literally.

So that’s life folk. It is going to be scary, you’re going to want to avoid doing the things that make your knees knock and your heart want to explode, but you must.

Take the chance, face your fears and have the ride of your life.
