Ultimate Comics: Fallout is a comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics that debuted in July 2011 as part of the second re-launch of the Ultimate Universe. The story itself deals mainly with the aftermath of the Death of Spider-Man, and is written by Brian Michael Bendis, Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer.

It’s a short mini series that will most definitely cause the feels to begin. So if you’re not comfortable with crying over fictional characters or having feelings for them, you might as well gtfo.

Comic Cavalcade

From 1943 to 1948, Comic Cavalcade was published as a superhero comic.  Unlike other anthology comics of the day, there were three stars featured: Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern.

Many stories in Comic Cavalcade were scripted by other than the characters regular writers, for deadline reasons. For example, Batman writer Bill Finger would occasionally write Flash stories for Comic Cavalcade when regular Flash writer Gardner Fox was occupied with other projects.

The Man of Steel Masterpost

Superman, the Last Son of Krypton who was sent to earth as baby and grew to Man of Tomorrow with awesome powers and abilities, and who vowed to use for them for benefit of humanity. Superman has fascinated scholars, with cultural theorists, commentators, and critics alike exploring the character’s impact and role in the United States and the rest of the world. Umberto Eco discussed the mythic qualities of the character in the early 1960s, and Larry Niven has pondered the implications of a sexual relationship the character might enjoy with Lois Lane, Grant Morrison likened him unto a modern day sun god and parallels have even been drawn between Superman and Jesus Christ. Superman placed first on IGN’s Top 100 Comic Book Heroes in May 2011 and though he has somewhat fallen out of favor in the modern era of comic books Superman is still unquestionably the father of all superheroes.

Batman: Death and the Maidens Masterpost

I’ve been telling people that they need to go read Death and the Maidens for a long, long time. Now, at last, I’ve decided to take action and make a masterpost myself.

This story is most famous for its introduction of Ra’s al Ghul’s eldest daughter, Nyssa Raatko. But as well as creating a fascinating character with Nyssa’s brutal quest for revenge against her father, Death and the Maidens also contains a sweeter story, that of Bruce Wayne and his own family. Written by Greg Rucka with art by Klaus Janson, Batman: Death and the Maidens is a riveting tale of betrayal and pain but above all, family.
