Vox!

This one’s the fault of @allalternate and Stange (whose blog I don’t know oops) and me coming in on a convo about Kerry/V in the 20s.

I need to work this out more but he’s actually a netrunner from the 2020s; he was pals with Alt and through her ended up hanging around Samurai. He and Kerry had a casual thing going for more or less the entire time they knew each other. Vox was looking for Alt after she 'died’ and at some point stumbled on something shady. Somehow, this resulted in him ending up cryogenically frozen. Probably the corp meant to unfreeze him later but something happened and they never got around to doing it - so he stayed frozen like that for 50-something years.

Fast forward to 2074, something happens and, oops, he gets unfreezed. He deals with this very rationally, don’t listen to anyone (Johnny) who says otherwise. He assimilates back into Night City and in the midst of trying to get used to 50+ years of technological progress and the new netrunning ways, he picks up merc work (guns, at least, are still guns) and eventually meets one Jackie Welles. The rest, as they say, is history.
