“Why not? Sir likes it and so do lots of grown ups. I want to be like you.”
“You really don’t wanna be like me.”
nerleknows:
“Why? We hear about people thinking and having a voice that tells them when things are wrong.”
“And that’s really not the same thing. You should really see some sorta shrink.”
caged-rabbit:
“Okay! How come I can have grown up drinks in cookies but not normal?”
“Maybe you shouldn’t be having the cookies either... just a suggestion.”
caged-rabbit:
“Why? Sir says those are the best kind and police people deserve the best for being good at protecting us, right?”
“I think I’ll save ‘em for after work.”
nerleknows:
“We cannot make them stop talking. They are in our head. Does Matt-person not have those?”
“That’s really not normal.”
caged-rabbit:
“Do all police people like cookies?” he asked, handing them over. “I can make more with whiskey in them next time.”
“Maybe. They just all like free food.” He chuckled, taking a few cookies to give to other officers when he got back to the station. “Whiskey cookies? Maybe just stick to sugar cookies, kid.”
caged-rabbit:
“Sugar,” the boy replied, “I made some but Sir doesn’t want any so I’m gonna give them to other people.”
“I can take some off your hands... take ‘em back to the station for the others.”
caged-rabbit:
“Hi, Mr. Police man!” He held out a cookie. “You want some?”
“Hey, kid.” Matt smiled, crouching down to the boy’s level as he saw the cookie being eagerly handed out. “What kind of cookie is it?”
“Why? We will give Matt-person other organs to use while we play with the abs. Looker says they are like appendid-ixes. You do not need them.”
“I’m special. I need all of ‘em. These people you’re talkin’ to need to lay off.”
“Hm…person has nice abs. We think we need to take them. Erik thinks so too.”
“Actually, I think I’m okay for now. Bein’ cut open kinda affects my workload.” Matt grinned, looking over at Zeven. What had gotten into the kid now?
A manic laugh left him as the kick collided with the side of his body. Already, he could feel bruises forming. Wonderful! “Oooo~ Looks like I did. I bet you can hear them at night. Do you dream about them? Does wifey make you breakfast in bed in your dreams?”
The laugh made something in his stomach turn. He didn’t feel so good all of a sudden. “Don’t talk about things you know nothin’ about.” The older man spat, punching Pup in the face once more before he felt his knuckles starting to split. Something told him that this was wrong, but he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t stop.
His head spun as he slammed into the wall, body doubling over from the punch. He coughed, breath leaving his body for a few moments before it returned along with a chorus of laughter. “Did I strike a nerve, family man?”
The idiot wasn’t going to stop. He was going to carry on until he got himself killed. Hearing another snarky comment, Matt began to see red and clenched both fists tightly. “Shut up!” He roared, kicking the other back to the ground and hoping that he’d stay down.
“Trash wins! Trash wins! I beat the cops! I have a family I don’t need a ghost whisperer to talk to!”
“You lose ‘em or something. Poor police man. They went away, no more family, no more family. I’m trash and I have one.”
“Say one more word. I dare you.”
“What’d you do to ‘em? They leave you? I would. Boring asshat.”
“I said, I don’t have a family.”
