Title: "The Weight of it All"
A lot of people have always told me that my poem is beautiful, yet depressing. I agree. My poetry usually comes in waves, like my emotions, like life. When I write the words down on paper, or type it out on my phone, everything is unfiltered. My poetry is like a brain dump of the messy thoughts swirling inside of my head.
Poetry gives people a voice. Maybe even a voice they tend to not utilize often in public spaces, but can share publically without actually having to speak. I admire poets, I follow many. And yes, a lot of their work is "depressing". However, to me - that's when the lines are the most real. They're so raw. If you took the time to slow down and imagine yourself in an emotional situation and then read the words again, maybe then you can feel that person's heart.
As always, I encourage those who read my blog - share a poem. Via message or on this post ❤️🖋️
