Do you ever just
remember
that The Legend of Korra
was a real show
and that American television
will probably never
have anything like The Legend of Korra
like ever
ever
again?
Do you?????
Nerdist just revealed the cover for The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars Library Edition, by artist Heather Campbell with colors by Vivian Ng.
The book is scheduled to go on sale March 26, 2019 and will be available for pre-order on Amazon on Monday, August 6.
Messed around with that old unused Zuko promo sketch. Thought it would be fun to add some color and lighting. Turns out it *was* fun. #zuko #avatarthelastairbender
“I don’t need bending. But you want it. I don’t need it. I’m enough. I work so hard, I do so much, I have to be enough. But you want it.”
——- Catch me bringing the angst, cause that’s how I roll. A little gift for @threehoursfromtroy from her fic, Catching Her Breath. ♡♡♡
I loved the interaction and reassurance that Korra provides to Asami, but I really wanted to capture the struggle that Asami goes through on her own about not being a bender. That struggle that so many of us feel, to find worth and value in ourselves, wishing we were so much more than we are.
Asami draws so much of her own self-worth from what she does, what she can produce and make with that brilliant mind and hands of hers, but she doesn’t see her intrinsic value as a human being, for just being herself, and I love how you captured that internal wrestling between desire and reality.
I’m so glad that she has Korra’s support to help her recognize her own raw talent and beautiful heart behind those skillful fingers, that she really is enough, not for what she does, but for who she is.
♡
You put this all very well! Asami Sato is such a powerful character to me, for how much she excels in the face of natural disadvantages, how easy it would be for her to coast or to get bitter at the world only for her to rededicate herself to doing what’s RIGHT… but lady has to have some self-doubt. That engineer mind of her can’t help but think, how much more could I do if only I were a bender, if only, if only… But like you said, like Korra says, Asami’s worth isn’t down to what she does, but the amazing person she is. We all just need to be reminded of that ourselves from time to time, don’t we? As for myself… this whole lovely event, all these fanarts and stories and the like, they’ve helped remind me of that, too. <3 Thank you!Â

Team Avatar together from beginning to end.
I still don’t know why they’re even friends. It’s not until mid-Book-3 that I even kind of sort of believe it.
There’s a fic on fanfiction(.)net that I’ve kept tabs on for years to see if it’s been updated or not. While I’m no longer even in the fandom it’s written for, it just has one of the greatest storylines I’ve ever read. Last time it was updated was 2011.
The other day, I decided to reread the entire thing and leave a very in-depth review of what I thought of each chapter. I also mentioned how I started reading it when I was 13 and am now 21, but always came back to see if it was ever finished because I loved it so dearly.
Today, said author sent me a private message saying that her analytics showed that the story was still getting views even after all these years, but no one ever bothered to leave reviews other than “update soon!!!”, so she never felt motivated enough to finish it. She said that me reviewing every single chapter with lengthy paragraphs made her cry and meant the world to her. She also mentioned that she felt encouraged to write the two remaining chapters needed to complete the story and that she would send me a message the night before she updates the fic.
I’m literally sobbing. I’m so excited :’)
Please always remember to leave a review when reading fanfiction!!! It means a lot to a writer.
Seriously, this is what keeps us going; YOUR COMMENTS.Â
And you think my ranting about it is just being salty! It’s not! Reviews can mean the difference between feeling motivated and feeling out of place.
It’s how I finished a fic after it sitting unfinished for half a year. Got a long ass review that gave me ideas and then I wrote the last chapter.
Well what’s the story, OP? Now I’m curious.
my grandma just walked up behind me and went “oh haha is that your korra cartoon”
yes, grandma
I can’t stand to see Asami fighting alongside those benders.
Asami is the picture of a strong moral compass and surprisingly solid coping mechanisms
i’ve been rewatching korra, for the very first time since the show ended three years ago.Â
