A master list of just a bunch of Kryzes (and a little bit of other things)

I recently finished “More Than Blood,” the sequel to my ridiculously expansive Obitine AU “She Said the Word.” I may be taking a break from fic writing for a little while, but I’ve been thinking about organizing all my titles into a master list to make finding certain things easier. Below is a full list of all my writing, broke down into AU, characters, and/or ships.

Here’s a key to help streamline the process if you’re looking for a particular thing:

To preface, I love the Mandalorians. I love their armor and their adoption and their guns and their religion and their lack of gendered language. I think they rock. I also believe that war is bad for people. I don't think that's a crazy take. So it shocks me when I see people hating on Satine for also thinking that war is bad for people? I'll give you that she has a kind of bold vision, but she 100% pulls it off. Why the complaints? There’s no need. Satine lost like all her family and a ton of her people and also the planet was in ecological crisis due to civil war; I totally get how she made the jump to pacifism.

Also Alderaan is peaceful, they have no weapons, and Alderaan ROCKS. Furthermore, they're suceeding wildly. They're shining beacon of modern culture. Can we blame Satine Kryze for taking a look at Breha Organa and going "yeah let me base my system of government off of what this bitch is doing." I too would love to base my system of government off of whatever Breha Organa is doing.

It's not like there wasn't people on mandalore to help, it's not like Jedi are professionals at keeping the peace and mandalore happened to lack a lot of peace. At that time, obi wan had 20 something years of keeping the peace under his belt, I think him and satine would have been THE power couple of mandalore. and him not being under the title of jedi anymore doesn't necessarily mean that he's gonna all of a sudden lose all of his good qualities that he got from growing up in the jedi temple, "but they would've argued all the time, as shown in the clone wars!"

What we were shown in the clone wars was years and years of hurt and bitterness and not knowing what to do with their love for each other. So how do they hide their feelings and not admit that they hurt? They argue.

They would have bickered for sure, because we all know they both like sarcasm.

If they'd gotten together we would have had

And ruling mandalore as a couple who both value peace

they're mandaloians, it's their favorite thing to do.

I just want to see a happily married Mr and Mrs Kenobi-Kryze😭

I’m actually still not over the fact that the bravest person Leif says he knows is Gloria. The man is besotted. That’s his work wife. She may very well be His Person, actually. She’s the only one as insane as him, she matches his freak.

He gave her a laser saw, y’all. He listened to her batshit insane plan to escape Krok, and was willing to bear the burden of grief and guilt to shoot her and everyone else with the time gun even if it killed them all. He builds for her. He lets her hold his leash. She yelled fifty acres and a mule at Abe Lincoln and he killed John Wilkes Booth. They both destroyed the Teds (and she is gonna be so mad he used the doomsday device to do it but wouldn’t let her, and then she’ll probably feel weirdly grateful because he’s always been willing to bend his integrity to the point of breaking but he’ll always keep her honest). They’re both cooks with cookbooks that have nothing to do with cooking (Gloria’s is mental, and it’s all her batshit plans, many of which involve kidnapping for some reason lmao). They both lost their parents, Leif a little bit more symbolically, but it’s still what eventually sets them on their period of wandering.

Like. Yeah, yeah, Caspar and Ava are nauseating and it’s not a competition, but Leif and Gloria’s relationship is sooooo. They’re sooooo!!! Much. They’re not quite a bonded pair the way Caspar and Ava are — those two shouldn’t be separated because they’ll do some real fucked up shit to get back to each other. But Leif and Gloria carry pieces of each other with them in such a weird way. I need them to hug when they’re back in the same room or I’m building a purple nullifier

One of the things that impressed me the most about Dungeon Crawler Carl (mind you, I went in with zero expectations) is that not only it manages to turn a talking cat into fully realized, complex character who is still unmistakably *a cat*, but also that the cental relationship of the series - this kind of strong, unshakable bond between the main characters that never fails to make you emotional over how much they mean for each other - is unmistakably a relationship between a man and a cat. Not just nominally, but in a way that is instantly recognizable for anyone who ever owned and loved a cat. And mind you, it's not for the lack of other relationships - Carl finds new friends and comrades, and each of them is important for him in their own right, but still THE most important person in his life is a cat and as a cat person I think that's beautiful

Am I crazy for thinking that Satine/the New Mandalores feel like they have Celtic inspiration?? I’m specifically thinking of that one headdress that Satine wears that looks like crystal fairy wings. Look at her and tell me she’s not a space faerie queen in disguise!

Well, Satine is inspired by Cate Blanchett's portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I, who is the inspiration for Edmund Spenser's 1596 poem The Faerie Queen, so ... you're not wrong about that!

As for the outfit you're referring to (I call it the Dragonfly Dress), I don't see any specifically Celtic imagery, but I do think you could easily assume a high fantasy element that could easily read as Celtic, especially when Cate Blanchett's other famous character must have been in the back of the designers' minds. In fact ...

... looking at these two dresses side by side, you can see the similarity in the pseudo-off-the-shoulder necklines with a brooch in the center. Plus the diadem-style headdresses.

I love that Star Wars fanfic writing community and I honestly don't mind non-canon bits splashed in for worldbuilding but like. Ya'll, Obi-Wan Kenobi doesn't know Mando'a, CANONICALLY. Canonically in The Clone Wars, Satine had a conversation in Mando'a with a Death Watch man in front of Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan asked "What is he saying?" because He Does Not Know The Language. And like, I'm ok when people write him learning the language while on the run with Satine as a padawan, I love those fics too, but there's a habit of people writing Obi-Wan as more spiritually Mandalorian than, say, Satine because he knows the language while she doesn't and that is simply Not True

You are not wrong, but you’re also not necessarily right.

The fact that Obi-Wan asks what the bomber is saying that Satine immediately responds by only noting that he’s speaking in the regional dialect of Concordia suggests to me that it’s likely that Obi-Wan actually DOES know Mando’a in general.

Satine knows that and is clarifying why exactly Obi-Wan wouldn’t understand the bomber’s words.

Further, given that the words the bomber is speaking are ceremonial in nature (see my breakdown here), the phrases are probably also archaic, and thus not ones that a non-native speaker would know.

5. what's your favourite piece of furniture and where did you get it?

A couple of years ago I fell in love with this ratan midcentury entertainment center thing at my favorite thrift shop. It was gorgeous and the perfect size and shape for a spot I wanted to put something to make a little bar. It was a little more than I was ready to spend so I let it go. Then the price dropped and I decided if it was still around after the trip I was going on, I would get it. It came home with me 2 days after I got home. It's so pretty! We no longer need it for our original intent in our new house, but I will never get rid of it. It's too perfect. Honorable mention is the dining table my mom gave me. It was the last piece of furniture she and my dad picked out together before he passed away. It is pretty damn basic (but solid. It's a good table) and probably nothing I would pick out NOW, but I am emotionally attached to the memory of my parents still nesting together, even after all their kids were gone and my dad was dying. To love each other and your little home together so much that you still want to keep improving it even when you know you're leaving it hits hard.

18. have you ever fields in your career or education?

Have I EVER! From straight out of high school, I worked in the horse industry with big goals and dreams to ride for the Olympic team in the sport of Three Day Eventing. I was a working student (aka barely paid intern), a farm manager, an assistant trainer, and a coach for a long time. But I hit a mental wall around 30 when I realized that I was missing a HUGE component for being a Team-worthy rider- MONEY. We're talking BIG BUCKS. I also realized that the way *I* liked working and training with horses was counter to how the really successful riders did things, and I found their way of doing stuff sad, at best, and abusive, at worst. I started thinking about leaving the industry (or at least the terrible job I was in at that time) but I wasn't sure what to do with myself. The universe helped me along....my horse and I had a pretty gnarly crash in a competition (he was fine), I got seriously injured, and 12 hours after getting home from the hospital, my boss fired me. From there, I bounced around for awhile, trying things out. I did several years in hospitality, managing guest services at a ritzy boutique inn. It was fun for awhile, but one night, not too long after the first Trump administration began, I turned to a fellow coworker and asked "does it ever sit weird with you that all we do is provide fancy vacations for the extremely wealthy?" Neither of us stayed their for much longer. One of my all time favorite jobs was running the farm shop for an organic vegetable farm. I helped manage the CSA program, set up the store every day, chatted about eating locally, got kids excited about things like purple bell peppers and kolhrabi. If it hadn't been a seasonal position I am convinced I would still be there. I sold RVs for about 6 weeks. I am no sales person. That was terrible. I had my own pet care business that was JUST about to become truly sustainable when lockdown went into effect and all my clients were either fired our working from home. I got talked back into the horse industry by a now former friend, to come work for her after she had a baby. Biggest mistake. She was a terrible person to work for. I gave my resignation a year after I started, then promptly got bucked off a client's horse and ended up in the ICU. I worked in the coffee industry for a few years. Love/hated that job. The coffee was so fun. The company did not walk their talk, AT ALL. Now I'm an accountant at a nonprofit and I fucking LOVE it. It is not anything I ever thought I would do, but it is the BEST team, I feel like I'm making a huge difference in my community, the pay is nice (I'm not getting rich, but I pay my bills and have a little fun money leftover), and the work environment is amazing.
