We are happy and excited to announce that our project with Jende Industries has come to fruition. We now offer Naniwa Chosera whetstones with a surface dimension of 210mmx70mm, perfect as a freehand bench stone. The difference is, ours uses a thinner slice of abrasive mounted to an acrylic block (about 2mm on the 10k, and 4-5mm on everything else). Now there are a few reasons we do this, 1 - This gives knife sharpeners the option of buying many different grits of stones for less money. That way, you could have had a good progression without blowing your budget. 2 - Since the stone slice is thinner, it also weighs less, and you can carry around more stones without breaking your back. 3 - The stones are quite long-wearing, most people don't go through a full 10k stone anyway, so why spend on and lug around something you won't use? 4 - Have you ever dropped your stone by accident? Yeah, we all have. Well, would you rather have that mistake cost you RM1000 or RM390? Yep, we thought so. 5 - Used up a stone? Broke it by accident? well, the acrylic blocks that the stones are fully recyclable. Waste not want not!! 6 - We are trying to be environmentally friendly by using what would otherwise be wasted, and you get the benefits of buying the stones at a cheaper cost!
