In Sonic The Hedgehog 2 there was a glitch were Sonic's palette would turn green and black, the fans named it evil sonic/ Ashura the hedgehog

Archie's artist Ken Penders turned this concept into a character named Scourge The Hedgehog, aka anti-sonic; a sonic from a parallele universe, bizzarro style

He was a fan favorite but Penders wasnt really the best (Google Ken Penders lawsuits to check) and gived a lot of problems to Sega and in the end the Archie comics had to stop because of him, and now IDW pubblish sonic comics, and due how messy Archie sonic was, now Sonic Team has put a lot of rules of what the writers can or can not put in the comic.

Since they cant use Scourge anymore; IDW made a new character based on the green sonic glitch:

Surge the Tenrec; a clone of sonic made by Dr Starline! And since she is a clone and a girl; accidentally implies that sonic may be afab

Happy new years everyone! Lets do our best to make it a good one. Originally I wanted to have only the torch as a lightsource in this one, but I couldn't really get it to work in a way that was satisfactory. Still pretty happy with the result though :)

On my first day in Germany I got to my hotel and I couldn't get the lights to turn on. And I was like "Eh, fuck it, I'll just take a shower in the dark." And then the shower wouldn't get hot. I waited and waited and it stayed ice cold.

So I go down to the front desk and I'm like "My lights won't turn on and my shower won't get hot" so they send this guy up with me. We get into the room and I flick the switch and nothing happens so I'm like "See?"

And he goes "You must put your card in the slot."

"I... what? I have to put my room card in the light switch?"

"Of course!"

Now I have been in many hotels in the US and never encountered this concept, but apparently it was something most of their guests already knew. So I'm looking like a fool at this point. I feel like an idiot. The dude is fully grinning at me. I put the card in the slot and voila, the light turns on.

Then he's like "Ok, let's see if the shower works. You know you must wait for the hot water?" and I just know he's thinking I'm an idiot who also can't use a shower. This stupid American can't wait for the hot water! She can't even use a light switch or a shower!

And I guess he was distracted by these thoughts of my stupidity, because this dude fully stepped into the shower. In his nice dress shirt and slacks. He just. Gets into the shower.

And turns it on.

A lot of articles tend to point towards a lack of "relevance" but ultimately that's not what is happening.

One of Tupperware's biggest hurdles is availability, not demand. They previously relied on independent sellers, down to individual independent sellers, like the Tupperware Parties of yore (people, usually women seeking financial independence from the 50s onward, would hold events to sell Tupperware to other suburban women -- similar to Avon). 2022 was the first year Tupperware could be found in places like Target. At All. Their exclusivity and middle(wo)men decreased their reach as the parties became less and less of a thing.

The next issue for Tupperware is in manufacturing. It only has a single US plant (which it now closed) and struggled post-(early)covid to pay for rising costs of plastic and transportation of materials.

THEN Tupperware got fucked by investors trying to make bank first on their success and then also on their failure as they got swept into "meme stock" betting, where inexperienced traders gamble on stock around jokes/irony.

So ultimately, Tupperware has failed to get with the times as it has always relied on suburban lady sales while countless imitation products hit shelves in places where working class people shop for cheaper and sometimes comparable products, the cost to make a good product went up and as Tupperware struggled, investors and gamblers who are addicted to Line Going Up cashed in on betting on their failure rather than success, and because Tupperware is so synonymous with plastic food storage, IP gremlins are more than delighted to crash and burn a company to get it on the cheap and turn it around to make the numbers go back up again.

Rather than a "oh the woe of durability" story, or lament that a product is not used anymore, this is an excellent microcosm of the vulturistic nature of capitalism.

it really is the most Pokémon thing ever that they made a route full of rapid water that if you're lucky you might navigate in just the right spot to find an area you can dive, and you follow that along and find a cave where everything is written in Braille - like, the language made for the visually-impaired which can only be read by touching it, which you obviously cannot do through an LCD screen - which if you somehow manage to read it you find out you need to A) use Dig, which if you do happen to have on you you then need B) a fucking Wailord and Relicanth, two late-game kinda hard to get Pokémon I guarantee extremely few people would ever have used one of on their team never mind both water-types at the same time for some reason, and if you DO manage to do all of that it unlocks three caves across the region which it doesn't even tell you where they are and you have to solve more braille puzzles and your prize is 3 pokemon that just arent even good
