Norfolk retro-futurist Nathan Fake returns with brand new single 'Iceni Strings': a typically bold reframing of the Zeitgeist, where burbling organic synths meet a deliciously crunchy techno rattle in one glorious, exuberant pre-apocalyptic braindance. Unmistakably Nathan Fake, but with a warmer take on the hard-edged techno that dominated previous longplayer 'Hard Islands', the deceptively simple melody of 'Iceni Strings' resonates with a campfire folk memorability that becomes the Iceni, the ancient Norfolk-dwelling Celtic tribe who lend their name to the title. “I just felt like the whole track had a total Celtic tribal campfire vibe to it!”, Nathan explains. The cheeky 12” vinyl and digital release comes backed with two equally blistering B-sides: previously unreleased symphonic live anthem ‘Sense Head’, and the fresh-to-tape steely, austere metropolitan soundscape of ‘Bauxite Dream’. 'Iceni Strings' is a fitting first single for his nostalgically-titled third album 'Steam Days', due for release late August on Border Community. Fake also offers an early live album preview over the Summer of 2012 as he takes his blistering one man live set around the world. Nathan Fake Tour Dates: 26th May: Festival Crossover, Nice, France 31st May: Lux, Lisbon, Portugal 23rd June: Cultech, Guimaraes, Portugal 28th June: ME.006 Rendez-Vous, Cabaret Sauvage, Paris, France 30th June: The Beat Herder Festival, Lancashire, UK 6th July: Bloc 2012, London, UK 7th July: Pitch Festival, Amsterdam, Netherlands 20th July: Away Game Festival, Eigg, Scotland 5th August: Woodstock 69, Amsterdam, Netherlands 11th August: Creamfields Andalusia, Jerez, Spain 30th August: CAMP, London, UK (ALBUM LAUNCH) 1st September: Strandclub Naturel, The Hague, Netherlands 8th September: Dimension Festival, Pula, Croatia 5th October: Mutek, Mexico City, Mexico

That's a welcome letter.
Who's looking at the 909?
Shed is back after his amazing LP last year on Ostgut Ton. On the A100 EP he takes the name of The Traveller. The EP has three great tracks although each one is very different, but all very Shed. The title track kicks things off in power techno fashion and is sure to cause destruction to floors around the world. My favorite track BER comes next which is this ambient techno masterpiece. Last, but not least we have Bypass which brings the thunder to close out this EP. This is definitely my record of the week.
Buy it on vinyl @ Hardwax or digitally @ bleep.
Last night's #DeadAir show now available to listen again.

Blood Orange
V Magazine:
In breaking news about the young and exceptionally talented, stylist Haley Wollens has directed a game-changing new music video for one of our favorite rising stars, Blood Orange (the musical moniker of Devonte Hynes). In it, a bevy of diverse and attractive girls dance within 3D-rendered, collaged interiors that sample details from ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s interior design magazines and real-life teen girl bedrooms from Flickr. “The concept for the video came to me when I was listening to “Champagne Coast” alone in my bedroom, dancing by myself in the mirror,” Wollens says. ” I have always been infatuated with the movement of a woman’s body while dancing. Nothing is sexier.”
“The motif a girl alone in her bedroom is a recurring moment that has often inspired me, in films like Paris,Texas and Bye Bye Birdie, to name two examples. I wanted to represent this iconic scene a new way.” When the task of building sets in order to convey the artfulness envisioned became too financially daunting, the director cam to a conclusion that she describes as a common one for today’s generation: “let’s photoshop them in.” Take a look at the video below. We are fairly certain you’ve never seen anything like it.
Fantastic video for my favorite track off the Blood Orange album.

Classic.
This is the one I've been waiting for from Joy Orbison for way too long of a time. May 31st its out for public consumption. It also comes with a remix by Shed under his 'Head High' guise. Run don't walk to your local record store or just pre-order it here.
Here's a radio rip of Ellipsis from Benji B's show last year.
