A Typical Dysfunctional Team
Don’t get me wrong here, when we were in-between jobs, there probably wasn’t as much drama as other teams. The gang generally got along, and had an open-minded no-harm/no-foul attitude about things. But we were not a tight-knit family and, more specifically, Shaggy and I were not the fast friends that everyone seems to think we were.
For example, the whole over-eating schtick was funny at first, and it helped add a little levity to the pretty dark shit we dealt with on a daily basis. But, although I publicly accepted it stoically, privately I really had to draw the line at Scooby Snacks. But no matter how often I asked him to back off, Shaggy thought it was hilarious to snatch them out of the air as Velma casually tossed one to me.
Those fucking things tasted like a mixture of wood-chips and chalk-dust overbaked in an oven made of dried cat-shit.
But they were MINE!
