Restless Hearts | Kyder
She watched him as he thought about something he’d always wanted to do but didn’t have the courage to. He seemed to go off somewhere and for a moment she wanted to lean closer and try to figure out where by the expression on his face but she wasn’t really good at it anyways. He began to speak and told her what she already knew: He was the golden good ol’ boy. No, he was more than that, but that’s what he was essentially. She was, surprised though, at him saying that he had never tried to sneak out. With his strict parents, she didn’t understand how he hadn’t tried to runaway just once. Maybe that was a little pretentious, considering she’d always been one for getting a rise out of her parents even if it was just hiding in her closet for a whole day or spending the night in the poolhouse without telling anyone. Even before her mom died and her dad became unbearable. With a tolerance like that, she wondered what had pushed him to sneak out tonight of all nights.
She glanced over at his fake ID and raised an eyebrow. It was shiny, looked better than hers, and was actually set in the state of Ohio. She had gotten her own from some nerd in the AV club the prior year, that made her 23, a resident of Tennessee and listed her eye color as green, but it passed. As he placed his ID back into his wallet and began to say that he wouldn’t know how to find trouble, she openly interrupted. “You found me,” She reminded him almost teasingly, though it was true. Kitty was all but the physical embodiment of trouble, at least to teenage boys. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you have fun,” The blonde reassured him, sure she could get him, even with his rigid mood, to loosen up and live a little. “I’m sure Lima’s packed with bars,” She said at the question of Lima nightlife, though that barely counted as nightlife in her mind. There was nightlife in bigger towns, maybe but the closest Lima had were karaoke bars or a bowling alley. Or at least, all she knew of. She glanced out the window as they pulled out of McKinley, though there was too much darkness to see. On second thought, she reached down for her purse to make sure her wallet wasn’t in her bedroom and placed her own fake on the armrest between them, her yearbook photo smirking at them, showing that to any bartenders, she was Heidi Burns. “At least the AV club’s good for more than tripping up in hallways,” she told him and leaned back into her seat. “Push comes to shove, we could always just head back to my house and our hot tub.”
Glancing over at Kitty, Ryder smiled slightly as she said he found her. He didn't want to get all cheesy on her, but he totally did find her, and that was awesome. To think he could have been sitting around moping over Jake and Marley being so happy together, ruining something for a girl that was his first friend here in Lima, and a guy who kind of became an acquaintance earlier that day in Detention. But no, he had someone, someone amazing, someone devilishly cute, someone that drove him to the brink of insanity. Someone he couldn't really imagine being without nowadays--Which was maybe too heavy for a teenage boy just having fun with a teenage girl. They didn't put a label to this thing yet, so stuff like that was a bit much. Ryder couldn't help it, though. He couldn't help the feelings he felt when he was around her. He couldn't help the way she shook him and made him go... Crazy. "I did, didn't I?" he chuckled softly, looking down a moment. Hearing her say she would help him have fun, the boy grinned at her, his arm going to rest along the back of her seat as he leaned over to kiss her softly, unable to help himself in that moment. The girl began bringing up bars and Ryder nodded, though he didn't really know much about Lima or even where the bars were. He rarely ever drove around Lima, so he wasn't sure where to look. He drove into town, towards what they called "Downtown Lima", though there wasn't much there, his gaze shifting around the darkness. It wasn't really busy, but there were few places still open, few people--all of which looked older and semi questionable--walking around.
His eyes shifted over to between them where her ID sat, grinning at her photo. "You're cute," he said with a crooked grin, reaching for her hand to hold in his grasp. "You already knew that though," he said with a more charming smile. He was slowly easing out of that fake "bad boy" facade he thought would impress her, being a little more himself. It was easy around her, even if many people would look at the "golden boy" and "bitchy girl" and think they wouldn't get along at all. Sometimes they didn't. Other times they did. That was just the beauty of this thing between them. Hearing her suggestion, he bit his lip. "I don't see a problem with that," he said softly. Actually the idea of a hot tub and Kitty Wilde was kind of really awesome... Turning and catching a parking spot right up at the curb, Ryder shut off the engine and unbuckled before turning to the girl beside him. "So... Heidi Burns," he smirked, slightly amused with the fake name. His was Charles Fischer. He nodded towards the bar. "Shall we?" With a smile on his lips, Ryder climbed out and walked around to her side, opening her door for her and taking her hand, though he quickly moved his arm to rest around her shoulders as he placed a soft kiss on her head and walked with her towards the bar. Entering, Ryder was instantly greeted with the thick smokey air. He almost choked on it, but held back from that and tried to act cool, pulling out his ID as they approached the bar and sat down side by side. He tried not to look so doe eyed as he stared around the establishment, looking like he'd never been in one before. Glancing back at Kitty, he smiled before asking for a Beer on tap. Because that's what they usually asked for in the movies. Being offered an iced glass with the liquid, he took a sip and tried not to choke on the taste, swallowing a gulp before leaning towards Kitty. "This stuff is gross, how do people drink it all the time?" he whispered, looking around the bar again.
