"I need you to lie to me. Tell me the worst thing you can imagine, please." they sob into the silence of the room. Both lying down on a too small bed that has seen better days, in a backroom covered in dust, long forgotten cigarette butts and shell casings. Legs intertwined, their grasp on the other's wrist is tight, holding it to their face sobbing their words into it like a prayer.

The other's arm tightens on their waist, pulling them closer as if they could use their own body to hide the other from everything even from the darkness of the night. Voice rough with the sounds of tears that they could never shed, not after all they've been through, "I hate you. I feel so suffocated when you're with me. My life would be better without you. I'm a better person without you." The two don't know what hurts worse the truths in the lies or the lies they've been living.
