Archie shook the man’s hand, looking at him a bit strangely for a moment before finally recognizing his face, “Oh gosh! Oh, yes, of course. I’m Archie Hopper. I’m a therapist, if you need to, I mean, if you feel the need to talk to someone about… the coma.” Archie stopped rambling and finished more sympathetically than he’d begun. He finally let go of David’s hand as well.
"The shelter, though, I do remember seeing a help wanted sign last time Pongo went for a check up."
David gave a hardened smile down to his feet as he shoved his hands into his pockets. It seemed all anyone felt the need to talk about was the coma...the fact that he didn't remember anything, or that it came in very, very short bursts. He couldn't hold it against the doctor--after all, he was only trying to help. "I appreciate that, though I think it's one of the only things I'd rather not talk to someone about, if you understand."
