Empire of Dust Amélie Labourdette
Amélie Labourdette interrogates which is in the landscape is a priori invisible. There is always a blurred zone of concern and a landscape located below the visible landscape, another landscape that is not given at first gaze.
This series of photographs, Empire of dust has been realized in south Italy, in the regions of Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia, where financial crises and embezzlement have made of the incompleteness, an architectural aesthetics.

Figures From Classical Paintings Are Installed Into Modern Backgrounds By The Canvas Project
The Canvas Project reinterprets classical portrait by depicting the notable figures and installing them in modern scenarios cleverly. The fresh utilization of these notable works are creative and give a new perspective of the countless ways in which art can be created to offer countless meanings through time as classical and contemporary struggle to stay connected through the generations. Women and children from the renaissance period become fixtures of the daily chaos of the London street life and the artist smartly imposes these classical characters throughout unlikely urban background across the globe.

Utopia Studio Esinam in collaboration with Rory Gardiner
Studio Esinam, in collaboration with London-based photographer Rory Gardiner, has released Utopia, a photo series that captures and pays tribute to London’s Brutalist architecture. The series aims to “highlight the subtle beauties hidden beneath the hard surface of some of London’s brutalist buildings.”
Photographed during the early spring of 2016, the project captures some of the city’s best examples of Brutalism: the Barbican Estate, Royal National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Trellick Tower, and the Robin Hood Gardens.

Hi, I'm not sure if you can help, but I'm a soon-to-be architecture student and recently I've been experiencing some pain in my wrists. I took a architecture course last semester and there were days i could barely move my hand cause they hurt so much after a night of working on models. Do you have any recommendations on how students can take care of their hands/wrists? Do you think a wrist guard might be a good investment? Thank you :)
Maybe.
Typically the wrist pain in architects is related to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome cause by drawing all day in the computer. For that pain (which I have often encountered) the only thing that works is locating the mouse and keypad in such a way that your elbow can rest on the desktop instead of you holding it up with only the wrist on the desktop. W
hat you describe related to models might be related to materials you are using or that you are pushing yourself to exhaustion. That is why I say a wrist guard might help but it will probably be a matter of finding a better cutting technique/blade or maybe taking some breaks where you rest your wrist.
Would love to hear some other opinions, most of us have been there!

to that anon: my wrist pains used to be so bad I couldn’t sleep well at night so I bought a wrist protector and it became much better. sometimes it’s a bit annoying to wear but overall I’d recommend it

Please suggest the young person get his hands examined as carpal tunnel can get progressively worse and become permanent. I had to get surgery on both my hands and it was such a big help and I’m happy that I got it done. Hopefully they can relieve the problem with other methods, but they should see a doctor.
