So, I've been working ten to twelve hour days because my project site has this huge deadline coming up. To those I've been RPing with: I'm very sorry for the wait. If you're waiting on a response from me, I will get to it soon.

Another Toy? || Sphere & Jinks
"Is this an artifact?" Steve wondered about a strange black sphere someone had left on the dining room table. "Claud?! Pete? Myka?"
He didn’t touch it, however, it could be a misplaced artifact and he didn’t have his gloves on him.
"I'm not an artifact, I'm not an artifact!" the sphere protested vehemently.
After a pause, it spoke again. "That was what you would call a popular culture reference, wasn't it? Yes, yes I believe it was." The familiar British voice sounded very pleased with herself. "Claudia would be positively thrilled."

"I grieved to think how brief the dream of the human intellect had been. It had committed suicide." -H.G. Wells (The Time Machine)

Myka smiles and lifts the top half of the sphere, turning it into place so that it will project Helena. "Hi." She states lamely, unsure of what else to say. It's been far too long since she's seen Helena.
Being given form that is visible and takes up space is a sensation like no other, and each time Helena experiences it, she is left at a bit of a loss. It is as if some painter from a higher realm of existence is giving her color, running a cold, wet brush over every atom in her body simultaneously. A millisecond of an all-encompassing chill, an uncomfortable tickling sensation, and there she stands, mid-shiver and slightly out of breath, face to face with the woman from the future she has come to care for.
The memory of a gun in her hand lurks at the edge of her guilty conscience, but her lips draw into a fond smile entirely without her permission. “Hello, Myka.”
Myka watches as the woman appears before her. She feels like she can literally see every atom come together as the projection forms. But it’s just that, a projection. Helena’s consciousness might be there, but her body is off else where. Bottom lip bitten between her teeth, Myka simply watches Helena. She’s missed the woman more than words can explain, though she knows she shouldn’t. After all, this is the woman who tried to destroy the world, who held a gun to her head.
Yet, Myka still cared for her. She still wanted Helena to be happy. She still wanted Helena around. ”I’ve missed you.” She spoke honestly, wishing that she could reach out and touch the woman.
For all her mastery of the English language, Helena could not name a single characteristic of Myka Bering that she found most endearing. If she were to be entirely honest, the woman before her seemed to possess every trait she had ever found endearing in anyone. It was more than a little bit uncanny.
She watched the confusion of emotions flit across those expressive green eyes, and saw the affection that lurked there in spite of.. everything. And the guilt from the past few months seemed to hit her all at once. Despite the fact that she had no corporeal form, she felt herself blinking back tears.
"I've..." she started. Missed you more than I can express. Wronged you so much that I cannot even begin to apologize. She smiled, wishing that she had Myka's courage. "Myka, how have you been?"

"…..what the frak are you?"
"A perfectly innocent black sphere, clearly. What else could I be?"
"In my experience, black spheres don’t just show up without there being some sort of impending doom.” She raised a skeptical eyebrow.
"What do you want?" Claudia’s voice faltered just slightly. She was alone, save for the black sphere, and her farnsworth was on the other side of the room.
"One should think not," the familiar Victorian voice emanating from the sphere agreed. "But when have you ever known me to pay much heed to convention?"
"I'm not sure I want anything," she continued, a certain measure of doubt inching its way into her voice. "I have simply appeared at various locations throughout the last few months, and this process seems to be out of my control. I appear to be drawn to people and places that hold some significance to me. It does not surprise me that you, Claudia are one of them. I... have missed your conversation."

Emily & The Sphere - Travelling
Being entrapped in the Janus coin is not unlike being encapsulated in bronze. It took Helena a few years to get used to the utter lack of mechanical needs. Hunger, thirst, desire to sleep, all gone, even while the needs of the spirit remained. Guilt, rage, weariness, and so much yearning - for intimacy, for absolution, for hope, for impossibility, they grew and grew, and with every silent second, they ate away a part of her. They grew inside her until she was utterly overwhelmed, until she personified them.
Perhaps it was because of her crippling fear of returning to that all-encompassing despair that the mechanisms within the sphere began to malfunction. Had she been religious, she would have thought that some deity had taken pity on her.
After the first week, she found that she was able to speak, even while the sphere was switched off. It became akin to a second body that allowed her to perceive her surroundings.
After the first month, she began to travel, only for a minute or so at first, then for an hour or two. Sometimes, it was the warehouse, her childhood home, or some other place from her memories. Other times, she found herself in surroundings that were entirely unfamiliar.
Now, it seems to be the latter. She sits on a wooden desk in what appears to be a schoolroom of some kind. The angle of the sunlight streaming through the windows tells her that it is mid-evening.
Myka smiles and lifts the top half of the sphere, turning it into place so that it will project Helena. "Hi." She states lamely, unsure of what else to say. It's been far too long since she's seen Helena.

"Um hello? Can I help you?"
My, but that is an interesting question to ask a small plastic sphere. Are you in the habit of doing so, or did you expect a response from this one in particular?
Daani jumped with a yelp when the sphere talked. "I. I actually wasn’t expecting you to uh well respond…. I was joking… but hi… Whhhhy do you talk little chunk of black plastic…"
"I talk for the same reason you talk. Wolves sing and cats cry, and most humans make human-like noises that, while slightly more confusing, do not, in the end, make much more sense. Why should plastic remain silent and docile to serve your animal sensibilities?"

HG, huh? M’ mother figure’s you. In another universe, at least. -she shrugs- Been locked away, yeah? For Yellowstone?
It would appear that I am at a disadvantage. Fortunately, time, more than anything else, is at my disposal. Tell me.. how did you come to transverse entire realms of existence? Has the human experience in another universe ever differed drastically from ours?

Johanna Emily Beckett, time-travelling Lycan, master thief, Warehouse Agent in a few universes, yadda, yadda, yadda… -she shrugs- Long story.
It seems, then, that we have several things in common. Helena Wells, at your service.

Now this is the most interesting thing I’ve seen all night… tell me, who exactly does the Janis Coin hold this time?
Who exactly wishes to know?
"May I um... turn the sphere on? It's a bit odd talking to you when you aren't here. I mean, you're here but just..." 'I like to see you...' She kept the end of her thoughts to herself.
Of course! It’s been awhile since - I didn’t think - please. By all means.
