charlie--weasley:
“I’m a simple man with simple pleasures,” he responded, grinning equally back at him. Charlie made his way up to the counter and ordered his usual–a large, black coffee, nothing fancy. He took his tea with copious amounts of milk and sugar but he liked his coffee black and dark and bitter. “I suppose they kind of do, yeah? I like tea, too, but coffee is usually my first choice unless I’m ill or it’s time for bed or some such thing. Or if I’m at the Burrow, I’ll always take tea.”
Charlie laughed right along with Theodore. “Ten pairs of just dress shoes! What on earth does one bloke need ten pairs of shoes for, much lest ten pairs of just dress shoes?” He shrugged his shoulders, taking the coffee provided to him and immediately taking a mouthful, wincing as it burned his tongue and throat on the way down. He always drank his coffee this way, too impatient to let it cool.
“Deer, mostly. Sometimes cows. Whatever we can get our hands on, really, but they seem to like deer the best.” Charlie smiled warmly over his coffee, his leather gloves protecting his hands from the worst of the heat. “Yeah, that’s how it is with the dragons, except they’re so high it falls down like rain. A bit shocking at first if no one tells you, since you might think it’s raining and it turns out to be blood. So… be forewarned, yeah?” He chuckled again. “Oh! You don’t have to shower at my flat–I can apparate you home first, or we can just use the showers there at the reserve, if you prefer. Totally up to you.” Charlie could understand–showering in someone else’s home might be uncomfortable for some people.
“No, no, I chose the last time, so it’s your turn to choose where we have dinner,” he insisted, smiling. “I’m okay with all that fancy stuff. I’ve got dress robes, even, believe it or not–not as nice as any of yours, I’d reckon, but I’m sure they’ll do the job. I wore them to Bill’s wedding and to Gin’s.” And to Fred’s funeral, but he left that bit out. “That’ll make two of us, then, who won’t have the warm welcome, but I’ll bet they still let you spend your money there. We can just be the table of outcasts, is all.”
“Simple pleasures.” He nodded his head in agreement. “Growing up I didn’t appreciate simple pleasures, after Azkaban, well now I can live off of simple pleasures.” Ordering a small iced coffee with milk, it was truthfully the only way he could really drink coffee, never being a fan of the bitter taste. “Might follow your example and live in a simple flat, I mean I am looking into selling the manor.”
Nodding his head again when he talked about tea. “Tea is always my first choice over everything else. I could drink it until I was filled with tea.” Playfully rolling his eyes. “Hey everyone of those dress shoes has a different design on them, they’re all unique, and they all have their own little bit of flair.” Taking his drink when it was made, he sipped nodding that the flavor was good. “But hey also in Azkaban I only had one outfit, and no shoes. So now I need to make up for all the clothes I missed out on. Also get a little possessive of my clothes now a days.” Rubbing the back of his neck, he decided not to share why.
“No, no I’m fine, I don’t mind using your shower. Just a new concept and action for me.” Grinning, he laughed a little. “Just promise not to sneak a peak? Unless I mean I get to as well.” Laughing he punched his arm, gently. “No I’m playing, but really I’m good with the idea. Saves time anyway.” Nodding his head. “Fancy restaurant it is.”
“The table of outcasts we shall become, but why would you be an outcast? You’re the dragon reserve guy, who helped save the world from evil. Any place should be honored to have you as their customer. But you’re right at the end of the day money is money to them.”
