So... Qifrey is a host of the silver wood tree (chapter 88). And witches use silverwood tree branches to make their ink (chapter 15).

Could Qifrey make a sort of special ink with his blood or something?

In the anime, when Qifrey summons that giant water dragon we can see a red liquid in it. Maybe it's just light reflection or somethin. Or... Maybe Qifrey mixed his own blood with the spell to make it more powerful or have a better control...
