The similarities between Achilles (Greek God) and Achilleus (The Enemy series)
To make this simple Achilles (GG) is referring to the greek god, and Achilleus (TE) is referring to The Enemy series to delete any confusion.
Lets first dive into the Greek Mythology behind Achilles (GG), he was the best fighter of his generation, and had a side kick/lover(?) Named Patroclaus who was his right hand in everything he did. Reguardless if they were really lovers or had a love like brothers, Patroclaus and Achilles (GG) were very, very close. Now during the final battle of Troy, Achilles (GG) refuses to fight because his pride was bruised so Patroclaus dressed in his armor and fought in his place. Patroclaus ended up dying, which then gives Achilles (GG) a reason to fight.
Now let us look at Achilleus from The Enemy Series. First off Achilles (GG) and Achilleus (TE) have the same name, just spelled a little differently. Okay, that’s fine, lost of people have the same name, right? No biggy. Secondly Achilleus (TE) is also the best fighter (or one of the best, based on opinion) of his generation. That’s fine right? Where the similarities stop, right? No biggy. Wrong. Achilleus (TE) has a side kick/caddy named Patrick, aka Paddy.
Now I know what you’re thinking ‘Patroclaus and Patrick are two completely different names’ just keep reading I have more to say.
Achilleus (TE) and Paddy share a close bond as well, more of a father/son or brotherly type of love, similar to that Achilles (GG) shares with Patroclaus, in the since that all care deeply for one another.
Now off on a little branch here, Patroclaus and Paddy share a few similarities as well. In the since that both of them aren’t big on fighting. Patroclaus killed a boy on accident when he was a child and has been haunted by it ever since. Paddy killed a sicko for the first time and felt guilty right after. (Both of them threw up after there inncidents, not important but I wanted to share that).
Back on topic now. Why doesn’t Achilleus (TE) fight in the final battle? His pride is bruised. So who tries to fight in his place and ends up dying? Paddy. And that then gives him the fuel to go fight in the final battle!
Achilleus from The Enemy is strongly, strongly based off of Achilles from Greek mythology, more than you may have known.
Extra: Greek mythology also is kinda know for its sorta gayness. Ya know the “it’s not gay if it’s anciet greece.” Thing. Achilleus (TE) turned out to be gay, like many speculate Achilles (GG) was.
