The idea of “I suffer more than you” shall always come with the alternative; “you suffer less than me.” You cannot have one and not the other. You cannot have a coin with one side.

When one wonders why their argument is getting pushback, one may realise that this is because - whether or not they intentionally did so - they have stated that the suffering of many is lesser. That was the message conveyed. That is not the many’s fault.

You cannot hold yourself above others whilst not putting them down. It simply cannot be done. To hold oneself up, someone always needs to be below you.
