Slowly and steadily, I’ve been feeling consistently happier and more stable. I’m actually excited about doing art - no, not just doing art, experimenting with art - again after about five or six years of malaise.

My mind doesn’t feel as much like a constantly screaming hornet nest anymore.

I’m regularly volunteering again and going on bike rides.

I’m slowly recovering my art supplies scattered everywhere.

I feel better for more than one day in a row now. It’s amazing what kind of impact regular natural lighting from the sun in your living space can have.

#I knew my prior apartment and the last apartment I had in NY were terrible #but I didn’t appreciate HOW terrible they were #I really feel like I lost control over my personal life #while I was living in those places #that were in constant shadow #only after being in this current place for several months #I’m slowly getting to appoint where I don’t feel like I’m having a breakdown at any hint of sustained contentment #most of the time I really want to return to NY #but the physical and mental cost of living there….#something to weigh

Sometimes I really wonder if it’s worth driving for a weekend to my parents’ place so I can grab all my painting supplies and enjoy the amazing natural lighting in my new apartment. There’s enough space for me to go all out on acrylic paintings and studies again. I’ve got a great view of water from here. A freaking bald eagle startled the hell out of me outside my window a while back.

It’s nice here. I want to paint the beaches.

Ahahaha, well, I’ve graduated college and at my current job I typically work ~60-80 hours a week, so you can imagine the kind of havoc that has inflicted on doing art and the likes.
