I know many people in our communities have alcohol/drug addictions or are around people who do, so I want to teach you all a first aid tip!

if someone is unconscious, for example if they've passed out drunk, place them in the recovery position!

make sure they are on their side with the higher arm folded under their head, the lower arm bent forward, and the higher leg bent, like this:

their mouth should be open and facing downward. that way, if they vomit, the vomit can drain out of their mouth and they won't choke on it.

you can place soft but heavy objects, like pillows weighted down with something, around the person to keep them from accidentally turning over.
