Midday break was something he’d looked forward to. Get his coffee and read his paper, which he could now do since Ariel had hired a few more artists. Settling in with his iced mocha with an extra shot of espresso, he flipped it over and whistled softly. The headline was damning. The Vipers were in trouble with all their leadership going away. “Looks like there was a shake up in leadership. Their lawyers are going to be working overtime for sure.” He shook his head, half feeling sorry for those in the family that would have to step up to keep things running smoothly. After Jasper’s arrest, it was funny to watch it blow up in their faces. After all, the Viper higher ups were being taken in for the very thing they had accused Jasper of, it was karma, plain and simple.

Aurora hadn’t felt this carefree and lost in an innocent moment like this in what felt like years. The last time was probably when she first met Ethan at one of their questionable parties that she had snuck out to. Feeling his forehead being pressed up against hers, it didn’t take them long to get lost in their embraces once more. “Do you want to spend the rest of tonight kissing, or do you want to find something else to do?” she asked. 

Gabriel had probably been at some of those parties, but he’d been too occupied with his crush and keeping an eye on his brother, but mostly his crush. “I’d love to go find something else to do.” He replied, voice soft, but it reached her ears easily.

“Really? When you came over to get some Christmas goodies?” Aurora giggled again like a small child. This interaction seemed so innocent and carefree - something that the blonde had so desperately needed. She doubted that nothing would probably come out from this, but it was still nice to experience this. “Well, it’s a good thing you’re redeeming yourself now,” she adds on before planting another firm kiss to his lips. 

“Yeah. Just needed the liquid courage.” He grinned down at her, pressing his forehead to hers and just staying close. He was in a good mood and so was she. “Glad I’m so likeable.” Gabe accepted the kiss and then promptly lost himself in it.

she sways to the music mindlessly , already a few drinks in as restless thoughts are at bay for once. she’s a few drinks in, enough to make her tipsy though more than anything it has put her in a mellow state. not really paying attention to anything or anyone until she feels someone crashing into her. it takes her a moment as she blinks at him, trying to process what just happened. she shakes her head no as she looks down at herself. nope, she’s fine. “you’re good,” she laughs, “are you?”

“I think so.” He looked her over, beer still in hand and checked her over for damage. Nope, she was good, no beer on either of them for that matter. “Crisis adverted.” Gabe frowned, “Did you come by yourself?” Surely she didn’t. Couldn’t have. Could she?”

“You misunderstand! You are a friend and you are irreplaceable. Priceless even.” And he wasn’t just saying this because she gave him free reign with her tab at Huerto. Gabe really did like the Reaper, sure she was a bit off but Cathy was funny and mostly good natured. “Thanks, I’ll make sure to send a few your way. What do you like?” He was serious, why not help out and give back, just a little. What Cathy offered was very generous and deserved to be repaid in some way.
