Guilty By Association
Jas Mace
I mean they’re going to see you how they see you Ain’t no convincing someone that’s already got their mind made up
Yeah, I put my thoughts on some paper then read it in rhyme And hope the people get it when they listen in time It might fly by and go over your head Shooting stars with a cannon man I was living in the land of paparazzi They got me, shot me like a nazi Put me on the front page mugshots all sloppy Told the cops it’s not me, but he ain’t listening Everybody up in prison all say they’re innocent Identity’s mistaken all rappers ain’t the same Feeling on my chest guess he’s looking for a gold chain Opened up my mouth, no gold grills Only cavities and bad breathe shit you know it’s real Searching my pockets for dimes and ounces But I don’t even smoke like that I write raps Perhaps, if he put aside all his biases And listened to a 49ers’ album he would realize We’re not all the same foul mouth uneducated rappers that you probably know about Thanks to MTV, or BET Or any other acronym that claims they represent me That’s when he said the gig is up, pulled my shirt up And saw that I was tatted up, man what the fidduck! I guess I fit the profile guilty by association Locked away behind his prejudice 25 to life is what I’m facing
Man, I guess there’s just no convincing them man They got their mind made up It’s a shame man, but whatever
