“REBELLION”
I’ve never yet been able to resist reblogging this
A woman's war
Daily she's thrust into a war she never signed up for. A war of what to wear, what you look like, how to act, or who to be. A war where words and sideways glances cut through skin and leave everlasting scars. She graces the war zone unaware she should be ashamed; yet comes home pulling at her skin. She wishes she could come undone. She wishes it would all stop. But the media and magazines inform her she's undesirable. The snide remarks and bitter stares reassure her she's deplorable. She's confused. Mixed messages fly past her like bullets that missed their mark. They say that she should love herself, just not the way she is. They say that she is beautiful, if only she would change. And her smile surely fades when it takes twice as much to be half as pretty in the eyes of society. Daily she is thrust into a war she never signed up for, because she was born a woman. Gender has declared her less. And fathers may exclude their daughters from the less, but they still wished for sons and raise their sons on different standards. While daughters fight bravely to be taken seriously, without the remarks of being overbearing or a bitch. So without lipstick war-paint she faces each day. Without tight skirts and heels for armor she courageously portrays herself the way she wants the world to see her. Daily she is thrust into a war she never signed up for, because she was born a woman that chooses to be herself.
I’m glad that Bilbo Baggins exists
Because in the book, the dude was pretty firmly middle aged when his crazy-ass adventure started
He was settled down in the house that belonged to his parents and had done precisely jack shit with his life
It gives me hope that maybe some nutcase wizard will eventually show up and be like yo
you’re a burglar now
don’t even care that you didn’t roll rogue homie we got dragons to slay and kingdoms to save

George R.R. Martin is me
i’m fucking crying
@lamotriginequeen
We're so adorable. He just makes me so happy.
Today.
Today I will stay in bed and try to remember what it means to smile. Today I will probably cry, more than once. Today I will be alone, and build a fort, and watch movies that mean a lot to me. Today I will be sad and that's okay. Today will end and tomorrow will bring a new today.
You don’t have to be more attractive. You don’t have to be attractive at all. You don’t have to attract anyone or anything. You are not a magnet, damn it. You can make anyone love you (trust me) but you don’t need to make anyone love you. You should be you for you and only you. And yes I am talking about you and you and you.
People love you until they don’t need you anymore.
It ain’t love then.

This is my second true crime documentary master post. Click here to see the first one. Each description is taken from IMDB. Click the title to watch the film online for free.
Murder on a Sunday Morning: Oscar-winning documentary that documents a murder trial in which a 15-year-old African-American is wrongfully accused of a 2000 murder in Jacksonville, Florida.
Valentine Road: On February 12, 2008, in Oxnard, California, eighth-grade student Brandon McInerney shot his classmate Larry King twice in the back of the head during first period. When Larry died two days later, his murder shocked the nation. Was this a hate crime, one perpetrated by a budding neo-Nazi whose masculinity was threatened by an effeminate gay kid who may have had a crush on him?
Brother’s Keeper: This documentary by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky details the murder trial of Delbert Ward. Delbert was a member of a family of four elderly brothers, working as semi-literate farmers and living together in isolation from the rest of society until William’s death. A police investigation and Medical Examiner’s autopsy suggested that Bill may not have died from natural causes and Delbert was arrested on charges of Second-Degree Murder.
Killer Legends: Delving into our collective nightmares, this horror-documentary investigates the origins of our most terrifying urban legends and the true stories that may have inspired them.
Witch Hunt: The story of several families who have their lives destroyed when their hometown is whipped into a frenzy by allegations of child molestation.
At the Death House Door: An investigation of the wrongful death of Carlos DeLuna, who was executed in Texas on December 7, 1989, after prosecutors ignored evidence inculpating a man, who bragged to friends about committing the crimes of which DeLuna was convicted.
Just Melvin, Just Evil: An in-depth look at the director James Ronald Whitney’s family history of incest spanning at least three generations and the devastating consequences that include drug abuse and alcoholism.
Death by Fire: Frontline investigates the case of Todd Willingham a Texas man who was executed in 2004 for the fiery deaths of his three daughters. Although he is accused of arson, a forensic scientist discovers that that there is evidence that the fire may have been accidental.
The Last Word: This documentary takes the “Innocent Man on Texas Death Row” tale to a dark corner feared by all - - proving that an innocent man has been executed by the State.
After Innocence: A gripping, emotionally charged film that follows wrongfully convicted men freed by DNA evidence after decades in prison as they struggle to transition back into society.
Give Up Tomorrow: When a teenager from a political family in the Philippines is accused of a double murder, the country’s entire judicial system is put to the test after years of alleged corruption. (I cannot find a working link but it’s on Netflix)
Holocaust: Night Will Fall: Researchers discover film footage from World War II that turns out to be a lost documentary shot by Alfred Hitchcock and Sidney Bernstein in 1945 about German concentration camps.
Crime after Crime: The story of the battle to free Debbie Peagler, an incarcerated survivor of brutal domestic violence. Over 26 years in prison cannot crush the spirit of this determined African-American woman, despite the injustices she has experienced, first at the hands of a duplicitous boyfriend who beat her and forced her into prostitution, and later by prosecutors who cornered her into a life behind bars for her connection to the murder of her abuser.
Every Fucking Day of my Life/One Minute to Nine: The film chronicles the last five days of freedom for Wendy Maldonado before she and her son are sentenced for the manslaughter death of her husband and explores the years of domestic abuse the family experienced prior to his death.
