Since it's been forever and I don't have the time to update my Carrd yet, here's the short list of F/O's I have right now:

And with that also an update:

I have a boyfriend now! 🎉 A real life boyfriend. So chances are quite big that I won't be coming back to my Tumblr. I haven't done any selfship art, or even thought much about my F/O's at all since meeting him. I don't know if that will come back eventually, and if it does I might be around again, but for now I want to put all my focus on him and real life. 💜

I wish everyone the very best in 2024, that it may bring you whatever you desire. 💜

Question for selfshippers with NON live-action f/os (maybe this question has been asked before D:)

Do you imagine an irl version of your non live-action f/o? As in human ethnic features, realistic skin, hair, bodies etc as if they're people you'd meet irl?

How do you imagine them?

I can vaguely imagine them realistically, but prefer to imagine them as they are

Personally I only have a vague picture and I want to imagine them clearer (especially my main f/o) except I don't know how to 😔 maybe I'll practice drawing realistic ethnic features and draw them better to aid my visualisation!

I personally love doing faceclaims for my F/O's whenever I feel like it'd make sense (so if they're very humanoid).

I feel like the one I have the easiest time with is Ji because I found an actual Korean idol that looks like him quite a lot so that gives me an easier time imagining him more realistic, like look at them side by side??

For my other F/O's it's a bit more vague though, like I don't have a single person I feel works for them, more a lineup of features 💜

I actually started playing the game just because of him and BOI did he not dissapoint; the sass, the cute nicknames when you romance him, the romance scenes being all kinds of fun with some good angst and backstory- and those scars on his back??? Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

He honestly is just perfect for me and ticks every single one of my boxes for what I love in a F/O, so it's not surprising that any time he gets a nice cutscene, or does some bantering among the group, I am just this:

yet another post that mentions this supposed phenomena of people trying to be the Number One Shipper for a character and every time I see it I wonder "is that what's actually happening, people are admitting that they want to be the only/most renowned shipper with that character? or are we getting mad about people on their own blogs saying things like they're canon with their love, or that they're CEO of character? or are we getting mad that some non-sharing selfshippers aren't being completely open to interacting with doubles or people who are friends with doubles?"

because I've been in this community for years and I've followed a lot of people and I've never seen anyone actually coming forward and openly saying "only I can like X!!" and I have not seen anything more than just like. people being upset and having normal human feelings in private among friends or under a vent tag on their own blogs. so it makes me have questions, you know? like who are you following, that you're seeing so much of this phenomenon that you feel the need to address it?

or is this actually a case of a pattern I've been picking up on where the general vibe of the community has changed from that of a tag that works to collectively bring together a loose network of people who share a similar (but deeply personal) experience into that of essentially a fandom? and I have to say. If we treat this "community" like a fandom, and police people, and pedestal people, or witch-hunt people for perceived slights...... it is never gonna be that open place of community, it is never going to be welcoming to new members, and it is going to eat itself until it drives away anyone who doesn't fit the exact mold of what the zeitgeist deems popular, and with it any shred of variation and diversity that actually allows for a community to persist and develop naturally.

Usually I don't go into things like this but to me this is such an interesting topic because I actually used to be a "Number One Shipper"

When I first started getting into the community I had one, unpopular F/O that I wouldn't share. I would do free art for everyone so they would quickly aknowledge my blog and ship, and would voice my discomfort to them and my blog whenever someone else shipped with that character (never went directly to a person to harras them though). It got to a point where the only thing I cared about was being known for my ship with that character in the community, pumping out drawings once or twice a day to keep up that "high status", and creatively and mentally drilling myself into madness during it all- not a good time.

The thing that really opened my eyes on how badly I was behaving was when the one other person I knew in the community that actively shipped with him, made a post saying they were removing him from their list "because someone else in the community was a better fit for him". That broke me, I wasn't mentioned but I knew I ruined something good for someone and stopped my nonsense as quick as I was able to.

I changed a lot over the years after, and don't ship with that character anymore either.

So yeah, these kinds of people do exist, some are just not as vocal about it and do it sneakily.
