DAY 13

Can they cook? What’s their favorite meal?

Yes, he can. It’s one of his hobbies. He doesn’t have a favorite meal because he mostly likes trying out new recipes. He likes peach tarts but he can’t perfect it somehow, only Asra knows how to make it right and still trying to get them to teach him.... failed at convincing but still trying.

DAY 14

What does their magic look/feel like?

It depends...

His magic feels soothing, calming, and somewhat peaceful. Mostly the people who’s close to him can feel it. It’s faint and almost silent towards strangers.

When he’s out patrolling, he scatters his magic around if there’s too many thugs since he can only focus on one person at a time.. in case he needed to fight. He can at least feel who’s close and who he needs to handle first. His magic is silent but can make the person feel very tense, alert, and gives chills.

Then..

There’s other side he doesn’t know, but can feel within. When this takes over, it affects his magic. His magic scatters around uncontrollably ; it’s powerful but threatening, hostile, and almost suffocating.

DAY 15

What are they proudest of?

In the Past...

Winning the argument.

The plague was getting out of hand at this time, Asra asked for both of them to leave Vesuvia, but with all the death he have seen and remembering the people who are still trying their best to stay alive... he couldn’t. Plus it’s pointless, he was already affected. He just hid it well behind his hair and stayed strong.

Asra knows when Rigel made up his mind, it’s almost impossible to change it. Their heart hurts the more they argue until they couldn’t take it anymore and left.

Rigel felt relief, frightened , sad but his heart was at ease knowing Asra and Faust would live and survive together. He couldn’t bare the thought of seeing them like the way he saw his patients lose the life in their eyes.

In present time...

No matter how small the accomplishment him, Asra and Faust achieves, he’ll always be proud. With all the places they travel, the time spent, the way they grow together... He’s happy and will continue to be proud.

DAY 11

Do they have a gateway? What does it look like? If they don’t have one, describe their ideal spot instead.

He does have one. It was created when he was a child.

It’s located in-between worlds, at the very top of the docks. So, the only way he can see the door to his gateway is when he vanish. Rigel’s vanish is like Lucio’s(Goat), being in-between worlds where people or magicians shouldn’t be in. When Rigel uses vanish in the realms, all he’d see is the void.

Rigel hoist himself up with his wind magic to reach the door. He can bring along someone else too, but so far, Asra’s the only one who have been there. When he’s tired but wants to be there, he’d ask Amara to lift him up there instead.

GATEWAY

His personal gate is like a wide forest garden. There’s an old willow tree in the middle with white tree trunks. The leaves changes colour depends on Rigel’s emotion(s), the flowers bloom if there’s someone else with him, that would be his emotion(s) towards that person.

[ White - Nostalgia ; Blue- Curiosity/Heavy thoughts ; Purple - Self-doubt, Yellow - Cheerful/Positive ; Green - Neutral ; Black - Anxiety/Uncertainty Red - Aggressive/Hateful/Mad... etc. ]

Rigel and Asra got married here. The moment the vow was said, the leaves turned into the colour of Rainbow. It’ll only turn into a Rainbow whenever Asra visits.

Rigel can go to a different realm when they jump into the pond. Or use one of the many paths there, they won’t know where they’ll end up thought. It’s not explored as much. Some path are blocked and not ready to be open yet. He still don’t know how but he’s figuring it out with Asra.

There’s a door in the middle of the Tree, it only appears when the leaves are coloured white/rainbow. It takes him back to any place that he already visited; In Vesuvia or outside of Vesuvia.

DAY 8

Now let’s give their familiar the spotlight! Tell us all about them!

AMARA

A giant octo~ Amara’s mostly at the docks. She will only show herself if Rigel’s around. Mostly where there’s barely any people around too.

Amara’s very motherlike. She cares so much, she’s very loving, supportive, curious and very talkative. She’s also honest, direct and rarely sugar coat her words. She will scold Rigel if he did something wrong or will comfort and give advice if he feels lost.

Amara can easily notice the changes in Rigel’s emotions and would almost feel the same. She gets excited if Rigel is, feel warm if Rigel’s happy, be mad if someone affect Rigel negatively, etc.

Whenever Rigel’s feeling lost, sad or exhausted and in need of sleep; Amara would offer to travel by sea and go far enough that all they’ll hear are the calming sound of the waves. If Asra’s there, she’ll absolutely be happy to take them along. She knows how much they make Rigel feel happy and better.

There, she’ll sing a lullaby. Rigel doesn’t need to say anything, she just wants him to relax and be well rested. They would sometimes sing together.

Rigel and Asra travels the sea with Amara from time to time.

DAY 9

Do they have a patron arcana? Who is it? What’s their relationship like?

The Fool and Queen of Cups.

Rigel always receive guidance from the Queen of cups when needed. Even at times he didn’t expect.

DAY 10

What is their relationship to the other arcana like?

DAY 7

Second week! Let’s go back to their physical description but go even deeper! Do they have tattoos, piercings, scars, etc? What sort of clothes do they like?

Rigel have a lot scars on both of his palm, that’s why he’s always wearing gloves. There’s a long scar on his back and a few small but faded ones.

Clothing

Rigel doesn’t really like wearing any type of accessories. The only ones he wear are the necklace that was with him since he was a baby and Asra’s gift.

The type of clothing he loves are those that are loose and very comfortable to wear. He also like wearing vests. Anything that are silky and soft fabric.

Just little example:

Rigel’s not used to wearing fancy clothing, but he have no problem with it as long as he can move freely and it’s not too tight or rough texture. He’d just be annoyed later on changing out of it.

DAY 5

Do they have any other friends outside of canon? What about the minor characters?

Rigel have a few friends outside of canon. ( Most of those characters belongs to other people~ )

Canon minor characters:

NAHARA

Rigel appreciate her being honest and straightforward.

Staying at the palace from time to time, whenever the Satrinavas visits, they would cross path and just talk. He was the one who asked the favour to train him how to be a better fighter physically, if she knows how. They don’t meet often or train as much though, but they do get along well.

Rigel just likes being with people who are direct and blunt at times.

SELASI

Rigel always enjoys hanging out with Selasi when he can. He likes listening to Selasi talk while eating pumpkin bread. Rigel always been grateful for him, even more when he tried to help out Asra and always being supportive. Overall a good friend to both him and Asra.

AISHA & SALIM

Rigel’s still a little overwhelmed and don’t really know how to act around Asra’s parents but he’s really trying his best. He would help them whenever he can and they would do the same back if Rigel needs it. Aisha and Salim do make it easy to approach them, and Rigel’s appreciates it and would try to adjust quicker. He prefer if Asra’s there than to be alone thought.

SIGMUND ( OC )

Rigel’s aloof childhood friend who have always been there for him. Sigmund helps Rigel out with patrolling in the past, and would fight along side him. More on physical combat while Rigel with magic. They have been close since the beginning but then falls apart after the resurrection. Rigel doesn’t remember him, only a bit. Sigmund is still willing to help out even then.

DAY 6

Now, do they have any rivals? Maybe even a WORST ENEMY!? Spill the deets now!

Rigel have a lot. Since he interfere with anything dangerous/illegal that’s been going on only at the dead of the night and disappearing without a trace, a lot of thugs and others more are always cautious and more careful now. Especially when Rigel actually got a few members caught and are now in the dungeon under the coliseum.

No one has seen Rigel’s face, but they’re aware of him and will always have a look out to try and capture Rigel. There are some that would follow Rigel during day time, suspecting him. He would notice it right away. It’s easy for him to get out of there. If Asra’s with him, he’ll stand where Asra would be blocked from those people’s sight and get out of there fast while making sure Asra won’t notice too.

DAY 4

What about the courtiers? Have they met them? What do they think of them?

Rigel met them all.

Vlastomil & Vulgora

Rigel avoids these two the most and try his best to not get involve with any of them. If it seems impossible to get pass these two, he’d just turn invisible before they spot him and sneak out of there.

Rigel finds Vlastomil as weird and odd. Even if he tries to stay neutral when Vlastomil talks to him, it shows on his face how much he’s weirded out and would try to cut the conversation short.

Then, the other one, he finds Vulgora as annoying and too much. Rigel would avoid trouble as much as possible so he’ll definitely would not cross path with them.

Valdemar

Rigel’s more cautious towards them. He rarely sees them, and he prefers it that way. Somehow, just seeing them triggers memories that makes him feel overwhelmed and uneasy, even more since it’s all distorted memories. He would feel alarmed just seeing them approach, and it would trigger his fight response if they get too close.

Valerius

Rigel still hasn’t forgotten the way valerius spilled wine on him and called him a witch. He overall hate valerius’ personality. Rigel is still aloof and cold towards him and would also avoid him as much as possible.

But after that one encounter [ link ] , he feels indifferent and conflicted. But he still dislike him.

Volta

He’s somewhat fond of her. He feels bad at how she’s being treated that he'd want to protect her. He would try to get her out of Vulgora’s sight and won’t know what to do after, he kinda acted unintentionally. They’ll either go back to whatever task they have, or she’ll cling to Rigel. She’s very chatty and appreciative that it’s so precious.

Rigel doesn’t mind cooking for her, or well, he can’t help but want to give her food when she ask for it. Now she’ll always greet Rigel whenever he visits the palace. Since he’s one of the palace cooks, he’ll carry her on his back on the way to the kitchen, better than her clinging to his leg. The other cooks won’t mind Volta being there too… as long as she doesn’t eat all the food that she sees. Rigel don’t mind looking after her then.

DAY 3

Give a short summary of their relationship to the other main characters!

MURIEL

Rigel’s not really certain if Muriel considers him as a friend or even want to befriend him. One thing for sure is that Rigel’s thankful and have a lot of respect for Muriel. Whenever Asra and Rigel visit him at his hut, they’ll all just be quiet and do their own thing. It was just chill and calming.

Rigel would mostly just paint the wooden animals that Muriel carved. He was hesitant at first to ask, but really wants to paint it. Asra was the one who brought it up to Muriel and he allowed him. So now, Rigel would gladly visit alone just to finish painting and starting on another.

NADIA

She’s a dear friend. Nadia have always been supportive, and Rigel wants to return the favour in any way he can. He’ll help her whenever he has the time, doing work in the palace.

Sometimes, they’ll just have tea, snacks, and talk about their daily life. She would often tease Rigel and makes him flustered so easily. It surprises him every time. He does enjoy her company. She makes it easy for Rigel to talk to her, that’s why there are few chances where he’d open up a little. Asking for an advice and such.

JULIAN

Rigel is still a bit wary of Julian( cuz he saw something he probably shouldn’t have at the library- ) Rigel’s okay with him. He doesn’t trust him that much, but he believes in Julian’s capability as a doctor. During late night patrolling around Vesuvia, there would be times where he’d find someone hurt. Rigel would take that person to Julian’s clinic since his healing magic are the weakest. Rigel have to makes sure no one’s following first since he doesn’t want anyone to be targeted.

He doesn’t mind listening to Julian’s stories. He finds him being dramatic somewhat amusing. Rigel would often prank him because of it. Julian gives the best reactions.

PORTIA

She’s like a little sister and bestfriend. He doesn’t mind teaching her a few simple magic tricks and would actually be patient with her. Rigel simply adores her bubbly personality and the way she does things. He would help her with the work around the palace when he has time. They would sometimes play pranks and have a good laugh.

Rigel also finds it adorable how curious she can be when it comes to magic and him being a magician. He’ll gladly show her what she wants to know as long as he can do it.

LUCIO

He’s dead.

DAY 2

Who is their LI? What’s their relationship like?

Rigel’s lover is Asra.

When two mischievous magicians are together, they’re bound to cause trouble or attract trouble and most definitely knows by now how to get out of it. All fun and nothing harmful of course, unless someone starts to harm one of them, then…

Overall , it’s balanced. They both understand one another and both have a lot of patience too. Asra’s used to Rigel’s gestures and mannerism that they’re fine with him not speaking at all, they’d still understand. Asra will stay by Rigel’s side when he’s feeling detached from reality, no matter how long it takes. Or when he’s doubting himself, Asra will always reassure him.

Rigel’s the same when it comes to Asra.

Asra’s very vocal, especially towards their love for Rigel. But there are times where Asra’s trying hard to act the same even when something’s clearly wrong. Rigel would notice that right away.

They both don’t need their shared heart to know what the other is feeling.

Whenever Asra’s feeling down, Rigel would just close the shop and stay with them all day even if he just opened it.

He would gladly give Asra all the attention, cook their favourite food, read a story, sing a song for them, anything that will cheer them up. He and Faust won’t leave Asra alone until they both know they’re okay. Rigel would actually be vocal here since it makes Asra feel calm by hearing reassuring words directly from him.

They always show each other affection, care, and it’s effortless for both to think of ways to make each other happy. Even with silence, they’re both comfortable just being together. They both give each other the freedom to do whatever or befriend whomever since they trust each other completely.

But of course, there are times where they would both argue.

After an argument, they’ll mostly just be in complete silence or one of them will leave for a little while, it won’t last long. They both hate it. Once things calm down, they'll always talk about everything and make sure they both understand one another.

They won’t argue about the same thing again so it’s rare for them to fight now… the only argument they can’t settle is when Rigel sneaks out to roam around Vesuvia late at night until dawn. It’s something Rigel does even in the past, patrolling around to see if someone needs help or something that needs to report back to Nadia to keep the Vesuvia safe. Asra is still not okay with it since there are times where Rigel goes home wounded.

Other than that....

They will always have each other’s back no matter what.

Personality:

Rigel may appear cold and unapproachable, but he’s kind-hearted. He just puts up a lot of wall that one needs to break first before seeing a different side of him.

He’d be clear with his actions and facial expressions though. You’d know right away if he’s okay with you, dislike you, uninterested, etc. He’s honest that way.

He’s quiet but he’s not shy nor an introvert. He just feel like something’s limiting him from speaking too much or acting too much. So when he speaks, at some point.. he’d feel odd and stop mid sentence. It was from before he was brought back to life where speaking and doing something drains his energy quick.

Rigel’s a mischievous magician who uses his magic mostly for tricks and messing around with people whom he doesn’t like or the one who messed with him first.

He can be quite stubborn at times. Once he made up his mind, there’s barely any chance to change his mind. Whatever the outcome may be, good or bad, he won’t regret what he did.

Likes:

Anything bitter. Hates anything sweet but Peach tarts are an exception.

Cooking

Reading. Any type. From folklore, fairytales, about magic, etc.

Learning new things; Recipes, art and crafts, languages, etc.

Travel the sea with Amara and Asra.

Singing in private. Playing the harp at the palace.

Rigel’s height is 6′0. He has a lean and slightly muscular body. He has a dark blue-ish medium length curly hair. Has a fair skin tone and blue eyes. He also have sharp canine teeth.

Clothing:

Vests, soft and puffy type of clothing. Wears gloves almost all day, every day. Likes boots , mostly with heels. Always wearing his silver pendant and Asra’s Heartsong festival gift.

Asra being my comfort character , I gave the new tale a try- I wished I didn’t. I was just confused, disappointed and frustrated after. I saw a lot of people talked about it that’s similar to how I felt after reading it.. So, I’m not gonna rant and repeat what has already been said and pointed out.

I just drew this as a way for me to forget about it and move on.
