“LOTIONGATE” Suspect Arrested; Herbologist Under Investigation
Wednesday, 9 May, 1976
Aurors arrested herbologist Gerald Troy late last night in connection to the infection that left 53 witches and wizards quarantined in St. Mungo’s late last month. All 53 victims had arrived at St. Mungo’s with severe burns after using a eucalyptus lotion from Troy’s new skincare line. The lotion was available for sale at the Tutshill Arts & Crafts Fair this year, but has since been recalled, as has the rest of the skincare line that Troy designed.
Charming – the cosmetics company backing Troy’s skincare line – issued a public statement on Monday.
“Charming is an open-minded and open-hearted company. The goal of Charming is to help witches and wizards find their own beauty and inner peace. What happened with Mr. Troy’s skincare line was the exact opposite, and we find the incident deeply disheartening.”
In addition to cooperating fully with the DMLE, Charming has launched its own investigation into the incident. While Charming has not released any information discovered in their investigation, the company has made it clear that they do not share the DMLE’s beliefs that Troy was involved.
“We have worked with Mr. Troy for months now to ensure nothing short of the highest quality of products. Both Mr. Troy and the company were pleased with the formulas created for the skincare line. We do not believe that the product sold at the fair was that formula.”
Good evening, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here with breaking news.
All 53 quarantined patients have been officially released from St. Mungo’s. For the past week, Witches and Wizards flocked to the hospital with burn marks, ranging from minor to full-body coverage, due to a contaminated eucalyptus lotion sold by Herbologist Gerald Troy at the Tushill Arts & Crafts Fair last month.
Healers relayed to the press that the infection is treatable and not contagious, so patients have been released with at-home care instructions. Nearly all those affected are positively responding to treatment, and the burn marks are healing well.
Gerald Troy and the staff at Charming have been interrogated by the DMLE, but no arrests have been made at this time. As always, the WWN will keep you updated as we learn more.
Rest easy, Great Britain. This has been Malcom Jordan with a WWN Breaking News Alert.
Good evening, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here with breaking news.
St. Mungo’s has now quarantined nearly 30 witches and wizards, all exhibiting burn marks that range in severity, despite no encounter with fire. The DMLE, with aid from a number of highly trained Potioneers, believes this affliction to be a result of eucalyptus lotion sold by the Tutshill shop, Charming, last weekend at the Arts & Crafts Fair. This particular lotion---purchased and used by all patients---is part of a skincare line from Herbologist Gerald Troy. Both Troy, as well as all employees of Charming have been taken in for questioning by the DMLE.
While healers are still unsure if the skin condition is contagious, some patients are responding will to treatment, and their burns seem to be healing. We sincerely hope for a speedy recovery for all affected.
The WWN will keep you updated as we learn more. Stay safe, Great Britain. This has been Malcom Jordan with a WWN Breaking News Alert.
OOC Info---
Howdy, friends! So there’s still a few things more to come with this plot, but we encourage all members to take advantage of it. We’d love to see some characters affected by this malady, so if you’re interested in volunteering your character or perhaps an NPC important to them (EX: family member), please message your admins so we can help you! (We’ll give you extra information, that way you can plot around, and add onto, what we already have set up!)
Or maybe you have a character in the DMLE, and we’d love to see Gerald Troy’s interrogation on the dash. If you’re screaming “pick me!” then be sure to drop a message in the DMLE channel on Discord. For other characters in the Ministry, we’re sure they’re dealing with countless questions from the press. Feel free to collaborate with other characters here! Will we see more original songs on the dash about this? (We’re looking at you, Mundungus.)
If you want to take advantage of this plot (and we hope all of you do!), feel free to reach out to us admins. We’re here for you! And, of course, you’ll learn more information in due time. So hang on, fam. Drama is comin’ your way!
Good afternoon, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here with breaking news.
A total of 19 witches and wizards have been quarantined at St. Mungo’s, and the number is growing. All patients exhibit burn marks across their skins, ranging in severity, although none report actually receiving these injuries from fire. So far, all patients developed the burns earlier this morning, and immediately went to the hospital. Until healers are certain this malady isn’t contagious, all those afflicted will be quarantined until deemed safe.
Right now, the symptoms include the appearance of burns on the skin, and some stinging and aching depending on the severity of the burn. St. Mungo’s urges all to be wary of ointments, potions, and various products, and should avoid anything applied topically until deemed safe for usage. We’ve also received reports that the DMLE is working with Potioneers to investigate this situation fully and locate the cause of this affliction.
The WWN will keep you updated as we learn more. Stay safe, Great Britain. This has been Malcom Jordan with a WWN Breaking News Alert.
Feeling crafty? If so, be sure to stop by Tutshill this weekend, as the town hosts its ninth annual Arts & Crafts Fair. Beginning today, and running through Sunday, vendors and artisans from across Great Britain will sell their handcrafted (or, ahem, wandcrafted) pieces. This event is family-friendly, and you can even bring your crup. Here’s a highlight of some of the vendors you definitely don’t want to miss:
Start off your day with a spot of tea (or coffee, if that’s your thing) at Witches Brew. 5% of the weekend’s profits will be given to the Fair Fortune Wine Bar in Holyhead, which sustained damages in early March during Derrick Wilkes’s capture. (Not to worry; the wine wasn’t damaged, but the building could use a metal charmer. Or two.)
Time is of the essence, so be sure to visit Gemma Mintumble’s collection of handcrafted clocks. Her pieces range from grandiose grandfathers, colorful cuckoos, and attention-grabbing alarm clocks. Mintumble takes requests, should you find yourself seeking a particularly unique clock. (And her collection does not include a Time-Turner, thank you very much, Great-Great-Great Aunt Eloise.)
Did someone say antique shopping? Tutshill is home to locally-loved Treasure Chest Antiques. Whether you’re looking for dressers that automatically fold clothing in the drawers, vases that keep flowers fresher for longer, or mirrors that offer advice on your appearance, this shop has all manner of antique furniture and home goods.
Food never tasted (or smelled) as good as the grub found in Pit Stop Park. This unofficial park on the edge of Tutshill is lined with cobblestoned sidewalks, and referred to commonly as the Pit Stop Park, after all of the food trolleys that park there. Experience a variety of tastes from trolleys such as Sushi Tsunami, Pepperoni Pizzazz, Quick Quiche, and Bangers-and-Dash, and many more.
Round out your day with some quality relaxation---or at least in preparation for it. If you're looking to treat yourself like the high enchantress or enchanter you knew you were born to be, Charming is the shop you've been waiting for. Choose from a range of tonics, salts, and potions sure to give your skin a glow for any occasion. The shop will also feature a new lotions and body oils line from Gerald Troy, who utilizes his expertise in Herbology to create his all-natural skincare products.
Don’t forget to swing by Tutshill’s shops, restaurants, and pubs while you’re in town. Trust us, it’ll be one groovy time!
Just a bit of OOC info:
Thank goodness it’s the weekend, right? Since our characters are probably still winding down from the epic ABC Party, we thought to bring you a relaxing event this weekend. Spring fever is all around, so why not spend it outside, supporting local vendors and artisans? Well, fictional ones at least.
Heads up: while the fair will take place Saturday and Sunday IC, we will allow starters to be posted between 8 am EST on Saturday, April 21st and 5 pm EST on Monday, April 23rd. You’re more than welcome to continue threads after this timeframe, we just ask you refrain from posting event starters after it’s concluded, because we want to keep the plot moving.
One last thing, because you know we love spoilers. Something unsavory is brewing, and you may see a little more info come to a dash near you very soon. Aaaaaand that’s all the spoilers you get!
Howdy, fam. Say hello to another #AOW Challenge! Last time we encouraged you to get visual and capture the essence of your role. Now we’re challenging you to take a deep dive into a place or space important to your character. Intrigued? We hope so! Let’s get into the nitty gritty.
In this #AOW Challenge, we’re asking you to explore an environment familiar to your character. Perhaps it’s their current residence or childhood home, or maybe it’s a spot of great importance. However you interpret this is totally up to you and your character! All we ask is you use this challenge to explore a physical space that’s relevant to your role.
Once you’ve picked that environment, we want you to invite us all in. Okay, not literally, but we want you to describe that space—enough so that any member here can visualize this. Maybe you do this through a visual or Pinterest board; if graphics aren’t your jam, you could write a drabble or headcanon. However you want to describe this space is totally up to you. So go wild! Don’t let anything hold you back, and create something that feels right for you and your brilliant role.
Once you complete this challenge, post it on your character’s blog, and plop it into the #AOW Challenge and #AOW Talk tags so everyone can see. We’re looking forward to see what you come up with! If you have any questions, your friendly neighborhood admins are only an ask away. :)
Just last month, a gathering of over 500 protestors flooded the Ministry of Magic’s Atrium, resulting in a shutdown that lasted around six days.
After rumors of plans to riot and destruction of public property, Minister Minchum ordered Aurors and Hit Wizards to escort all protestors off the premises. The Ministry has since reopened, and it’s “business as usual,” Rodolphus Lestrange, the Special Advisor of Security for the Minister, commented.
Many wonder if another protest will occur, and what plans the Ministry has to prevent future demonstrations from escalating to the degree they did last month. There is also speculation whether the rumors of riot were part of the Ministry’s plan to end the demonstration.
The Minister has not released further comment, leaving the public only to speculate further.
It turned out that there was a thing such as Too Much Fun, and it was a lesson learned the hard way by the congregants of the ABC Party. At roughly three o’clock in the morning (on April 8th, a Sunday, the Lord’s day, as one of Fabian Prewett’s neighbors had put it) the Muggle police arrived with three loud, sharp taps against the front door to address a noise complaint. Luckily, there was no further investigation, but the guests of the party were asked to make their way home (or anywhere else that didn’t house grumpy, sleepy neighbors).
As the brother of the host, Gideon Prewett (@heroicgideon) was quick to step up to help with the clean-up---or tried to, anyway. The police had come round about halfway through a rousing game of Truth or Dare that had rendered Gideon fairly useless, due to a particularly strong casting of the Jelly-Legs Curse. Luckily, the caster of the Jelly-Legs Curse remembered to undo it before leaving the flat, but it still took time for the effects to wear off completely. Nevertheless, Gideon did his best, wobbling around on legs that were still struggling to wake up.
While most guests were quick to leave, Dawn Withey (@dawnmaywithey) had the most trouble with this particular task. If the massive glass of Gigglewater wasn’t enough to send Dawn into a frenzy, the shot of Veritaserum that someone slipped into it sure is. As if the horror of spouting painful truths isn’t embarrassing enough, having almost no choice but to laugh at each of them might be a gentle push over the edge.
Outraged by both the Muggle policemen’s interruption to her fun and the boisterous crowd that had brought them calling in the first place, Amelia Bones (@msameliabones) put down her glass of gin (for the time being) to help usher people out safely and inconspicuously. After weeding out those who were sober enough to apparate or otherwise transport party goers across the United Kingdom, she began assigning drunk wizards and witches to designated apparators.
Maybe after all this, the next party’s theme should be Anything But Chaos. Be careful to get home safely, folks.
When the Ministry had cleared out and the dust had settled in the Atrium, the ragged and tired crowds that had gathered were left to head home, most of them discouraged and downtrodden.
But not everyone!
In celebration of the highly raised middle finger the Wizarding world flipped at the Ministry, and all the hard work of those who made it possible, the inspired youth of Wizarding London deemed it an appropriate time to host a celebration party.
In other words: join Fabian Prewett at his flat in London this Saturday for a party you’ll never forget (if you can remember it come the morning after, that is). The theme is Anything But Clothes (“ABC” Party), so come prepared to compete for the most creative, non-conventional garment in attendance. (Psst – need some costume inspo? Check this out.) Doors open at 10 pm, and close whenever the last man standing collapses from either excitement or exhaustion.
(Those who wish to wear their normal robes or Muggle garments will not be denied entrance, but will be asked to supply their own beer and/or booze.)
Some OOC Info For Ya
Ta da! Another exciting and fun event to allow our characters to let loose now that the Ministry protests have wound down. Anyone knows Fabian is invited to this shindig, and anyone who knows those anyones is invited by extension, and— Well, long story short, everyone is invited to attend! Because Fabian lives in a Muggle apartment building, it’s of utmost importance that everyone plays it safe with magic. (In other words, have fun toeing the line of the International Statute of Secrecy – and maybe even crossing it – with your characters!)
If your character wants to join in on the costume fun, be sure to post their attire to the dash! Feel free to use the tag AOW: ABC Party. (Psst – need some costume inspo? Check this out.)
While the party begins at 10 pm on Saturday for our characters, but for us, it will run from 7 pm EST on Friday, April 6th, through 1 pm EST on Monday, April 9th. You can still reply to threads from the event for as long as is needed, but please don’t post or reply to any event starters after this time!
In conjunction with this event, we’re introducing Event Roulette! What’s that, you ask? Allow us to explain:
The first five people to write into the main’s ask will be assigned a specific task for the event (don’t worry, we’ll make sure it’s within their characterization, and we won’t force you to RP anything you’re not comfortable with!). These will be simple tasks, and will keep this fun event moving along. We’ll post more information right smack dab in the middle of the party, listing those involved with the Event Roulette (and their special tasks for the event).
If you don’t get an Event Roulette this time, no worries! There will be still plenty happening at the ABC party, which your character will be able to participate in. Not to mention, there will be a handful events in the future, and we’ll make sure everyone eventually partakes in an Event Roulette! More information on that very soon. For now, get ready for the ABC Party!
Good morning. I come to you today to say we, the Ministry of Magic, have heard your demands and outpourings of passion. While the Ministry respects and encourages its citizens to express themselves freely, it is my duty as Minister to keep the public safe. This has been a priority of mine since my campaign began nearly two years ago, and will continue as I hold this position.
Earlier this morning, I received confirmation that the protests against the Ministry plan to turn violent later today, with rioting and destruction of property encouraged. This behavior will not be tolerated.
As I speak, Aurors and Hit Wizards have been dispatched to the Atrium to escort all protestors out of the Ministry. Anyone who refuses to leave will be detained, and could face criminal prosecution. Once the building is deemed safe, the shutdown will cease and Ministry personnel will be permitted to work once more.
Thank you for your time.
Cheers for OOC info!
We’re finally hearing from good ole Harold Minchum, and we’re hoping to see a handful of reactions here on the dash. Like with all plots coming from the AOW News blog, please go ham! Really, let your character do whatever feels right for them and their story.
We’ll give you a few jumping off points, and feel free to message your admins if you need/have any other suggestions!
Is your character at the protest? If so, will leave leave peacefully?
Will your character practically chain themselves to the statue in the Atrium (or, uh, literally), and boldly face detainment?
Maybe you have an Auror or Hit Wizard, so feel free to take advantage of the escorting and/or arresting!
Perhaps your character couldn’t give a crap about the protest, and they’re beyond over hearing news about it. In their mind, does this mark the end of the protests?
We’re so excited to see what you come up with! We know it’ll be amazing. If you write any drabbles, be sure to plop it into our tag so everyone can read it. :)
Good morning, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here with breaking news. Minister Minchum will make a statement within the hour regarding the protest against the Ministry of Magic. The press release will be publicized here on the WWN, so stay tuned, folks.
This has been Malcom Jordan with a WWN Breaking News Alert.
As the protest against the Ministry of Magic continues, many wonder what will put an end to the growing crowd of witches and wizards airing their grievances. On Monday evening, the gathering reached nearly 500 individuals, and the protest is predicted to garner the same size today.
Last Friday, Ministry employees were sent home early from work, and they haven’t returned since. The Minister’s support staff explained to the Daily Prophet that until the safety of all employees is guaranteed, the Ministry of Magic will be shutdown until further notice. “Everyone’s heard rumors of rioting possibly happening at the protest,” Bertha Jorkins, part of the Wizard Resources Office, explained.
The Minister’s support staff also announced Derrick Wilkes was taken to Azkaban yesterday, after postponing last Friday due to the safety of personnel involved in the transfer. Wilkes begins his 24 month sentence, possibly only one year and parole with good behavior.
Since Thursday, March 22nd, Witches and Wizards have flocked to the Ministry for peaceful protest. The crowd has doubled in size, nearing almost 350. The Ministry’s Atrium is packed with persons, and some wonder if the crowd will turn violent.
Yesterday afternoon, an internal communication memo asked all Ministry personnel to leave work immediately and not return until further notice. Bertha Jorkins, part of the Wizard Resources Office that sent out the memo, explained, “The Ministry is naturally worried about the safety of its employees. We’ve all heard rumors that this whole gathering could turn riotous. I personally spoke to Minister Minchum, who expressed concern for all Ministry employees and their families.”
Earlier today, the Minister’s support staff issued a public statement that the protestors’ demands are heard, and the Ministry’s top priority continues to be public safety. Additionally, due to the growing size of the protest, Derrick Wilkes’ escort to Azkaban has been postponed indefinitely. “Wilkes will be taken to Azkaban once it’s deemed safe for all parties involved,” a member of the support staff relayed to the Daily Prophet.
The announcement that Wilkes’ escort to Azkaban has been delayed has reportedly increased the protest’s fervor.
We interrupt this broadcast for breaking news, live from the Ministry of Magic Atrium. I’m Marlene McKinnon, and standing before me is a sight much more alarming than a pair of rogue bludgers.
Ever since the conviction and sentencing of Derrick Wilkes yesterday evening, a crowd of civilians has been growing inside the Ministry, in both size and restlessness. What began as a few shouts and posters at eleven o’clock this morning has quickly evolved into--- Well, some better organized shouting, and some really [[EXPLETIVE -- CENSORED]] colorful signs.
On the surface, the crowd seems to be yelling about Wilkes’ sentence, but one of the organizers of this protest has agreed to give us more insight into the gathering... And your name---?
“Glinda Crook, and this is more than a gathering. This is outrage. This is a demand for change. This is the Wizarding world asking their government for better---for what we deserve, at the minimum.”
Right, sure. Care to elaborate on that?
“Gladly. We want a Ministry who means what they say, and says what they mean, ya dig? When they say their transparent, they should practice it. Action speak louder than words, and the Ministry has barely given us an action to even decipher in the first place. We’re no closer to knowing anything about that hex from the last time we met here, and we’ve no idea why they’ve given Wilkes such a light sentence.”
And you---
“I mean, kidnapping someone? Torturing them? And he could be back on the streets within a year? What kind of message does that send to others of his way of thinking? What kind of message does that send to the rest of us? I’ll tell you what it says to me, it says the Minister of Magic doesn’t give a damn about the rest of us, that’s what.”
Okay, and--- Yeah. Yeah, wow. Uh--- Do you--- If anyone wants to join you, what should--- What do you think they should do?
“Come out while you can! It’s only a matter of time before they try to shut us down, but there’s power in numbers. If you feel me, and you feel this message, join us in communicating it to our government. They need to know how we feel, and we have every right to demand that they be mindful of it.”
So true. I mean, okay, so--- Things are heating up here at the Ministry, and--- Back to the program. I mean, back to your scheduled program. We’ll be live all evening, so stay tuned for updates.
Hop on in, fam. We’re getting some OOC info.
Hey there, ho there! We have another plot drop coming your way, and the intensity will keep growing over the next few days. We hope you’re hype, because this is a good one.
To give you a succinct recap, hundreds of Witches and Wizards have flocked to the Ministry Atrium in protest, and it’s peaceful thus far. The crowd is angry, upset, and demands answers. The Ministry hasn’t addressed allegations that Derrick Wilkes is or isn’t associated with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Also, Minister Minchum hasn’t outwardly addressed who fired the hex into the crowd of protestors a couple of weeks ago, or if they’re facing punishment.
Overall, the protestors demand transparency from the Ministry. They feel it’s not enough for the government to say “no worries, we got your back.” The protestors believe it’s their right, as citizens, to know what’s happening. Moreover, the possibility of Wilkes serving only one year (with good behavior) for the literal abduction and torture of another Wizard is incredibly frightening for many folks, especially Muggleborns. What precedent does this case set? With so much confusion, too many questions, and not enough answers, it’s no wonder why a large protest has unfolded at the Ministry.
So this is where your characters come in! We’ve set the stage, now it’s your turn to evaluate where your character stands and if they will take action. Below you’ll find a few jumping off points and suggestions, but feel free to take this plot drop in a direction that best suits your role. If you have any questions for us, or ideas about the protest, hit up your friendly neighborhood admins!
Alright, check out some ideas:
Does your character believe in better transparency from the Ministry?
If so, would they attend to the protest? (Could you play that out via .gif threads/starters or drabbles?)
Or does your character support this, but doesn’t wish to attend the protest? After all, a hex was fired into a previous crowd of protestors. Who’s to say someone won’t get hurt this time?
Is your character 100% against the protest? Do they believe something along the lines of, “Hey, let the government do our job. This isn’t our business. Stop whining!”
Or do none of the above apply to your character, and they have a completely different view of what’s happening?
Overall, how does your character express their opinion on the dash?
Again, these are only starting points for you. Please get your creative juices flowing and collaborate with your fellow AOW members!
If you have any questions, holla at your admins! We’re here for you. And now, on with the plot drop.
Good evening, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here inside the Ministry of Magic with a breaking news alert.
The Wizengamot has reached a verdict in the Derrick Wilkes trial. Wilkes has been sentenced to twenty-four months in Azkaban for the kidnapping and torture of Chudley Cannons seeker Galvin Gudgeon, with possibility of parole with a year of good behavior.
The verdict is being met with a mix of emotional reactions, the most notable being reports from inside the Wizengamot’s chambers that Mrs. Gudgeon -- Galvin’s mother -- fainted at the news. The crowd that gathered to hear the verdict is stunned with silence and confusion. Some of the citizens gathered outside of the courtroom have begun to vocalize their opinions as time wears on.
Wilkes is scheduled to be escorted to Azkaban Friday morning to carry out his sentence.
Stay tuned to the WWN for the latest updates on the Derrick Wilkes trial. Stay safe, Great Britain. This has been Malcom Jordan with a WWN Breaking News Alert.
The Wizarding Wireless Network News – Tuesday, 20 March 1976
Good evening, Great Britain. Malcolm Jordan here, and it’s the twentieth of March.
Today, Derrick Wilkes faced trial for the abduction of Galvin Gudgeon last month. In an unusual turn of events, the Wizengamot requested a recess. Wilkes’ hearing is set to resume---and predicted to conclude---tomorrow afternoon.
The WWN interviewed a handful of citizens, many who remarked apprehension due to the recess. The closed hearing, of course, doesn’t diminish public worry as well, especially since many wonder if Wilkes is associated with the Death Eaters.
Be sure to stay close to your wireless tomorrow, folks. The WWN will update you with the verdict as soon as it’s made public.
Rest easy, Great Britain. I’m Malcolm Jordan, and this was the the WWN News. Good night.
If you're not planning to be in Cork this weekend, it’s time to reevaluate your schedule. No one knows how to party like the Wizarding community in Cork, Ireland, and in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, they’re willing to give the public partying lessons on both the 17th and 18th.
Start the day off strong with a cuppa Irish Luck at Witches Brew. (Only the Cork location will be serving this special concoction of coffee, flavored with Gold Medal Caramel and Irish cream.)
Everyone is welcome to participate in the Sniffler Niffler Leprechaun Gold Hunt in the town square from 10 am to noon (but be sure to sign up ahead of time to secure yourself a Niffler!).
Next, make your way to Betsy’s Butterbeer Stand for lunch, where you can try their specialty Rainbow Lager Floats (and Rainbow Rootbeer for the kiddos). Both the straws and the drinks change color with every sip!
After Cork’s famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade, keep the fun going with a visit to the arcade at the Lucky Leprechaun Pizzeria & Arcade. While the kids use their discounted arcade tokens on prize winning tournaments, adults can enjoy colorful cocktail concoctions at the bar (and sober up a slice or two of green pizza pie).
Grab dinner at Glynnis Grill, where the Irish National vs. Fitchburg Finches Quidditch match will be broadcast live over the wireless.
End the night with an open skate at the Bowtruckle Boogie: Roller Rink & Disco. Unless you fancy yourself a real St. Patrick’s Day expert; if that’s the case, save your energies for the Patrick Party at the Kinky Kestral (which will close at 5 am instead of its usual 4 am in honor of the holiday).
OOC (& contest) Info---
Happy St. Patrick’s day, y’all! Here’s a lighthearted event for our characters to let loose with for the weekend. While the festivities will take place Saturday and Sunday IC, we will allow starters to be posted between 5 pm EST on Friday, March 16th and 5 pm EST on Monday, March 19th.
But this event is more than an excuse to give our characters some chill time. It will also be a contest: activity during this event will help determine a House Cup winner for one of the past years at Hogwarts. (You’ll notice we left that information blank on the Hogwarts page; well, now is that time to start changing all that!)
Below, you’ll find a list of ways to earn points for your activity, and how much each task will earn you. Submit your points by noon EST on Wednesday, March 21st, and tell us which Hogwarts house you’re putting them towards. The house who earns the most points will be declared the winner of the House Cup---and the year will be chosen by the character (or their player) who earns the most points!
Earning Points:
Every starter you post between now and Monday at 5 p.m. EST rewards your character 10 points.
Every time your character replies to a new starter, they’re rewarded 10 points. (Please note, this is only a one time per starter reward. I.E.: your character does not receive 10 points per reply, but rather every starter they reply to.)
If your starter gets over 50 notes worth of replies, your character will be rewarded 50 points.
If your starter gets over 100 notes worth of replies, your character will be rewarded 100 points.
Any drabble you post for your character which is over 100 words will receive 20 points.
Any drabble you post for your character which is over 300 words will receive 30 points.
Any themed playlists you create will reward your character 20 points. (Note: please make sure to tag as #aow talk so we can see your creation and jam out!)
And finally, if your character interacts with a character they’ve never spoken to before, you receive 10 points.
We hope you enjoy this event, fam! Please, let your characters go wild. Let us know if you have any questions. Your admins are here for ya!
