Trauma is a very special character to me, a projection of self on might say 🫢, but special none the less. Out of all the Aro Ace characters I started with she struck me the most because I made her in my image. Even though the other characters I have deal with various degrees of mental health issues and are on the AroAce Spectrum something hits home about a child navigating not only their surroundings and new environment but their mind.

Being adopted really messed me up in ways I hadn’t really accessed since I got older and it affected my relationships, my jobs, everything. I think I’m paying the price now, and it’s hard to explain that to people who haven’t faced such an abandonment.

So I made this character so I could see an adopted kid, a mentally Ill kid, a black girl, an AroAce kid, someone who embodies all the little small things I am and who I can delude myself into thinking I can help.

This book is for anyone who wants to learn about asexuality, and for Ace people themselves, to validate their experiences.

Asexuality is often called The Invisible Orientation. You don’t learn about it in school, you don’t hear “ace” on television. So, it’s kinda hard to be ace in a society so steeped in sex that no one knows you exist. Too many young people grow up believing that their lack of sexual desire means they are broken – so writer Molly Muldoon and cartoonist Will Hernandez, both in the ace community, are here to shed light on society’s misconceptions of asexuality and what being ace is really like.

This book is for anyone who wants to learn about asexuality, and for Ace people themselves, to validate their experiences. Asexuality is a real identity and it’s time the world recognizes it. Here’s to being invisible no more!

hey i really like your posts but if something is about being ace exclusively maybe don’t tag it with aroallo, aromantic, etc. as an aroallo it can be pretty annoying to see things about being ace exclusively when i’m scrolling through the aroallo tag. i don’t see the need for you to change previous posts (that would be too much work) just future ones. instead of tagging it with aroallo/aromantic/etc you can tag it with aroace/acemid/aspec/etc this keeps the ace identity with the addition of aromanticism.

I only do that cause the character is aroace. I don’t ever remember tagging aro allo or anything. But I only use aro cause this character is also Aromantic which even when they’re not mentioning it doesn’t mean they’re not connecting their aro identity to being Ace. Least that’s how I see it, but I’ll remember to add aroace instead of just ace in the comics .
