Let’s remember, Jesus was a Jewish man of color, born homeless to an unwed teenager, who spent his formative years as an illegal immigrant before returning to his home country to hang out with twelve men, prostitutes, and socially untouchable tax collectors while he taught a radical social doctrine of equality, love, and forgiveness that included paying taxes, free healthcare, and the sharing of resources within a community.

so what is the fine line between being a Christian who has gone crazy and being a Christian who is just simply preaching gospel?
Similarities between ancient religious icons.

PJ Lifestyle » Should Christians Give Christmas Back To the Pagans?
I’m pagan* and I still observe Christmas with family. Not to mention, there is such a thing as a Christopagan, and I imagine this would be a frustrating infinite loop for any one of them.
True, of course there is the Bible factor. Jesus wanted his death remembered not his birth. Then you get into the science of the “lie” Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th. I think God might frown on celebrating a lie. But, for my family we too celebrate it but, not in the Jesus was born this day.
Here is my comment: it is an interesting idea, and I can’t wait to read more about it. I don’t make any initial predictions about its veracity because who the fuck knows what’s true and what’s not 2,000 years ago? Historical arguments with compelling evidence are upturned all the time by new...

The Bibles Dumbest “Miracles”
#910 Plagues
Hail? Frogs? Lice? These aren’t plagues they’re mild inconveniences. Death of every first-born is somewhat impressive, but not when you consider that now-a-days someone can press a few red buttons and kill EVERY born. Alright what else you got, bible?

Controversial Question
I’ve been reading a lot about polyamory and the like lately. There are a lot of different opinions on the matter and I’m-sort-of-mildly-but-actually-quite-deeply-interested in the various viewpoints on the matter.
Why are you for or against polyamory being an acceptable form of relationship?
I don't see a problem with it IF all involed are of sound un brain washed mind!
Thou shalt not kill Thou shalt not kill THOU SHALT NOT KILL!
Ok so no one can kill. It’s Gods law! There are no exceptions. Killing is killing is killing. There is no protected line for executioner, soldier, or protective parent. Taking a life is wrong.
Then you stop believing in the God you grew up with. You still don’t want harm to happen. But, it’s nice to know the man who accidentally killed the asshole who was molesting his daughter won’t be going to hell. Or that the soldier protecting our freedoms won’t be serving time in hell for doing what he was told to do. Of course that also means the child molester doesn’t go to hell either but that’s ok too because he won’t get a chance to ask for forgives and sit next to the children whose life he ruined! I’m not saying I’m going to go on a killing spree or that anyone should. I am just saying I now have the freedom to say cool one more bad guy off the street and not have to have a battle with my conscious about feeling ok with certain folk not getting the freedom to harm or hinder lives anymore.
Religion it is a tricky subject at times.
The constant struggle between doing what I know now VS. what I grew up with. I still catch myself on a weekly basis double checking my stance in the world. Somethings are simply not permit-able under the values of Christianity. But, out in the free thinking world the rules are different. It's ok to keep some of the old values but, not all of them.
It's a struggle within that not everyone see's or wants to understand. For those of us who grew up & realized the lies in the truths. This world is far from black and white! Having a conversation with someone like me can at times be bothersome but, be patient. We are still trying to figure things out. We are still trying to find out how we fit in a world without a God. Sadly, the Godly ones are the ones making it more difficult.
I think hell is something you carry around with you. Not somewhere you go.

Is Jesus Sermon enough?
Evangelist and seminary student Jeff Tatarchuck argued that pastors should keep their sermons below the 18-minute mark last week. When pastors weighed in, arguing that people's natural attention spans are longer than that, and that it takes more than 18 minutes to develop disciples, Tatarchuck responded by citing the length of "the greatest sermon of all time," Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, which, he argued, "can be read in 12 minutes, 30 seconds."
We are not all the same;
We do not all believe that being homosexual, transgender or whatever you feel you are is wrong
We do not all believe that evolution does not exist or is wrong
We do not all believe that any other religon is ‘wrong’
or that abortion is not a choice
Just as all people...
