Today I am thankful for this guy. I am thankful to have a fellow American in the office who constantly makes me feel at home. It's a beautiful feeling to speak to someone who has the ability to shrink the astounding distance between you and your home. I am thankful for my incredible coworkers who help me excel professionally and personally. They buy me too many drinks and are always patient when I lose focus and complain about moments past. This is my second Thanksgiving away from home but this year I couldn't feel more at home. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey. This morning I returned to Sydney after a love filled weekend with dear friends. I was greeted by this gorgeous sky as the plane prepared to land and I couldn't help but sit back and smile. There's an unexplainable magic about returning home to the city you love. Maybe it's meant to be unexplainable so the magic never dies. Maybe it's not so much about the city but about the person. Maybe that person is you, on your own, sitting forward to see your city, your love, through the window of a plane. Maybe like any true love it drives you crazy. But you wouldn't change a thing. A few weeks ago I was treated to this gorgeous view while cooking dinner. The first and only rainbow I've ever seen in Sydney making me fall in love with the city even more. 📸 #SnapSydney 🌈

The amount of change I have encountered in the last six months is almost unbelievable. After a heavy week, I decided I needed to sneak away from Sydney and meet a new city. I found myself standing on the beach in Wollongong, NSW. Six months ago I used to sit on a bench on top of the headland. I used to look into the vast unknown that was not only the ocean, but a terrible metaphor for my life at the time. Now I stand and look at the same ocean with different eyes. Different perspective. Different fire. Today I got to enjoy doing one of my favourite things in Australia. I love getting as close as I can to the edge of the continent. The feeling is unexplainable and I hope I can never put it into words. I think the magic would be lost if I did. #LateNightTrainThoughts (at Wollongong, New South Wales)

I would to wish my darling @debdebdebdeb the safest of travels. Without @instagram I wouldn't have this amazing woman in my life or be apart of the @globelletravels community. The expat life is crazy and constantly changing but it's friends like D who keep you grounded and focused on the path you're travelling. To be gainfully employed at 23 is a blessing. To call the gorgeous city of Sydney home is a dream. I challenge myself and you all to make it a habit of being grateful. Be happy, watch the sunset, buy your friend lunch. Conduct yourself in a way that you continually makes your heart happy. 🌻
