“Oh, Honey, I’m home!” The sing-song voice rang through the halls.
The voice shook your sleeping body awake, You were sprawled out in your computer desk from the night before.
“Oh, Honey!” The voice sang out again, “Come out, come out wherever you are!”
Your feet swing out from under you as you rose from your seat. You krept to the doorframe and peeked out to see the Joker standing in your living room. His orange jumpsuit was missing and instead, A white button up and navy blue pants took their place. a purple coat rested in his hand. Before you had time to react, He spotted you.
“Oh, Love. There you are.” He grinned at you.
“W-what are you doing here? You cant be here.” You shook your head at the figure that now towered over you.
“You mean.. You're not excited to see me, Darling?” He frowned, Bringing his hand up to trace his thumb over your bottom lip.
“You..You can’t be here.. How.. “ You couldn't even process what was happening. This was the first time you had seen the joker face-to-face without him being restrained.
“I had to get out, Kitten. I had to see you..And i got you a present.” He grinned widely.
“You..” You were cut off by sirens wailing outside your apartment.
The sudden explosion of noise hitting your eardrums made you cover your ears as you ran to the living rooms windows to close them and pull the curtains together.
“You have to go, J! Right now! If someone finds you..”
“But kitten..Let me just give you your present first, hm?”
You sat back on your couch and took a deep breath. “Hurry up.”
“well..” The joker stepped into your kitchen, disappearing for a minute,” It’s not any flowers but i think you’ll be just as pleased.”
The joker crept back around the corner, His hand holding a fist full of hair, a head of a familiar face dangled from his clutches, Its long hair trailing down its head, stained with blood.
“Oh, Dearest, You came back for me.” The jokers green eyes peered up at you, His limbs in shackles and his body covered in an orange jumpsuit.
You ignored him, nodding at the guard who let you in. The guard stepped out and allowed you two top be alone. You sat in your seat in front of the Joker, Your eyes barring against his.
“Why so cold? What's wrong?” The jokers eyebrows furrowed as he watched you.
“I’m here to talk about your partner today.”
“Partner? You know i work alone, Miss..” The joker continued watching your movements lime it was the last thing he would ever see.
“Oh yeah? Then what would you call...Her?” You asked, Your head tilting slightly in frustration.
“...Harley?” The joker cackled, “she was just a lost child who followed me. Thought i was going to change her world.”
“But you did.” You swallowed hard, your eyes meeting his green ones once again.
“Miss Quinzel means nothing to me. she never had.” The joker sighed in boredom, sitting back in his metal chair.
“so everything you put her through.. The wash, The crimes.. The.. Nothing meant anything to you?”
“Nope. Nada.” He groaned, “Can we just hurry this up and get onto the next topic? It’s boring.”
Joker sat up, His eyes trailing up to meet yours. he inhaled sharply as he cracked his knuckles.
“It’s all over the news.. No one knows what happened but she’s just..Gone.”
“It’s not my problem, Kitten.” His breath was hot against yours, His grill gleaming.
he let himself fall back into his chair’s it rocked back from the sudden force.
“she was a good kid, J. She worked hard. She had her masters and she was going places. she had her demons but hell, Don’t we all? She..”
“Oh, Shut up!” He barked at you. “You talk about My Harley like you knew her your whole life. You don’t know shit, Kitten. You're barking up the wrong tree.” He growled against you, slamming his fist down against the desk.
“Your right, J. I don’t know what i’m talking about. I don’t know Harley. But i know Harleen very well.” You inhaled, starring daggers at him.
“What are you talking about..” The jokers eyebrows raised at you.
“Well, when you live with someone for sixteen years, You figure you know them pretty well. wouldn't you agree?”
“Why.. Why were you with her?!” The jokers voice changed to something you didn't recognize, Like his true demonized self was spilling out to you.
“Harley’s my unbiological adopted sister, J. and You're the monster who took her away from me.”
The joker just stared at you, His eyebrows furrowed and the range in his eyes.
“If you don’t leave in two seconds, You’ll be the first on my list the second i get out, Kitten.” He growled deeply, If looks could kill, You’d be 6 feet under.
“I’ll leave but i’ll be back. You Don't scare me, J. You already took my family from me, You already hurt me. You can’t touch me anymore.Nothing you’ll do or say will phase me. Understand? you’re in here, Not me. I’m going to go, outside. get in my car. Get a coffee or go home to my apartment and sleep in my comfortable bed.You get to go back to a cell. You can’t get me J. Not this time. Not ever again.” You rose from your seat, collecting your things and began to head out. Reaching the door, You turned to him with a grin. His face was between his hands and his eyes were wide scanning the desk in front of him. He looked broken. You broke him and you were definitely going to take advantage of that.
“Now, If you excuse me, i have a body to go identify. same time next week, Kitten?”
